Kind of saddens me to write this because the owner was really nice up until I sent her a DM and she left me on read. I went to the salon a week ago to get a mani pedi. Hands turned out great, feet not so much. The girl cut off too much skin and i ended up with a terrible toe infection, could barely walk (mind you I was in NY visiting for my sisters wedding), had to get antibiotics and miss work because of the horrendous pain. After she cut it I tried to keep my toe clean to prevent infection but it still got really bad (WARNING image attached). When I told one of the girls in person that one of the nail techs cut me she didn't say anything and just shrugged, then a few days later I DM'd the owner about my situation (attached image) and she left me on read. In the salon I saw that they had the machines to clean tools but when they started my pedicure she pulled out the cuticle cutter out of nowhere so who knows if it was actually sterilized. I would recommend this salon for a manicure but do it at your own risk. read more

Older lady was huffing and puffing when I told her to fix her mistake with the chrome, and the work/end result is still shoddy. I tipped 20% and she couldn't even be bothered to put some cuticle oil after everything. I didn't expect her to rip off my acrylics and do everything all over again, but she didn't even want to repaint anything until I said "no" at the cracked chrome she insisted were fine and was gonna let me leave with. Even then, I'm pretty sure she rushed through the 'fix' because the nails are a mess. She kept telling me to not look at the nails before putting them in the machine; ma'am, that's not how you do customer service, especially when you've already shown me I cannot trust you to deliver results. I went here for the first time and got a dip powder manicure. I came into the salon with dip powder nails from a different place and my first issue was with the removal. They did not soak my nails in acetone at all. The manicurist went in with the drill (unsure of the proper name) and filed them down to my bare nail, it was painful. He then pushed my cuticles back to the point where multple of my fingers were bleeding. Once that was finally over he began applying the dip powder. This was fine but he did such a thin layer I began seeing cracks in my nails only days later. Eventually pieces fell off.. which has never happened to me before. I had went to a nail place not far from this one and had the worst experience so I was kind of leery about goin to another new spot in the neighborhood but based on the reviews I thought I would give this a try. This place hits the mark. It doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let this Diamond in the rough fool you. The quality and customer service is on point. I called and was able to get in same day for a 'full set and gel pedicure.' Bing who did my pedicure was so meticulous and made sure everything was perfect. I'm rather particular and I was ecstatic with how even the coats were and the quality of product used. I asked for candy based on the great reviews she has and learned she was the owner. She sees everything! She's constantly making sure everyone is taken care of while she's doing a superb job. Never once did I feel I wasn't her top priority as she greeted customers and spoke to the other workers. I got the hombre set with a design I found in instagram which she was able to replicate. I was super impressed how she not only did the hombre by hand but customized the gel for my skin tone. I had shared my bad experience down the street and another customer overheard me and reassured me she was only in cuz her set grew out not for a break or bad quality. Once my nails were done I couldn't be happier they are gorgeous. This will definitely be my new place. read more

Very horrible experience!! I been to this nail salon many times and have always enjoyed my experience However, today I went to go remove my acrylic nails with a top coat of gel and get a hard gel set. First time ever that my nails were removed in the way that they were. My nails were being forcibly taken off with a metro card and a cuticle tweezer. Every time i would try and pull away because it was hurting, Michael would form a tighter grip on my hand and continue to do it. I should've stopped him but by the time i was about to, I noticed that a layer of my nail was taken off and my nail was hurting and slightly bleeding. No apologizes from him either because of this. Instead, the other staff apologized which i appreciated. Completely unacceptable because he could've soaked them off or drilled them down first, I will never come back here again. I started coming to the salon during the pandemic when my other salon was closed down. They were one of the few salons in the area that was open so I can see why a lot of people gave them a chance. I started going to Candy, because based on the reviews she was the best technician. And while she definitely does a beautiful and clean nail shape, she lacks in the design aspect and is a little rough when doing your nails. Whenever I would give her a simple enough design it would turn out nothing at all like the photo, and she wouldn't even care if you told her they did not look the same. She would brush me off and tell me to dry my nails. It was extremely frustrating every time. Because I'm extremely picky and she does do a nice nail shape, I decided to compromise and do solid colors with her only. Although in the end, I ended up switching salons because she's very rough when she files/buffs your nails. To the point that she would cut my cuticles every single time and if I flinched or told her it hurts, she would completely disregard it. I've noticed that to be a pattern in the reviews and other people that I know came to the salon. This is not something I could tolerate biweekly, added to the fact that she was not good at doing nail designs. The appointment system was also nonexistent. Despite making set appointments with Candy, I never started on time. I would see them write down the appointments into a notepad but never actually check the notepad when people arrived. If you're here for a quick manicure or pedicure, go for it but as a recurring salon it's really a risk. read more

I hate that I have to write this review. I was really looking forward to making this my go-to nail shop. I came across this nail salon last month on a whim. One day I decided to walk around Williamsburg until I could find a decent nail shop that would allow last-minute walk ins for a pedicure. I found here and they took me! I was pleased with my pedi. I also saw that Candy did decent nail designs, so I cancelled my appointment with a nail shop in the city, and decided to try her. At the time, it ended up being more convenient for my upcoming schedule, so it worked out perfectly. My set turned out great. Candy did a good job. So I knew I'd be coming back. I made an appointment to come in for a fill and a pedi. The pedi - WORST SERVICE EVER. First, I asked the technician not to cut too much off my toenails. Not only did she cut it down to my skin, she cut it into an OBVIOUS downward slope. I had to ask Candy to fix it. She agreed she saw the issue but made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. She just replied, "don't worry, it'll grow back." I'm sorry, that doesn't work for me. I would've expected her to offer to put an extension on it so it could look halfway decent. But no. I let it be. Then came to my fill. The color I chose kept bubbling. Candy kept filing it down and fixing and I asked if I should choose another color b/c this one wasn't cooperating and kept saying that there was no issue with the color. Mind you, she was getting just as frustrated with the color as I was. This kept me at the nail salon wayyyy longer than I should've been there. Once I got home, I noticed that half the gel on my toes came off, and my nails..color was bubbling AGAIN! On top of everything, I noticed that my big toe was burning way too much for comfort, AND the bottom of my right foot had been scraped too deep with the callus remover. It's beyond painful. The pain really started hitting me the next day. I called the next day once they opened and explained everything. They told me to come back in to fix it. Fast-forward today, (as I sit in the pedi chair to type this)...With my nails, I told Candy I'd rather just change the color. It's obvious this one is faulty. She insisted on there being no problem with the color and if I wanted to change it, I had to pay $20. Honestly, I was so fed up, I probably would've paid HAD I NOT OVERHEARD THEM CHARGE SOMEONE ELSE $15 for her gel polish change!!!! When I mentioned it to Candy, she said "No. It's $20." Very dumbfounded. With my toe, they fixed the two toes that were messed up. I showed her the toe that was nicked and bleeding, and the bottom of my right foot where it was cut deep. No remorse. Not even an apology. Candy just looked at it and so "Oh, ok you just wanted to let us know? She will fix your toe for you." And walked off. I am now on my way to Urgent Care to have it treated so it doesn't become infected. I'm also in a wedding this weekend, and I can't walk in heels b/c of the pain. I've never had such a horrible experience at a nail salon. And all of this really sucks b/c after living in NYC for almost six years, I finally find a nail salon I thought was worth making my go-to (decent price, decent nails, close to home) but after this, I can't imagine myself going back. read more

Wanted to try something new and was looking for salons in my area that also specialized in decent nail art so I decided to try this place out. Making an appointment was easy, I just called, asked for Candy (per reviews) and was able to get an appointment with her within the hour. I showed her a reference pic and she let me know that in order to achieve the desired look I needed to get UV gel extensions. I was completely unfamiliar with the process and had a lot of questions but she was so helpful and sat and explained everything to me. She assured me that my natural nails wouldn't get damaged and put me completely at ease. She worked quickly and efficiently but did a very thorough job. I felt completely taken care of. My only complaint would be that I didn't get to choose the colors prior to her starting. While she was working on my nails, she had another tech pick out the colors (for the rainbow accents), and the woman selected the wrong shades.. even with the reference photo in hand. I asked for light pastels and they insisted that these were the right colors and that it would come off that way on the nail but... :/ these are more neon-ish, highlighter vibes. After striking out at a few nail salons near me, I decided to try out MC Prime with the hopes it could become my new go-to nail salon. I was able to make an appointment quickly and efficiently through messaging on Yelp. The owner of the salon responded to my inquiries regarding pricing and appointment availability within minutes and made the entire process so easy - I didn't even have to make a phone call! I got a powder manicure ($40) and a basic pedicure ($23). The powder manicure was excellent and about $10 cheaper than most nail salons near me. They have a ton of color options as well. I'm now on week 2 of my manicure and other than a few cracks (not chips) of the powder, the manicure still looks great and should definitely last 3 weeks! The basic pedicure was exactly what you would expect...basic. But they did clean up my nails well and for only $23, I thought it was fair service for the cost. My only minor complaint is that my white pedicure polish chipped badly after only 6-7 days from going in a pool a few times. Usually my pedicures last at least 3-4 weeks, even on beach vacations. I'm thinking maybe this was just bad polish and willing to try another pedicure. After 2 weeks though, I'm already in need of another pedicure which usually isn't the case. Overall, I thought this nail salon was a very simple, no frills kind of place but the quality and price of the powder manicure cannot be beat. I will definitely be back in a few weeks! read more

Dirty salon and staff is rude. I made an appt for a powder dip manicure. Upon entering the salon floors looked as if it's rarely cleaned. I was in a rush and decided to give them a shot. The nail tech proceeded to use the drill to remove the top layer of powder from my nail. The drill was way too rough and when I mentioned it was hurting my natural nail she proceeded to use it anyway instead of turning the drill down as I suggested. After my second time mentioning that the drill was hurting me she and the owner pretended like they didn't understand what I was saying so I walked out. There are way too many nail salons in NYC to deal with this type of establishment. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to the area and took a good amount of time looking for a quality nail salon. These reviews seemed good overall so I decided to try it. I called the salon and they told me I could come in right away. I got a gel extension manicure for $70 and it took less than an hour (~40 minutes). It's not the cleanest salon from what I could tell - tech did not wear gloves, there was no towel or mat on the station, and it seems like plastic bags hanging from the ceiling to separate the tech and guest. Overall, I like the manicure but I'm not sure I would go back due to cleanliness. read more

Candy has been a nail artist for 20 years so if you're looking for someone quick, efficient, and experienced, I highly recommend her and her staff. Especially with the design ;) Super affordable, I came in for a gel mani with 2 nails with nail art and a regular pedicure and the total was like ~$58. Where in New York can you find those prices?! 10/10 on the designs - but 0/10 on the process and how they leave your nails & fingers feeling. I've been going to this salon for about a year now and I do have to say everytime I show them a design - I leave with exactly what I want, which has kept me going. I just wish it didn't have to be so painful everytime. After the last time, I won't be going back. I have been doing acrylic for years & every other salon I used to go to would soak off the acrylic after every 2-3 fills. Here, I would ask and they would always say no no, you just need a fill. After 5 or 6 months, the acrylics were so yellow that I said I would really like them removed and instead of soaking them, they ripped them off one by one with a subway card and they were not even lifting whatsoever, so it was extremely painfull. That was in the summer and it is now February and I have had the same acrylics since. Now this past time, Candy was so rough that i left with 6 of my fingers bleeding & one was so deep , it ended up looking infected for the next 2 weeks which really grossed me out. I do not have a picture but I wish I took one. While I was there, she just kept saying that it was because my hands are dry which was just an excuse because I was noticeably bleeding so much. It was just the last straw for me & like I said I will not be back. Okay so I got an acrylic manicure and a regular pedicure. The nail tech, Candy did my manicure and did an amazing job! She is so experienced, quick and I felt so comfortable her hands. She has an instagram you can follow too. I asked her to do the new hailey Bieber glazed donut nails and she didn't disappoint. The prices are fair and I loved the finished nails. As for my pedicure, I'm not sure who started with them - a young brunette, I wouldn't have her do it again but the woman who finished them - did an incredible job. This is my go to spot read more
