The bottom floor of the salon is where Lourna was stationed. I was promptly greeted by the staff and taken back to meet Lourna. At first I felt a little weird because we were in the men's barber room and secluded so I didn't feel like I was apart of the salon, but I came to quickly enjoy the appointment because of Lourna. She explained all the products she was using on me from start to finish. I liked that this salon has two kinds of products, Bumble and bumble and kerestase. She used the Kerestase products on me and I really liked how it felt on my hair. Her hair washing skills were AMAZING. The scalp massage she gave me was 10/10. Throughout the whole appointment, I didn't even notice I was getting my haircut because she was so gentle, even when blowing out my hair. The haircut came out amazing and I am so happy with the results. Lourna really listened to what I wanted and I can't wait to see her again!

GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!…read more I have been a client of Moxie Morristown for over two years. I originally found the salon through Groupon and was fortunate to work with Lella, who was excellent. Because of her professionalism and skill, I purchased multiple packages for haircuts, glazes, and color services. Unfortunately, my experience with the Morristown location steadily declined after she left. First, I was reassigned to Cece, who then left. Next, I was scheduled with Lucas, a Master Colorist, only to learn shortly before my appointment that Lucas would not be available and I would instead be seeing a brand-new stylist. At no point was I contacted beforehand and given the option to reschedule. Instead, I was simply moved from one stylist to another based on availability. I understand that employee turnover happens, but clients should not be treated as interchangeable appointments. If I book with a specific stylist, especially a Master Colorist, I expect to be informed if that person is unavailable and given the choice of whether to proceed or reschedule. Because I was uncomfortable with the constant reshuffling, I visited the Moxie Montville location instead. The difference was remarkable. The staff there were professional, accommodating, and took me immediately. I was so impressed that I purchased an additional package to continue services with them. However, because Morristown refused to refund the remaining balance on my package, I was forced to return there to use my remaining services. That decision turned out to be a mistake. At my most recent color appointment, the stylist failed to review my color history and used a reddish shade that was completely different from my established color. I didn't realize the mistake until I got home. When I returned and asked that the error be corrected, I was told they could not fit me in until the following day. Once again, Moxie Montville stepped in and accommodated me immediately. They corrected the mistake the same day. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability from management. Rather than taking responsibility, I was told that the Montville location should have entered my color information into the system. Yet I personally confirmed that the information had in fact been entered. The issue was not missing information--it was that nobody at Morristown took the time to review it before applying color to my hair. Throughout this process, manager Chaya did little to resolve the situation. I was repeatedly told that refunds were not possible and that I would need to contact corporate myself. Between the constant staff turnover, poor communication, scheduling practices, color mistake, and lack of accountability, I can no longer recommend the Moxie Morristown location. If you value consistency, communication, and attention to detail, I would strongly suggest considering another salon or, at the very least, a different Moxie location.

Most importantly, my updo stayed completely intact all night through summer heat and hours of heavy dancing and it was totally pain-free with all the pins. At $85, the price for an updo is a bit steep, but compared to other salons in the area, it's actually very competitively priced for the quality. The front desk was super communicative during booking, and I loved being offered a chilled glass of water upon arrival-such a welcoming touch. The woman that offered the beverage was very sweet. A few small notes for future clients and management: tips cannot be added to a card (cash, Venmo, or Zelle only), and I'd love it if confirmation emails included the stylist's name. My appointment started about 10 minutes late, and since no one greeted me right away when I walked in. I wasn't acknowledged for the first five minutes I was there. I was a bit nervous about a delay (though it all worked out fine!). I also personally missed having a cape provided during the service. A friend of mine had a blowout and they pinned it and used the round brush and her hair looked great! She chose not to Leave with the clips in. If she did, it would have been an additional $10. To some this may be worth it and we didn't talk about this logistically but it was an observation I made while thinking about this from an operations standpoint. I made a Sat 7 am appt for my young daughter who was slated to be a flower girl in a morning…read morewedding. Got her up super early for this appt and when we arrived, the shop was still closed. Phone number went to automatic voicemail. A stylist came in around 7:10 am and checked me in. Told me the stylist doing my daughter's hair should be in any minute. She texts her without response. Then calls the manager to reach out. The in house stylist takes her scheduled appt for 7:15. At 7:30, I ask for an update. Supposedly she left and is on her way. I ask how long out is she? Another 20 minutes! I end up waiting as I did want my daughter to look nice as she's in the bridal party. At 7:50, this stylist STILL isn't here, so the other stylist starts with my daughter. I skip the wash and blow out and do a dry-style/braid as it's now an hour later and we're late for wedding pics! At 8:30 when we left, that stylist never made it in--looked like the manager had come in, but no apology or anything from management. I cancelled my own appointment for later day and scheduled at another salon in town. For the type of competition that's around, esp around the corner, these guys must do better!!! The studio is sleek and modern and they did a really good job with the space. Overall, it's a great local salon.
