Were told when we checked in they had made up our cabin just for us. Would hate to have seen it if they hadn't made it up!! Numerous cobwebs, even after my husband wiped down at least 5 of them. The mini fridge had dead flies. The facilities were run down. No working jets for the hot tub. Were told they limited the number of single men so women would not be stared at, that was also not the case. I would never go back to this resort! read more

Not our first time but definitely our longest stay so far. Started out as an anniversary get away for 2 days. We have a 5th wheel RV and decided to Extend to 4 days. Woke up and decided to stay for a month. Now this place does need to be given a little lipstick job. Just a little dated as far as the look and decor. But a minor thing in exchange for the peace and tranquility you get here! If they update the property a little pre I'd definitely be open to be a permanent resident! read more

Only spent the evening because of off propety visits in the day while in town. Check-in was smooth, friendly, and quick with a quick tour, too. The setting was nice with the pine trees and lake. One bed cabin was small but nice. Had everything I needed. The back porch with enclosed sides overlooking the lake was great. I did use the indoor jacuzzi and met a very nice guest. The evening music at the pool was way too loud and went on nonstop until it shut down. I'm sure people couldn't hear each other speak without yelling into one's ear with a megaphone. I'll definitely be going back and look forward to a broader experience. I'll probably leave before the DJ fires up in the evening. Overbearing music is just not my thing. read more

We had heard about this place for a while but never tried going because it is/was a "family resort". While we dont care what anyone does we prefer to not be naked around those under 18. We went last summer after being told for months that "there hasn't been any kids here in a long time" so we decided to give it a shot. Well after paying the day fee and finding our friends by the pool who had also been told the same thing "no kids", imagine our shock when in walks a toddler with his mom and he just going from person to person. We were there about 30 minutes total and left. As did our friends. It would be an ok place but the kids ruin it IMO. Again this was last summer 2023. read more

A Beautiful private Lake. We had a nice swim Then sunbathed. Then took the paddle boat out and went fishing. I caught two, she caught four. I'm still hearing about that. We cooled off in the Pool and sunbathed some more. At Dusk we watched the sunset from the Hot tub. Finally we ended our day around the Firepit socializing with some great folks. We wanted to try something we've never tried before. Since we both love camping, being outdoors, AND being naked, then we went on a search for, hopefully, a nudist campground here in Texas that was decent enough yet wouldn't set us back an arm and a leg. There are some expensive nudist resorts in Texas, that's for sure! However, we came across Emerald Lake down in Porter, TX. Seemed like a simple place. A beautiful lake, lots of trees, jacuzzis, a pool, a swimming beach, gameroom, tent sites, RV sites, a lake house, paddleboats, etc. And the price wasn't nearly as outrageous as some of the others in the state. Found their website and looked them over. We decided to give them a try. We wanted to come during the week as to avoid large crowds, as they had a biker event coming up the following weekend. Upon arrival it was quiet and the staff was very nice upon checking in. We rented one of the Lake House rooms (#4) and unloaded our stuff. The room was small but manageable. Very clean with a great porch area to overlook the pool and lake area. We stripped down and started our mini-vacation. Everyone we came into contact with was courteous and nice. We met a few of the permanent residents and all were very kind. At no time did we ever feel like we were being stared at or any other uneasiness, for that matter. We will definitely be going back someday! read more

Went here for the first time on Labor Day 9/4/23. Spoke with the awesome lady at the office. She was great, gave me an overall layout in the office which I didn't mind. A great place to be free, I mean free from clothes. Spent most of the day there hanging out with a young couple. I will definitely be back for their events. Worth the 50 min. Drive up there. March 20, 2018 - early in the season, and it was 72 degrees and sunny as I headed home from Iowa to Houston. So I figured - let's check out this place! Today was not a busy day. Just me, a gal and a guy at the pool. They were at opposite end of the pool so I pluncked down between them. Had some work to do for awhile, and when I finished, I went to get a water from my car. As I passed the gal, she breezily started a conversation. How cool! So we talked for hours...and turned what could have been a typical solo day at the pool into a great day of genuine conversation. Yeah, we were nekkid, but it only seemed to enable more heartfelt discussion. How refreshing to get away from ads, tv, commercialism, politics, etc and just chat up a (former) stranger about life and living happy. This is not a '5 star resort' by appearances (maybe a 3.5), but the people who come here make it a great place to reground and reconnect. read more

Cabin was very clean and was impressed that it had all the linens, soaps, coffee, etc. probably won't be back though because the music was pretty bad, not catered to the age of clientele that were there, it was only the favorite choice music of the person playing it. I actually went there yesterday and even though I don't live in the Houston area and I'm from Seattle, WA. But my parents live in Kingwood. And me since I love being naked in public and being nude. I decided to check out the place. And I had a lot of fun going there, the people there are really nice. The pool is extremely nice, and I also really loved being naked in the hot tub as well. And also it's a gated complex so whenever you get there, you do have to call their office number in order to get buzzed in and this takes a lot of patience, because sometimes they might not be there when it opens. But luckily, and hopefully for me there was someone with the truck that was getting in too and you can tailgate in back of people to get in as well as long as you call the number at least 2 or 4 times. And people don't mind if you tailgate from behind and go in. And then once you get there you have to go into their office and hand in ID and fill out some paperwork. And then beforehand, I actually looked up the ground rules and the rates and how to get in and even got a tour of the place and The whole resort is really nice and really wonderful. And as long as you don't do anything weird or bad or anything stupid or awful. People there will treat you good and will want to be around you. And so yeah for me. I had a really great time and I'm glad that I got to check out the place while being in Houston. And if I'm ever in the Houston area again, I'm definitely gonna go there again. We felt at home as soon as we pulled in. Everyone there welcomed us, and could not do enough to share their friendship. Bill helped us park our 65foot long rig, checked on us every day making sure we were ok. The pool was sparkling, the grass was mowed, and the spa was wonderful. I would have liked a little more room between Rv spaces, but it worked. We will be back in the fall. Wal-Mart just around corner also. read more

It was my first visit to any naturist facility. Kind of a 'bucket' list' thng. I wanted to skinny dip where I was legal and could feel free. As I stripped at my car, people were on the office porch. I felt a slight 'rise' thinking strangers were seeing me naked. That soon passed, and I soon felt comforable, even though I was a single male. I enjoyed swimming in both the pool and lake, and I hiked naked to the end of the property to the primitive camping woods. People were casual and allowed me complete privacy to enjoy myself without embarrassment. It was as much fun as I had imagined. I went during the week to minimize any immodest feelings from a big crowd. When I go back, it will be a Saturday as I now know what to expect... read more

Went there yesterday to just look around to see the changes they have made to see if we were going to start going there again. The lady at the office was very rude & wanted to charge us 30.00 just to be there about 20 min to see the place. We showed up about 4:30 because we were not planning on staying. I will drive 2 hours to go to star ranch in McDade where the people are friendly. read more
