Non deserving of a star. I have had so many horrible experiences with them, and I still manage to come back. Just paid them a visit august 1st. for my son's face. We assume impetigo. This visit was when we found out they no longer take my hmo insurance through Florida blue. Great. $150, but it's an emergency so I obliged. Very aggravating though :) We see the doctor, she's great. I say it's impetigo. She agrees, but didn't do any more thorough inspections of her own, so I assume that's definitely what he has. She prescribed him a topical ointment. We have been applying as needed every single day since, and it hasn't gotten better. It's not horribly worse, but not better. I call back August 7 (today) asking if there's any way we could be prescribed antibiotics because HE STARTS SCHOOL IN 4 DAYS. the nurse says "if you hold I will speak with a doctor and see what he says." *5 seconds later* "sorry ma'am you're going to have to come in for another check up" ma'am, it's only been 5 seconds, there's no way you talked to a doctor... she gets defensive saying she doesn't know where this conversation is going and that she doesn't have the energy to argue. I hang up. No resolution. Only money to be spent. Idk. Maybe this is just the American health system, and they don't do pro-bono or help those who really can't afford healthcare without insurance. I'm a single mother on one income and have spent $450 in the last week, including this last visit, on top of school supplies and clothes shopping for my son. Didn't think asking for an oral antibiotic required another $150 appointment just to be like "yes you're right, here's a prescription for amoxicillin" please do better. Not everyone can pull money out of their ass, especially when you stop taking their insurance a day before they show up for a walk in appointment. read more

Highly recommend the waitlist prior to arriving especially if the line is long. The staff are helpful and work quickly. Depending on the day and the amount of tourists in town, it can get quite busy. The PA was nice however I was dismissed when I made a guess as to my own diagnosis. I left without antibiotics only to receive an emergency call the following day saying I needed to pick up antibiotics at the local pharmacy after my labs came through. read more

Came in to be seen about a very painful finger. Turns out it was broken and the doctor at the time of my visit had no plans to help with pain management and when I asked if he could seeing as that's part of why I was here on a Friday on my vacation, instead he said I could take ibuprofen and then follow up in a week if I was still experiencing that pain. Cool, thanks for that very helpful explanation. I had been alternating between Tylenol and ibuprofen since the incident and it wasn't helping and the pain was worse so I wrongly assumed I would receive proper care for that. Went there for chronic cough. Got a shot, meds, and an inhaler. A few days go by and not getting any better. I call them back and was told I had to go back in for any further diagnosis or new meds. When I arrive, I'm asked why I'm there and not the ER. Was told not to go back there again for the same issue and needed to go to the ER or "I could die." Went to the ER ultimately, they asked for a copy of my X-rays performed at the urgent care and I told them they never provided a copy even though they recommended I immediately go to the ER. While on vacation, I had to go to Emerald Coast Urgent Care. And whereas I was there for an hour and a half, (the waiting room was full 30 minutes after it opened) I feel like the staff was very efficient with all of the patients, it just happened to be a rush as soon as they opened. They even brought me back to run a test so the results would be ready by the time I was called back. All of the staff were very efficient, kind and upbeat! read more

The lady who welcomed everyone in today was AMAZING! It was so full in the waiting room and she was super sweet and helpful to everyone who came in. A lot of places, they can get a little overwhelmed and snippy, but she was killing it with a smile on her face. Every time we go, once you're back, you're typically out pretty quickly (obviously depending on your needs). They work quickly and have always listened and answered any questions! We have gone here for several years. It's really hard to get into our pediatrician on short notice, so this is our first option now. read more

I was taken good care of from the minute I walked in the door. Greeted by a very nice and helpful receptionist, I waited only a few minutes when I was called by a nurse to go back to a room. She was very nice, took my blood pressure and made sure I was comfortable, then told me another nurse would be in shortly. The next nurse came in just as equally friendly and with empathy fixed a bed for me to lay upright in while she looked at the would, put liquid medication on it and said the Dr had a couple of patients before me but would be in asap. I didn't have to wait long at all. The doctor came in , looked at my arm and explained everything to me making sure I understood and that I had no questions for him. While we were in and out pretty quickly I wasn't satisfied with the care. The exam room seemed pretty dirty. The doctor, Dr.Nichols kind of seemed annoyed when we told him our daughter had a temp and they not once took her temperature and then I said she probably has an ear infection he almost seemed annoyed and what do you know... she had an ear infection. He then said he would go write the prescription and come back to speak with us and never came back. read more

Staff were nice enough and professional, but they were shortstaffed and overworked. The online system told me to come in in an hour and 45 minutes. After I got there, I still had to wait two hours and 15 minutes in the lobby and another hour in the room in the back to see the doctor for three minutes. Their system either needs to be more accurate or just do away with it completely and have everybody on a walk in bases. I think it would've been faster that way. read more

Super quick and great care. The team was great with my toddler who had an ear infection and she explained so well about his ear tubes, infection, treatment, etc. I didn't feel like she was rushing me out the door either; which can happen in some urgent cares. I have been sick for over 2 weeks. The RN did not look in my sinuses, listen to my chest or look in my ears. When we raised these issues she said yes I did I'm sorry you missed it. Then she pushed the device against the outside of my ear without going inside and said looks good. She sent a different person in to give us the Rx. She spoke very fast and was annoyed when we asked questions and said I just told you. I'm breastfeeding so I have to ask questions about Rxs. She only gave anti nausea meds and a nose spray. It was an incredibly disrespectful interaction that did not address all of my needs. read more

Dr. Nichols and his team were amazing! There were several other people in the waiting room when I arrived. I assumed I would be there for a couple of hours. It was the complete opposite. I was in the waiting room for about 30 minutes. It only took 5 minutes to be seen by the doctor upon arriving to the exam room. Dr. Nichols addressed all of my concerns and sent prescriptions to my pharmacy right away! This was not an isolated experience. My children have used this Urgent Care also and have had wonderful care without it taking hours! I highly recommend this office! read more

We are from out of town and while driving into Destin I was not feeling well so I started looking for an urgent care. There were several to choose from but this one had great reviews on google. It did not disappoint. I was able to book online, the receptionist was very helpful, the nurse was great - I was running a fever and she got some Tylenol and even asked if I preferred cold or room temperature water!
