As everyone knows, the hardest thing to find is a great stylist. I think outside of finding a life partner, it's perhaps the 2nd most challenging role to fill :) Now imagine trying to find that during Covid when you've sought refuge in another state so your isolation is less isolated. Thankfully, Yelp led me to Salon LaBrea and even more importantly to Erin, who is literally listed in my cell phone as "Hair Goddess". Yes, she's that good and just an all around treasure! Erin has that perfect combination of creative and technical skills, along with the ability to hear what you're saying in layman terms and then the cherry on top, is that she just has such a lovely personalty! It's a true pleasure to go in and see her. I had made the mistake of attempting to cut my own hair during Covid, so Erin had to fix a butchered cut, color correct, take into account Florida sunshine oxidation with my very odd natural color profile ( I have to have primarily neutral tones used which isn't typical) and modify my color accordingly without straying too far from my medium brown, coppery color. Not an easy task for many but for Erin it was pretty effortless. I need my color done monthly and I would say that from day one she had my color on point but has made modifications along the way to give me even prettier hair. After two cuts, my butchered job is long gone. Even now as I type this and I'm due for another haircut, even grown out, it's gorgeous. People comment on what beautiful hair I have all the time and it's a true testimony of Erin's amazing abilities and craft. Even though I've now left Florida, I am actually going back to see her this month because I doubt I can find anyone half as good as Erin, who can do it all. I give Erin my highest possible recommendation and would happily give her 10 stars. read more

I decided to see if this Salon had any availability because they had great reviews and I was desperate for a trim and a tone because my ends were looking fried. First, there website was very easy to use and request an appointment. They had time for me on a Saturday! The location seems a little strange at first. It is in Abacoa, in a residential area that is also zoned for businesses. At first I assumed that google maps was taking me to the wrong address. Don't worry you aren't walking into someone's house. The salon is beautiful and very clean and welcoming. The moment I walked in I was greeted and asked if I would like anything to drink. The waiting room furniture is stylish and comfortable. Every detail in this salon has been well thought out. Erin did my glaze/gloss. The color came out perfect. Leah did my trim. First and last visit. Highlights were very disappointing. I called ahead to tell them what I wanted, my hair length and to get a price. I was told $135, but when I got to the register, I was charged $160. I was told sometimes they use extra products. There were no extra products. It was highlights only, no cut or blowout. I told her what colors my previous colorist used. She put in less than 25 foils, didn't get close to the roots and there was no time under the dryer to set it. Live and learn :( read more

I am new to the area and got lucky by finding a same day slot available here. I got a toner and cut. My stylist was AMAZING! She really listened to what I wanted. I was going to go darker all over but then she pointed out that I could do a toner and see how I liked it. She saved me about $80 and turns out, I miss the highlights so I'm glad she talked me into just the toner versus the all over darker color. Where do I begin? I found reviews for Vincent and booked my Goldwell color, glaze and cut with him. He has styled hair in top salons in NYC and New Jersey and has worked with some famous hair/celebrity stylists. Vincent applied my color methodically-section by section. Same with the glaze in his chair and not at the sink like other salons do. This salon is extremely clean and the front desk person is warm and friendly immediately offering you coffee or tea. I went in with complicated red/brown/blonde hair patches everywhere from having my hair stripped from black at another salon and I needed my hair to be corrected. Kelsey did an amazing job, she was so friendly and accommodating from start to finish- making me really feel comfortable and not pressured in the slightest. We talked about my hair and what I wanted and we decided that I was going to dye my hair to a rich chocolate brown, give it some caramel ombré with highlights. Amazing. Although it was a lengthy process, which in no way was at the hairdressers fault, Kelsey remained very accommodating and tending to my every need. A real plus in my mind. Although my hair was a hot mess when I walked in, I truly didn't realize how bad it was until she was finished with the new look. I absolutely love it and will definitely be going back to the salon. Based on customer service alone, the receptionist-Erin, the owner, Veronica and my hairdresser- Kelsey they were all so warm, friendly and accommodating. I love this boutique salon! I have been getting my hair done with Veronica for two years and am always super happy with the results. I have also seen Erin and Kelsey and they are wonderful too!!
