Wish I could give zero stars. Home warranty company sent Emerald Coast out to evaluate my A/C issue in Gulf Breeze, FL. I already had a reputable company come out and diagnose the problem and provide a quote, but I had to go through the process with this company. EC told me that I needed a new condenser as it had a leak and there was no refrigerant. I already knew this. When they submitted their report to the home warranty company, I needed a new condenser AND all of the sudden I needed a new air handler too. There were also "non-covered" warranty items totaling over $5,000 for things I did not need. I had the condenser replaced for $3100 without a bunch of made up charges. What a scam. They are ripping off the warranty company as well as ripping off the customer. read more

I went through my home warranty to get my AC checked. The first company asked me if I wanted him to tell my home warranty company that I needed an new unit or if I wanted him to just replace the needed part. I told him whatever is needed. I didn't trust the company because he was willing to go behind the warranty companies back. I still would have had to pay him $1800. I got a second quote. They decided not to do a repair quote at all, just a replacement quote. They quoted me $8,000+. The guy came into my home, sat close to me, mentioning that he doesn't bite, and if he does something... I dont recall but it was something slick and inappropriate. He put his hand on my back as he was talking to me. I felt so uncomfortable! This company, Emerald Coast Air Conditioning and Heating INC came out and informed me that my freeon was low and that someone had turned the valve off outside. In a matter of minutes my AC was working after waiting weeks. I am very grateful that they were able to fix the issue and didn't just see dollar signs. They were peofessional. The auality of service was great. He explained things to me so that i understood what was going on. DO NOT USE THIS INCOMPETENT COMPANY! Complaint #1: I had a clogged drain line a last summer which caused the pan to overflow. Since there was no safety shutoff I had Emerald Coast to install one at $400. I have religiously poured vinegar down the drain line per the technicians instructions. In April the line clogged again in spite of the maintenance the safety shutoff failed. When I reached out to the owner by phone he ghosted me for over a month. After sending him a stern email he offered to replace the failed shutoff. I immediately responded with a one week timeline I would be available. Once again no response. In the meantime I have discovered $2500 worth of damage to my unit closet and wood floors. Mr. Heal has since refused to replace the failed shutoff or accept responsibility for any damage caused by his company's incompetence. Complaint #2: A sensor in the 5 year old hvac went out. The smokestack they sent to my house replaced the entire motor ($1000) instead of just the sensor ($300). He did not tell me that Carrier has a 10 year warranty on their motors. Carrier would have paid to replace it. The tech spent 45 minutes of the hour he was here smoking in his truck, stinking up my house and left the butts in my driveway. read more

They were selected by my home warranty company, I did not pick them. It has been 5 weeks since the process started in getting a new AC installed at one of my properties. They blamed all the problems on the warranty company and when I stated that someone there wasn't doing their job, they said I threatened the technician. Let me be clear, I threatened no one. I never even saw the technician! Well I started reviewing the numerous bad reviews they've received and the fact that they have an F rating and are not accredited with the BBB, I feel like after 5 weeks of run around, I just dodged more frustration! Absolute worst. My home warranty selected these folks to service my system. They came and topped up the refrigerant but did not address the leak or root cause of the issue. 32 days later my system failed again. Bc it was past the 30 day period, they rejected a recall for the issue. Then they cancelled the next "new" service call and in doing so, they said it was "no longer a problem." Not sure who EVER made such a decision bc my house was 90 degrees. So... still a problem. They wouldn't return our calls and have shown no interest in helping us or even explaining why there is still an issue barely a month after they serviced the system and collected our money. System has failed again, they took our money, and won't even talk to us now that it has failed again. Bottom line is that they don't stand behind their work and they will abandon you at the first sign of trouble. Do not trust them bc they don't deserve it. Unmitigated failure in terms of workmanship and customer service. Complete lack of caring and compassion. Walked away in a time of need. In their industry, crises happen at the worst time, but these people will leave you when you need them most. Check the reviews on Google. The trend is obvious; these folks don't give a shit about you or your problems. Zero stars; that was possible. I called Andersen and they were out the next day. Pick someone else. read more

My A/C went out over the weekend, and my home warranty company assigned Emerald Coast Air Conditioning and Heating as our service company. On Sunday, I called the company to request emergency service, willing to pay their weekend premium and outside of the home warranty service agreement. Over the course of that day, I was assured at least 7 times that a tech or dispatcher would contact me and come to my house for emergency service. I never received a single call back. I called another company (Mooneyham) who arrived within an hour and who offered emergency service at half the rate of Emerald Coast. They serviced my system, but were unable to complete a repair with the emergency kit. On Monday, I tried to coordinate a scheduled time for the tech to come to my house. I was running late, so I contacted the company to let them know I was on the way. I received a text message that the tech was coming, but I never got a text message or phone call that they arrived nor did I see them knock on my door through my smart doorbell. After I arrived at home, I called the company multiple times trying to ascertain where the tech was, and if I had missed them or if they were still coming. Each time I called, I was assured of a call back. I didn't hear from the company until close of business when they texted me to say that they would call me to reschedule. My A/C is still on limited life and I have serious doubts that Emerald Coast will follow through with their service promises. The only positive is that each time I called the receptionists (which do not have the authority to do basically anything, apparently), they were very polite and engaged in the conversation. read more
