He was a lot more personable than most and didn't slap me with a bunch of overpriced package deals. He worked so well with us and I am very satisfied with my choice. We were looking for a photographer who would accommodate our family of 8 and not overcharge like most places. Daymaker was it! They were on it from the beginning working with our schedule and even met us at our location. The photgrapher was very nice and polite. He took many great pictures and did not only limit us to 20 or less like most places in the area. We received our pictures back in just a few weeks as promised and they turned out great. Our little one can be difficult to get to smile for photos and he was able to capture some really pretty photos of her playing in the sand/water with a big grin on her face, that we will treasure. Our total cost was around $275, a reduced military rate I believe (with 25% down to get on his schedule). I paid a $999 deposit in good faith after being told a wedding coordinator would be part of my package and would reach out once I booked. Shortly after paying, I learned there was no designated wedding coordinator and that the role was being filled informally by a family member. (Imagine being an out-of-town bride and learning this information after) This critical information was not disclosed prior to payment and would have absolutely affected my decision to book. When I attempted to cancel immediately after learning this, I was unable to reach Jamie for a few days. Once we finally spoke (less than 30 days after payment and before any services were performed), I was told I would only receive a refund if someone else booked my date -- which could take months. This is unreasonable and unfair, especially since my cancellation was due to undisclosed information. Since then, I have experienced deflection, delays, and refusal to take accountability. This entire situation has caused unnecessary stress during what should be a joyful time. Brides: please be extremely cautious. Ask very specific questions and get everything in writing before paying anything. He presents himself as a Methodist pastor, which gave me a sense of trust and reassurance. Sadly, the way this situation was handled did not align with that expectation.

Last year, we decided to look into hiring a photographer to take our family pictures as we were worried that the BP oil spill could possibly ruin the beautiful white sand beaches of Destin that we love. After looking into a number of photographers, we decided on Expressions Beach Portraits and could not be more pleased. They didn't charge a sitting fee and the deposit we put down went towards our order. The price was incredibly reasonable especially considering the quality of the professional photos we received. The photographer came and met us at our favorite spot and did a great job getting our two toddlers to not only look at the camera, but also smile while looking (something we have yet to be able to do ourselves!) We were able to purchase all our photos in an electronic format and had a hard time deciding which one to feature on our Christmas cards since there were so many great shots to choose from.
