The receptionist was wonderful and extremely friendly on the phone. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by the staff. The salon is beautiful and clean. I had a wonderful shampoo followed by a warm towel around my neck and scalp massage. I was in heaven!! My cut was quick and exactly what I wanted! Do not spend any time or money here. UPDATE: Owner called and refused to refund for services. She made excuses for the colorist and claimed I was told what to expect. I was not told I would walk out without a balayage and with red hair. I truly believe that if another method (foils, etc.) was the way to obtain my desired look, I should have been informed as I am not the hair expert. Very disappointing. SECOND UPDATE: Owner keeps updating his comments to my review and is now lying about what the stylist allegedly said. DO NOT VISIT AVANT GARDE. The photo of the end result that I posted says it all. No salon would take your money for an"balayage" and leave your hair like this. I was NEVER told I would have "red undertones" and when I was offered a glaze, I was not told I would have red hair unless I got a glaze. Jennette was very prompt with communication through email. When the wedding week approached, she came over to where I was staying at my mom's house and we did the trial, which I was absolutely satisfied with. She was completely on time on the day of the wedding and I looked awesome with her airbrush techniques. I had never had airbrush makeup, and she did an awesome job. She walked me down to her suite and Cecy said she could cut my hair in an hour. So I went to the Wellington mall and walked around a bit and came back. They had 3 girls in there and one lady washed my hair while Cecy was finishing up a client. The other lady was also doing someones hair. Cecy asked me how I wanted my hair, I asked her if she had any suggestions and she recommended putting kind of a layer effect in the front and I agreed. I asked her to only take off the dead ends and she did just that. She blew out my front and, while I did not ask for a full blow dry, I did not expect one so I am not sure if she charges more for that but I usually do not have patience to sit that long in chair. My hair cut is perfect and pricing is extremely reasonable. My new go to for a hair cut from now on.
