I've been here twice and can't say either visit really sold me on this place. I've been happy with my hair cut, but really disappointed with the front desk staff, which will likely prevent me from coming back. I booked my latest appointment online, making sure to select the hair stylist that I visited previously. When I checked in at the front desk, I was asked who I was seeing, so I stated the name of who I booked with. After being stared at like I was an idiot, I was told there's no way that's correct because she doesn't work there anymore. Turns out I had been moved to another stylist and no one had the decency to call and give me a heads up. I then had to figure out where to go and who I was seeing on my own - which was awkward to say the least. The hair stylists are really nice and great at what they do, but the lack of organization and basic customer service overshadows that for me. A smile or "hi how are you?" would go a long way. read more

Belinda (owner) and one of the stylists, Xhilda, met us in the bridal suite at the venue and got to work creating beautiful hair styles and gorgeous makeup. Not only was everyone thrilled with the turnout but the two of them were a breeze to spend the morning with. Walked into the salon and there was no one at the desk to check me in. I arrived on time and it wasn't a busy morning. I waited for 5-10 min until someone approached me, and when they did, they looked at me like I had multiple heads. I usually just get my hair colored at the salon with Amy, but this time I just needed a quick clean up. Belinda cut my hair and did a great job. It took approx. 25-30 min. However, I only got a trim and it cost $85 -- So absurd! That doesn't include tip, which I gave 20%. So basically... I spent about $100 for half an inch off my head. Better off going somewhere else. read more

If you're looking for a salon that is reasonably priced for a decent single process color to cover some gray, this establishment might work for you. If you want a salon that is going to pamper you with a day of beauty and relaxation, this is not the place for you. You'll enter to no greeting from the people who manage the desk that don't smile, engage in any sort of pleasantries, thank you upon payment, you'll go find a robe to put on on your own without being guided to a changing room, and then perhaps someone will lead you to a chair. It's a crapshoot if someone will come over and put product around your hairline to avoid the color staining the skin prior to the colorist beginning (I've had both experiences). When your timer buzzes, if you're lucky, one of the attitude ridden hair washers will wash your hair; if you're not lucky, you'll sit with the color on for an additional ten minutes which likely makes the color too dark or even damages your hair and, when you ask if someone will wash it soon, you'll be told, "I'll get to you when I get to you." If you ask for sulfate free shampoo to maintain a Brazilian Blowout, it remains unclear if they honor the request as they seem not sure if all of their shampoos/conditioners are sulfate free or not. You will then walk with sopping wet hair soaking your robe to the person you've booked a blowout with. There is one stylist named Mala who does an outstanding blowout - she takes her time, is meticulous, and is very kind. This salon is not maintained in terms of extreme cleanlines, but mostly I'm disheartened by the behavior of the front desk staff, hair washers, and management as customer service is what keeps people coming back and referring new clients. As I began, though, if you need a reasonably priced single process, you'll be fine as long as your expectations for a pleasant experience are low. **Important to note that many of their professional team are not wearing masks / some clients do wear masks** read more

First time customer. I needed trim for a short blunt bob. So it was just around the bottom of my hair, no layers. Very simple. I had Xhilda who was super nice and told me she was a bob perfectionist. When she finished I pointed out that the sides weren't even. She disagreed with me and cut a few additional stray pieces. I left. Haircut was $80. I left Xhilda a $20 tip and the very nice shampoo woman $5. When I got home, I could see that it was clearly still uneven. I called and drove back to the salon and Xhilda still disagreed with me and cut a tiny bit on the longer side. Now she is acting annoyed and frustrated and I am feeling horrible for being difficult even tho I was very nice about it all. Left. Got home, STILL uneven. The next morning I called the salon at 8:15 and was told I could not come back that morning. There was no one who could fix it plus I would be charged more if someone else fixed it. I also told to come back in a week when the owner was back from vacation. very disappointed. Spent $125 for a bad haircut! I will never go back! read more

I live in the city and go out of my way to get my hair done (have had a different stylist each time- all fabulous) and eyebrows done by Angela. I've even brought my boyfriend to get his haircuts--- amazing work on men as well! About "Angela Eyebrows"-- She is THE best. From beginning to end, it's an experience. Thanks to her, I am on an eye brow recovery plan. She knows how to get the best shape for any face and I will never trust anyone else to touch my eyebrows. I recently got a facial from Jana and let me tell you 10/10!!! She accommodated me with booking an appointment and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time! Every step of the way she explained what she was doing and explained what it does for my skin. She even extracted my whole face and asked me to check and make sure she didn't miss anything... that's when u know the aesthetician cares! Just had the best experience with Belinda. Called Americana on Friday in a panic from a salon that totally messed my hair up. They gave me an appt for 8 am on Saturday morning for a quick fix. Belinda helped me and she wasn't satisfied completely and asked me to come back again today (Sunday) so that she could spend as much time with my hair to get it perfect. I just got married and booked Angela and Belinda to do my hair and makeup for myself, 6 bridesmaids, and some other family members. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup from my wedding guests. They brought 2 assistants with them to help speed up the process, as we had a 7:30 AM start time and had to be ready by 12 PM. Everyone worked quickly and efficiently to make sure everyone looked gorgeous, but was also satisfied with what the services they received. I was beyond impressed with the professionalism of everyone involved in the process. I had never gone to the salon before I had a hair and makeup trial for the wedding, but when I walked in I was impressed with how the salon looked. We were greeted by the front desk staff, who were all very kind, and were told to help ourselves to coffee, water, and bagels if we wanted. I had changed my mind as to what I wanted my hair to look like on my wedding day, even though I had had a trial, and Belinda did a great job recreating exactly what I wanted. I showed Angela how I wanted my makeup to look, and she went above and beyond to make sure that happened. Some of the girls had pictures of how they wanted their hair and makeup to look, and everyone did an amazing job recreating those looks. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have professional, fun, and overall awesome ladies working with them for their wedding day! I came here in a pinch needing a blowout. I had a medical issue and couldn't wash my own hair. They squeezed me in with no appointment. The staff was friendly, a bit pricey. $40 for a blowout? Ahhh lol a bit steep. I also felt a little uncomfortable when I heard one of the hairdressers talking to the woman who was blowing out my hair and telling her that she would be with me for a while and that it sucks that my hair was long. Other than that, I have to say the front desk and shampoo girls were so nice and my blowout lasted!!!!! Will be back after renovations. read more

My review is for Paula at the Salon! She is by far an amazing stylist. She has cut my hair near 30 years!! When I was younger I had every trendy hair style! Paula always took her time and gave me a cut to enhance me and my style. As I've gotten older she cuts my hair, which is more challenging, to my individuality and style. When I leave I am uplifted!!! Belinda is a miracle-worker. Not only did she break down the entire haircut process (I got the Ouidad haircut), she was incredibly sweet and understanding of my dilemma: until about 8 years ago, I had past-waist length curly hair. For some reason, my hair stopped curling the way I knew it to do and it killed me because it looked so awful (My hair was gorgeous, curly and shiny). Belinda explained the history behind the haircut, the purpose of good products; she didn't push the brand products on me, either; she wanted to see how my hair would react to my normal styling products first (though I'm going back to purchase the Ouidad products soon - they're GREAT), and the importance of a diffuser for my hairstyle. Before my appointment, I thought the haircut was slightly on the expensive side, - but then I understood. I didn't just pay for the (AWESOME) haircut. I paid for the master class and the advice that came with how to deal with my hair from now on. And that, to me, is just as important as the cut and worth EVERY penny. I wanted to leave a review as soon as I left the salon after my service, unfortunately life got in my way. I don't normally leave reviews unless I feel STRONGLY about something or someone (be it positively or negatively). This place NEVER disappoints me! I get my hair colored by Benito, who without fail knows exactly what color I like and gives me new suggestions on color based on the newest trends and products. Color in my hair used to not last very long but after going to him, my grays don't grow in for quite a long time! Right after, I get my hair cut and blown out by Belinda. She is amazing, quick and friendly! After her blow outs, I can go for at least 2 days without rewashing/redoing my hair. Angela is flawless in her work and precise about my eyebrow shape. She will make sure every hair is trimmed and shaped perfectly. Whenever I go there, the whole staff is so friendly. I am always offered coffee or something to snack on. On top of this, the place is going through a beautiful renovation. It is almost done and the place looks AMAZING! It is so trendy and makes you think you are in some fancy salon spending a million dollars on a haircut (even though you aren't). Their prices are very affordable. I am excited to see what else the salon has to offer after the renovation is complete. I have never gotten my nails done there but I know people that have. I hear that Sonja is amazing! I never write reviews. I walked into Americana today hating my hair (it was a gift hair cut at another salon.) I had never met Daisy the Colorist, in spite of being a long time Americana client. She greeted me with a big smile, and within minutes her upbeat personality and sweet sense of humor were undeniable. I went to her for balayage - and I was blown away by the awesome job she did. When she took a picture of the back of my hair and showed it to me - I honestly thought it wasn't my head! I had researched balayage the night before and loved the look- I never expected to be wearing that look the next day! I still can't believe that it's MY hair I'm looking at! The entire time with her was a master class in hair care. She showed me so many tricks, and answered my endless questions. Product advice. She even wrote things down for me without me asking. The only negative thing I have to say is that I'm afraid if too many people see this review - she won't be able to fit me in for an appointment again. I'm a very loyal client. They will charge you if you have to cancel your appointment. I"m a full-time working mom, whom recently is recovering from pneumonia. Needless to say, it's been difficult for me to get to the salon to get my hair cut. When I called and had to reschedule, the manger said she has to start charging me for cancellations. I have been a loyal client for several years. I will not return to this salon especially since the manager said she wanted to 'feel me out' to see how I would react to the potential charge. I was extremely insulted. They remolded and it looks nice. Perhaps the new cancel charges are to help pay for the renovations. read more

Wow! This salon is amazing! I recently moved to NJ from PA and had no clue where to go to get my eyebrows shaped. I had googled "Best Eyebrow Shaper in NJ" and Angela at Americana had some excellent reviews. I decided to try her and was amazed at the transformation she gave me with just one shaping. She called it her "Brow Magic" .well, she is definitely the holy grail of brows- I am going back in a few weeks for color and cut for a wedding I am in and am totally looking forward to it. The salon is under complete renovation and looks very chic and beautiful. I hope it's done when I go back, I can't wait to see the finished product. I had the best experience at Americana Salon. I went for a day of pampering and that is exactly what I experienced. Angie is wonderful for a pedicure and manicure, my manicure lasted me a good 2 weeks and not one chip! Bridget understood exactly what color I was looking to get and she matched it to perfection. I would go back to Roxanne for a haircut and blow out anytime. Last but not least you must visit Sonia for eyebrow shaping and Sahna for a great makeup application.
