    I've been a happy customer with Emerald Landscaping. I worked with many landscape companies only to be disappointed with the services. Emerald stepped in and turned our centers around. I've worked with Steve, Marco and Dennis for the past 2 years. Proactive team, they give us ideas, what is needed and they also work with us on our landscape budgets. They started at our DMV in Tracy and we now hired them to manage our larger accounts throughout the Central Valley. Thank you Emerald Landscaping for making our jobs easier as property managers!

    kinda early guys!!!!! 7:30am in the morning?! gee wish i wasn't up till 3:30am with a sick child! 5 homes were effected by this early morning bs! not ok! adding mulch.

    Some info about the damage caused by gas-powered leaf blowers, like those used by Emerald Landscape Company.

    ENVIRONMENTALLY UN-FRIENDLY!!! This very page reads "Emerald Landscape utilizes environmentally friendly practices to reduce pollutants..." For years, neighbors have been making the simple request that Emerald switch from gas-powered to electric leaf blowers for the health of the residents, visitors, and the workers themselves. But they do not. Thankfully their idea of "landscaping" is to blow dust around for 20 minutes and leave.

    WORST LANDSCAPING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. JUST RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If you are thinking about using this company save yourself the grief and avoid them. I unfortunately do not have a choice as I live in a HOA that uses this company. Nick claims that he is a landscape "designer" with several degrees and many years of experience. I will post pictures of his landscape "design" on my front yard and let everyone reading this review be the judge of his "design". This all started when I moved into community in Danville around October of 2017. When I purchased the home there was a nice green lawn in the front yard. Although there were some small areas of the lawn that needed some maintenance it was in decent shape. After about a month or two those areas worsened and spread. I contacted my HOA to request that the lawn be maintained and restored to its original condition. Repeated requests over the span of 10 months and nothing was done to maintain or fix my lawn. 10 months is a very long time to neglect a lawn in need of maintenance and my lawn was beyond repair at that point. When Nick and Emerald Landscape finally decided to look at my lawn they claimed that grass would not grow and had to replace my lawn with another type of landscape design. This was briefly and vaguely explained to my husband at 7am on a Thursday morning and when I arrived home from work that day and he told me the landscaping plan was to take out the entire lawn I was not happy. I planned on contacting the HOA and Emerald landscape to express my concerns. I left the next morning (Friday) to work and when I arrived home at 4:30 pm my lawn was completely gone. For a company to take no action for over 10 months and then suddenly make such a drastic change overnight shows they no idea what customer service entails. Fast forward to about a month later as I have watched this so called landscape "design" turn into an ugly mess of a front yard. I contacted Nick and requested he come to my home, so we could discuss my concerns about the landscaping "design". He agreed to meet with me on a Friday morning at 7:30 am. In previous emails Nick had mentioned that he was responsible for the planning and maintenance of the landscaping at our community and the HOA board were merely following his advice and recommendations. He stated I should "direct further landscape items" to him. When I answered the door, I was surprised to see the HOA president as well - I guess he needed backup. Each time I expressed an opinion I was told that I was being "argumentative". It seems that if I disagree with Nick this equates to being "argumentative". Overall it was a planned attempt to dismiss my concerns and tell me nothing was going to be changed. In Nick's email he expressed a willingness to listen to my concerns and work with me toward a solution that would be best for everyone involved - that was the reason I contacted him. In person it was a completely difference experience - a experience I wouldn't wish on anyone else. Nick left the discussion by throwing his hands in the air and saying, "I'm done" and walking away. I was merely expressing my opinion in a calm, composed and polite manner and he just couldn't take it. This is a level of unprofessionalism that I have never experienced before. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

    FAIL:  These rosebushes were full of blooms this morning.  This is how Emerald Landscaping destroyed our beautiful roses.  Shame

For the past two years I was watering my lawn all the time, sometimes twice a day during Summer and whenever we vacationed or left home for a week I was always worried about the lawn dying and all the effort it would take to regrow. It started to become a chore rather than something enjoyable. We finally decided to get a Sprinkler System installed and so glad we found Jon. Communication was great right away with super fast replies on Yelp and I believe Jon even came the next day for an estimate. He finished the sprinkler system in less than a week which is what he quoted with excellent attention to detail and a very honest price. The complexity was we were doing concrete work at the time so there were two contractors at our house at the same time. He set me up with a 3 zone system, the front area is exposed to a lot of sun and I always struggled with keeping things growing there. The cool thing is the Rachio system he installed automatically chooses ideal times to water based on daily weather reports. You can see the "after" pictures which show my lawn is still nice and green despite the heat and now I get to water for pleasure instead of doing it as a task! I enjoyed bantering with Jon as well, he is a very knowledgeable guy and also very easygoing and chill to talk to.

Raul came by on time and gave me a fair and reasonable estimate so I made an appointment for the work to be done. We had to re-schedule once due to rain as water and power tools don't exactly go together well. Again, no hassle with changing the day. On the planned day, Raul showed up with another guy on time. We had him trim up 3 fruit trees, 3 palm trees, trim 10 bushes to candle shape, and clean up some junipers. He did the work well in a timely manner. Cleaned up everything. I paid him our agreed upon amount and DONE! He made a good suggestion as to a hill area which I took. Everything was easy as pie. I will most certainly be using them again for some summer clean up.

She doesn't seem to appreciate the business we were trying to give her. We like helping our locals but this is ridiculous She doesn't return calls or do what she says. When you do finally get her on the phone she cuts you short and says I have another customer. Hangs up on your and I'm tired of trying to help this local business. She should definitely learn some customer service skills. Thank goodness for Sloat on Kirker pass and Concord Blvd, they have really nice people there.

To my point, this could have been communicated so much better instead of through the Receptionist, who tried to get a hold of Henry or maybe you, but stated you didn't have to call me back. I had left voicemails and asked the Receptionist to attempt to get someone to call me back for 2 weeks to no avail...only to have the contract cancelled at 7:44pm the night before. House is going on the market this weekend, so it was not great timing. Similar to what others experienced, received a quote when I caught Henry in-person doing a neighbors yard; however, have had a really difficult time getting them to actually follow-up and start the job. Putting a house on the market this week, and had a signed contract with them to start tomorrow, instead they cancel last minute at almost 8pm the night before. I've been waiting on a call-back and have left voicemails and messages with their receptionist, but not having heard from them I called earlier today and of course some things had changed from what was quoted in-person and what they were planning on doing tomorrow. I guess they did me a favor by going ahead and cancelling the appointment altogether instead of having a conversation.
