I would never come here due to the staffs questionable decision making skills. Today while walking the street and attempting to dine with my family I witnessed an employee attacking a delivery truck driver that was blocking their driveway. Rather than using manners, the employee blew up, harassing the driver with screaming, cursing, and getting in his face while he was simply trying to complete his job and move the truck. Blocking a driveway is a minor inconvenience and not one that warrants extreme aggression. I'd hate to think what would happen if something went wrong during an appointment and god for bid you didnt tip well, you might get hit! Remember that your actions are seen by others around you and it's important to maintain a professional aura at work even when things aren't going your way! read more

FYI the entrance is in the back. There is a lovely front porch I've used both appointments. Staff is welcoming and efficient. Typically, I find salons to be a quagmire since i don't like many products, i don't like warm/hot water, i don't like leave-ins, i don't like hairdryers... conveying these things is a chore. Ive been coloring my beautiful hair for 40 yrs ( in CA) so this wasn't my first rodeo-I've been coloring my hair for many, many years in high end salons in SCAL & was searching for a NJ colorist/ salon to help me make this most difficult transition. Unfortunately, I ended up here spending $284 on a bad experience ;( My colorist went out of his way 3,000 miles away to try and find me a salon that used the same color products and treat me for my birthday. I was shocked @ the bill , and frankly highly embarrassed. When I questioned the amount of the bill w the owner (who did my hair) she said " Well it's not my problem the girl who answered the phone & scheduled you didn't tell you how much it was going to cost" ? I'm like yes , when I sat in your chair that should've been part of the discussion when I talked about maintenance and root touchup I was hoping to return and find a new salon but I would never recommend this place. Luckily I found a wonderful salon in Summit.. Even in LA a blow dry isn't a la carte it's included in your color/ service. That's crazy an honestly ridiculous. I went to this salon for my first time this past saturday. I am only now inspired to write a review because of something that has happened, that has never happened to or for me, before. I'm a completely klutz when it comes to blow drying my own hair. For whatever reason, my hair looks great when I leave the salon, and then when I wash and dry it myself, it looks awful. Not the case this time. I've washed my hair 3x since my visit to this salon, and each and every time, my hair has honestly looked almost as good as when Sam did it at the salon.... which can only mean that she gave me a fantastic cut that simply falls into place as intended. So, hats off to Sam, for giving me probably the best cut I've ever had, in decades. On top of that, my single process color is gorgeous. She mixed exactly the tone I was looking for. And, I loved that my scalp didn't hate having color on it, while it processed. I'm so used to counting down the minutes until I can be washed, but in this instance, with the chem-free product, my scalp was comfortable. Thrilled to find you folks, and look forward to continued good service. One other note, if you walk to the salon, as I did, walk to the back parking lot to enter... that's where reception is. I walked in from the street side, and had to walk through the salon to find reception, which was a little odd, as a first time visitor. I have been going to this salon for many years. Stacy the senior colorist/stylist is amazing. She and her staff are always a pleasure to be around. I love the organic products and my color looks so natural. My daughter has very course, thick hair and the "green keratin' treatment really tames her frizz. After much research I would never take my daughter anywhere else, this treatment is the best, and the safest, no formaldehyde or chemicals. I had an extremely traumatic experience at this salon and will never go back. I was a frequent customer who receivved the same color each time. The last time i went the senior stylist had a new employee/assistant aiding her with my highlights, and she seemed to have taken the lead. The stylist did not see my hair before the foils were removed- and when i complained that the color was wrong she said it was the dim red lighting. I went back 3 times in 24 hours. My hair turned white, and after 3 processings of trying to rectify and it falling out in chunks i called it and was left with severely damaged hair & scalp. read more

Great service! Because everything is organic, the hair dye actually made my hair healthier! Plus, it did not leave that telling smell on my pillow when I went to bed at night that you get with dyes at other salons. I also got a facial, and my skin was left smooth and clear for months! The place was nice. And has a private lot which is clutch. I just moved to the area so I figured I'd give it a shot. I wanted a LOB. Which he did, but it def came out wayyyy shorter than expected. Someone even walked by and said wow you took a lot off. Which sent me into an internal panic. It's kinda cute. I sorta like it, but I def don't love it. A lot of reviews complained about customer service. Or lack there of. Customer service was ok, but certainly not the best I've experienced. I hosted a small bachelorette party at the salon for facials and massages. Throughout the planning process the staff couldn't be more accommodating and patient. They ended up opening their doors to just us on a Sunday (when they're normally closed) and provided a complementary make-up tutorial with the bride-to-be and shared tips on make-up application. They made sure we were comfortable, constantly offering us cold water and hot coffee and even were cool with us bringing brunch into the salon! More importantly, the staff is completely knowledgeable and professional. My facial (from Zoe) was very thorough and the bride-to-be said her massage (from Tara) was the best she'd ever had! Came in for a blow out and during check out used a gift card I had found that I received as a gift 5 years ago. The dates were written for the other services purchased and there was no expiration date on the card. There was also no notice in the salon with regard to a two year expiration policy. When I asked where the notice of expiration was when the owner finally came out, she was extremely rude, curt, and unpleasant. She commented, 5 years, give me a break. I moved from Atlanta away from a great stylist who I loved, and had no idea where to go when I moved to Morristown. I was a Davines follower and found Salon Botanique. I booked an appointment with Jessie Ullman. I liked her bio and that she has an artist background. And a great artist she is! She brings that talent to hair styling and my hair is her canvas. I love the creativity and design she does with my hair. I'm now a big fan of Kevin Murphy products thanks to Jessie and my hair is so healthy as a result. My blonde is the perfect shade of ash I have always desired blended with lowlights that make my hair look natural with lots of depth. Her cuts perfectly frame my face and I feel like a movie star when I leave. She's the best! Also to note...Shaun is fantastic at blowouts. He gave me a great blowout style that lasted 3 days! OVERPRICED!! POOR SERVICE!! First off, I love the hair color product. It's all natural and organic. What really turned me off about this place were the prices. When I made my appointment, the receptionist neglected to tell me that I was getting the highest priced stylist. When I arrived, I had no idea that I was going to be charged as much as I was (the price menu said completely different). The stylist added a glaze without my consent for another $27 and charged $68 for a very poorly done trim. I've never had my hair cut so badly before. On top of that, she had an assistant who did most of the work and at the end I was expected to tip BOTH of them. I also got my brows waxed...$25!! And they were uneven...extremely. All in all, I felt gouged and taken advantage of. I had so looked forward to having a nice salon to go to, but when they told me $290 for what I received, I paid, and went home and cried. I can't go back to this place again, even though the color product was great. The service sucked.(I'm really referring to the reception staff) The prices sucked. I've been going to this salon for sometime, I was very generous with my hairstylist and the hair washers they are great people. I'm very satisfied from the haircut service I received from them. What's more important than this is the attitude and behavior of the salon manager Lindsey and how she manages the store. The store is unorganized unclean. This is not my word anyone can visit and observe! One day I missed my hair cut appointment time as I wasn't feeling well at the time. I called to reschedule I talked to the store manager to reschedule and she end up charging my card with 50% of the service charge. she said we have policy to charge 50% if the customer didn't show up for the appointment. This is the first time in my life to pay a charge for missing a hair cut appointment for the first time. I asked her do you have this policy on paper did I sign on this policy do you have any form of agreement from me as a customer her answer was "I told when you first came in" which I don't recall. She was very aggressive unprofessional loud voice on the phone. she said you can talk to the store lawyer and the store owner and she hang up the phone on me. As if she has a chart to follow (if customer missed an appointment for the first time charge them 50% and tell them talk to the store lawyer and store owner if they have problem with it). This is not a business professional and customer focused attitude, acting aggressive and rude doesn't help the business it hurts on the long run than helping. Retain customers is very important skills to learn because it is the backbone of the business success. Building good and professional relationship with customers is vital for success. read more

Do not visit this salon! I've been chemically straighning my hair for ten years. I decided to go to this salon for a straighter chemical for my hair. They did not use keratin but a different product. I paid hundreds. It did not straighten the hair follicles at all. Actually what I can't believe is it actually permanently kinked my hair in three spots. The total opposite of straightening. Not only that it left me with no volume just on the top of my head. I look silly it's not a good look! It takes me longer to straighten my hair now after going to this salon ! I have never called back a salon and complained. I am forty years old so that's pretty good! I've had many bad haircuts and colors Along the way that I have just sucked up but in this situation I called the salon. I honestly was trying to help them. I know for a fact if this product didn't work on my hair which my hair is only wavy not curly. There is no way they will have success with this product moving forward. I was very disappointed when I waited a week and the owner never had the professionalism to call me back! Not good in my books!!! When you have a owner who doesn't care about feedback and doesn't care about people she is styling in her salon. That is HUGE red flag! I have never in my life had what just happened to me at a salon, due to the winter storm the previous Saturday this salon called and re-scheduled the hair trim and blow out for my daughter. Fine, we rescheduled for the following Tuesday, and finally changed it for this Saturday. The appt was for 10:45 - I had it down as 11 am. We arrived at 3 minutes to 11 and Shaun and the reception informed us at the door that he would be unable to trim and blow out my daughters hair because we were 15 mins late! He said they were backed up and no way could accommodate - us with a trim AND a blowout. I asked if he could please just try to squeeze her in - as other salons have done 1,000's of time for people and still no! I asked if maybe someone else could blow her out and NO again. Honestly, no salon I have ever been to is precise to the minute the way they were acting... When this has happened at other salons, they make you wait a little longer but don't completely tell you no! Bad customer service -- They should have worked with us a little and been a little more accommodating/flexible. I would have been very appreciative and all would have been ok and my review would have WOW GREAT PLACE THEY WORK WITH YOU. Instead, they ruined what was suppose to be a fun day with my daughter and to be honest -- I can't even say the girl got the time right! read more

I am sad to say, but I will never go here again. To me, customer service is very important and I am extremely loyal to those places that treat their customers with respect. To the salon's defense, I was late for my appointment as a first time color client(I got my bridal hair done there and after 4 attempts, she finally listened instead of trying to do what she wanted to do. It turned out beautiful and looked a lot like the picture I brought of the hair I wanted. Why it took 4 tries and $250 is beyond me). I called to inform them that I was really sorry, but I was running late. The girl asked me how late and when I said 5 minutes in addition to the 5 I was already late she informed me of the policy at the salon that if you are 15 or more minutes late, they will cancel your appointment. I walked in the door with 2 minutes to spare and after consulting with the stylist, the receptionist informed me that she couldn't take me because I was late. When I called her on her earlier statement of the 15 minute policy she told me that I got there over 15 minutes late and then told me our clocks were different(!). I asked to speak to the manager who told me that her receptionist had told me wrong information and if you walk in the door late as a first time client, they won't have time to take you. She was sorry but there was nothing she could do. I have heard really great things about this place and the atmosphere is cool, but I will stick to salons that have better customer service. With so many great salons in the area I would think that they would make that a priority. If I'm going to drop $220 on my hair, i want to have a nice experience. Laboratory Hair Studio right down the street was able to squeeze me in an hour later. I got a great cut and color and will be giving them my business from now on. read more

If you are considering this salon PLEASE read this post. I decided to try this salon out because I am trying to go more organic/natural in all things possible. What a mistake! I have always prided myself on having great hair - long, thick, shiny and very healthy. I religiously get my hair done 4 times a year with highlights and trims. I've never had any issues with hair health. After my experience a week and a half ago at this salon my hair is BEYOND FRIED. It keeps breaking off and is dry as can be. Four days after my highlights/cut there I went back to express how unbelievably unhappy I was. They did a protein and moisturizing treatment that gave my hair some life... but didn't stop the breakage. A few days after that I called again (I am beyond upset and devastated) and they refunded my money.... but that won't bring back my hair. Now I sit and wait the 2-3 years for my long hair to regrow back fully. I am not sure if it was the chemicals they used and/or the extremely high heat of the blow dryer that did this to my hair. I assumed the stylist (Jessie Fricke) was competent to know if she was blow drying my hair properly. In any case, while I look horrible (and right before the holidays) I wanted to share my experience so I can hopefully spare others the pain that I am now going to have to life through. Really like the hair color....it is great but I have not had a hair cut here after reading some of the reviews it had scared me off since people are being charged over $200 and for me that is just too extravagant unless you get something that really lasts like a perm or something. ...I am thinking of getting a cut next time and they claim it's $71 ...( I think $50 is usually fair for a cut) but I want to see if it's really better....When you get color alone ...I get highlights and glazes they wash your hair but do not dry it so you can dry it a bit by yourself before you leave the salon but don't expect any "extras". read more

Well just came home from getting my hair done today love my hair my stylist is fantastic been coming here for about a year. But this time I also came home with a screaming headache! It seems they allow this one client to bring her baby about 2 yrs. old she screamed so loud in her mothers lap while the mother got her hair washed for quite some time! I felt so bad for the woman next to her getting her hair washed too and the shampoo girl. When I mentioned it later I was told she has been a client for a long time. Well I Pay just as much as she does if not more and shame on the owner for not addressing this matter and explaining to her she can no longer bring her child .I am sure there where many more clients who are upset as well. It was not a very nice experience and hopefully something will be done or you may lose many more clients then just her.
