I live nearby and have been to Skipper's Cove over a dozen times. The boat launches are what you…read morewould expect - launch your boat and pay the self-service fee for day use. the Marina itself is where you go if you are renting a houseboat or meeting friends who have one moored there. It sounds like most of the reviews focus on the marina itself and the staff, so here's what I have seen when going there: 1. in my experiences the staff was courteous and helpful, directing me where to stop to unload and park for free, saying "hi" or asking "how are you doing?" etc. 2. the bathrooms were easily the cleanest at any marina i've ever seen. they are simple, but not gross in any way. I'm guessing they are cleaned multiple times every day based on the smell of cleaning products 3. some of the young guys that worked there offered to help my wife and kids carry things down the ramp to the floating docks 4. there's a store on the dock if you forget any essentials. it was reasonably priced. frozen otter pops were 25c each, which was cool for the kids 5. i haven't interacted with the women who work there, so i can't comment on their attitudes. they definitely look busy, so maybe that''s part of the problem other people have experienced my take is that they make most of their money by leasing slips and mooring for ski boats/house boats. a lot of people live there, or come every weekend to use the houseboats they own, so it's a community on the water. All the negative reviews are from people coming in from out of town, so maybe the focus is on catering to the local crowd over people who might come up once a year (or once ever).

Kicks us out into 104 degree heat. Then she called 4 security chumps who then attacked my mother both verbaly and puffed their chest to where she was frightened. The owner laughed at me when I tried to explain it to her, refunded our deposit after us threatening the police. Then she chuckled, said this was the 3rd person to complain today. What??? Not to mention: The entire house boat was in shambles. The refrigerator didnt work, worker came to fix it and said they have been thinking about replacing for a while. They said they knew it would break, and waited for us to have old food and realoze it was broken to make sure it was working. The places comes with NOTHING. One roll of tp per bathroom, a ceptic large enough for 10 people for 2 days (despite selling it to 20 people for however long), a half working generator that can power the stove and thats it, 2 plugin areas for electronics only at the kitchen. Nothing upstairs. It was a heatwave, they didn't bother to offer fans or anything to keep the place cool. Staff was horrible, i mean so bad I am getting a lawyer with our moldy fridge photos and my recordings of the incident and at least filing a BBB report.

We stayed near the office in the 60s (don't suggest if you dont like noise, weekend live music, or crowds), we've stayed in the 100s, we've stayed all over this camp ground, but mostly we've stayed in the 200s. My least favorite place to camp was the sites near the office because of all the noise, loud music, close vicinity to the showers and swarms of people everywhere, especially in the summertime. For the past 5 years or so we enjoy staying in the 200s due to the low noise since in that area, it's only 1 row of campers, the ease of accessibility to the water for boat owners & quick access to swimming & lounging in the lake. The 200s are a quick bike ride or drive to the showers (we usually bring an extra car). And it's full electricity & water hook ups too. In the hot summer months, the water is perfect here to just lounge and do nothing but relax, chat for hours & soak in nature's Vitamin D from the sun. I personally love this place for the lovely tallow products by walkerstallowproducts.com that they sell in their adorable store. They also sell food, drinks, jewelry, mugs, tea, snacks, candy, some veggies, fishing stuff, ice & espresso drinks. My kids love their daily ice creams in many different flavors (they give free samples!). Hubby loves fishing here for the bass & trout. The BEST tasting fish tacos, or fish with rice, or fish sandwiches is when you catch, clean, and fish fry the same day with Zatarans & cassava flour. It's the best fish I've ever tasted. I highly suggest. This place is our annual RV camping tradition for the past 12 years & holds many memories for me & my family & I highly suggest it. If you know dates you want to stay here, I highly suggest booking a reservation a year in advance especially for major holidays. They fill up super fast.

Getaway...really away...and enjoy the best boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife viewing and more! With 167 miles of forested shoreline, come prepared to get lost in nature. Have your own boat? Outstanding. If not, Lake Oroville Marina is fully-equipped and 5-star staff is there to serve. Watercraft rentals -- party, fishing and power boats, personal watercraft -- or houseboat rentals, there is absolutely something for everyone including wave board rentals and tubing. We enjoyed three days and two nights of Forever Resorts houseboating pleasure. Home was never like this! In fact, our 4-bedroom houseboat was larger than my first home. Waking up on the water...there's nothing quite like it. Not my first houseboating experience and I hope it won't be my last. The houseboats have all the amenities and are fully equipped. You just show-up with food and drink and away you go. Great for groups who can share the costs -- very economical. Nothing more incredible than starlit skies, quiet nights, or sunrise and sunset over the lake. If you have your own fishing boat, bring it along. Lake Oroville provides world-class fishing opportunities. Plus, wonderful to explore the various arms of the Feather River and stunning waterfalls. The lake temps are the perfect chill for a warm summer day. Floating, boat-in and group camping managed by California State Parks. Nearby Chico and historic Oroville provide other diversions, too. If you're feeling lucky, check out Gold Country Casino. Lake Oroville Marina is managed by Forever Resorts an authorized concessioner of the National Park Service and state and public agencies, and operates under special use permits with the USDA Forest Service. They are an excellent host!
