A review was made with utter lies about my stay with Lonestar, so I'll make an "in response" review to clarify. We have a brand new 2019 travel trailer, along with new hoses & sewer connection pieces. Nothing about our connections were ever "improper or not up to code" as claimed. None of the many RV parks we have stayed with since purchasing our rig has ever found us to be anything other than model guests. Ironic the first negative review I have had to make about a park results in this behavior from staff. I find it completely deplorable that a business would conduct themselves in such a petty manner. Rather than address legitimate issues with the park, or accept an honest review they decide to ATTACK a guest both verbally and in written form. Then proceed to spread lies in an attempt to discredit an honest review. I'm appalled and you should be ashamed of yourselves. As far as my dog who has been through training and obeys all given commands both on and off leash we've never had any issues controlling him as he is incredibly well behaved. The only time he was ever not on a leash was when entering our camper, or our vehicle. All of two steps from the tire of my car to inside the backseat!!! We were neighborly and remain friendly with the other guest that were closest to our site. Our only issue was with the staff! It's nearly impossible to speed through the park due to the large amount of ducks freely roaming the entire park, so enough said on that. We are not smokers, so not sure how cigarettes could have possibly affected the cleanliness our site.... The claim that we owed any balance is completely baseless!! Actually we could've been owed a credit if your policy wasn't strictly against any refunds. We voluntarily left 3 days early after being repeatedly harassed and berated by park staff, even though we pre paid for our entire months stay. I suggest some serious policy change in accepted staff behavior if you ever plan to remain in business. The attacking and defamation of guests is just completely unacceptable, you have been reported.

We enjoyed staying here, they were very easy to work with and reasonably accommodating. We've stayed in both the day spots and in the longer stay section, both were nice. They keep the grounds very clean and tidy which is difficult with all those beautiful pine trees! Our dog loved the dog park, that was a big deciding factor in us choosing this place. The laundry room was always clean and working, as well as the showers. The bathrooms could probably used a little more cleaning but I understand with that many people, it's gotta be difficult to maintain. We also appreciated the prices, we didn't feel like we were being over charged, we definitely got our money worth in staying at lone star rv resort.

Great bass lake, get a hit almost every cast! Haven't found the big ones yet, but these juvenile bass fight like they are!

Plenty of trees and ducks. Great location. Good facilities. Propane fills available on site.

New park management! I lived at Forest Retreat for 3 years,…read morefor the most part I had a good experience, great neighbors, and the park management kept the park clean and maintained. The new park management are a husband and wife team. Nepotism never works within any industry. I had a run in with the park manager named Mark, after seeing my dog playing with my neighbors dog he approached me and asked me to keep my dog on a leash, it's the rule so I did, while speaking with my neighbor with my dog on a leash he walked up to us and asked me if I was going "to comply" I didn't answer bc his approach was too aggressive, he didn't like that so raised his voice and again asked if I would comply, I just looked over at my neighbor, Mark said "don't look at him, do you comply"? I got up and left without saying anything. It was a weird confrontation. Next Mark stalked me in his golf cart, video taped me, then followed me back to my spot, when I was about to enter my Rv I turned and noticed him parked in my driveway video taping me again. I gave my 30 day notice bc I will not be intimidated, stalked and harassed by a little man who doesn't possess the temperament to be a park manager. If you complain to the front office, you complain to his wife, so there is no accountability for the lack of action to this matter, so there will never be consequences for such egregious behavior. The park has gone down hill, and occupancy has gone down since this duo arrived. If you plans to stay long term, think twice, there are many RV parks in that vicinity.

Noise from all areas. I get the nearby stadium loudspeaker, the rodeo park at end of road with Fast and Furious cars all night, and late night loud music from bar across the back pond but when it's all day from someone in the park and just disrespectful and rude and nothing is done about it but they tell you they're working on it so you continue to pay monthly that's wrong. Worse when it's a grown older adult causing the issue. And the If you're not in the low paying clique and you're paying for the most expensive spot losing you is ok compared to clique. Do your research. Lots of parks in the area. I have pics of grass uncut and mattresses laying outside for days but will have to find review site that allows photos. Hope this helps someone. Oh and don't expect any electricity refund soon after leaving. A nearby park gave us same day we left but here we are still waiting for our refund from Forest Retreat.

I'm in new caney for work, the rates were reasonable so I moved in... night one I walk into the shower up at the office, only to find a homeless man asleep in the shower, within the first month I was there, there was 2 drug busts... one meth lab, and a guy was busted for 3 pounds of marijuana. I was woke up 2 times in the middle of the night by my neighbors wife looking for help because her boyfriend had beaten her up, the cops were constantly called. The people that occupy the park are TRASH... the owner assured me that the park didn't flood, but within a few weeks we had the first big rain of the season, and was barley able to save mine or the other 4 trailers in my area, the owner did NOTHING to try and help, I was the only person with a truck so after I pulled everyone out, I had to wait almost 5 hours before he would let me move to another spot. 5 hours in the middle of the driveway with no power, just sitting there. I didn't talk to many people but the few that I did warned me not to bring my kids around the park because there were 5 registered sex offenders in the park. (I looked it up) even after all of this I stayed there until my job was finished, payed my rent early, gave a 30 day notice to move and STILL the owner screwed me out of my deposit. Unless you're some desperate family with literally no where else to go please do yourself a favor and don't stay here... the "pool" is green, and full of moss, the cable never works, and I'm not sure how many syringes I walked over when walking my dog... I don't write reviews, it's not really my thing... but this place should not be in business. There are other parks in the area that are way nicer. Don't stay here.
