This company was amazing on their poison Ivy treatment with "Craig " but second year new guy not as good as last year. Had a lot more p- ivy than last year. Last year they killed the mother root and most Ivy died. This year we hired them back for the ivy as well as bed maintainer. But both services were just ok. They came to do my neighbor's lawn and they blocked me in my driveaway! They watched me get in my car and as I am about to back out of my drive way, I see them rolling down the curb and they keep moving down and block me. Then they take out all their equipment and leave the ramp out which still blocks me. I had to go over my lawn to get around it. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE as there was plenty of space in front of my house. There was absolutely no reason to block my driveway. read more

Have been using Emerald for several years. Continue to have weeds. I have called 3 weeks in a row to set up an appointment with manager to walk my property with me so I can show him issues. They continue to take the messages but he has yet to call back to schedule. This is Very frustrating and not good customer service from manager. read more

We have been using them the past few years or so. Last year did not hinder good results but after speaking with the owner and he even came out to the property I decided to give them another chance for this year. (Jodi in the office is a pleasure to speak with and Craig really seems like a stand up guy.) We are doing an early spring "Lawn Rejuvenation" (over 400$ for my property) and regular scheduled fertilizer and maintenance for this season. I'm hoping that they come through this year with great results and I will update this review with the progress. I notice that this company hasn't been getting good feedback on here of late, hopefully I can help turn that around and assure that they are in fact the real deal! *Update* I'm glad I gave this company a second chance. Craig and his team got my lawn rejuvenated and it's already looking about 85% better! I will post some pictures next week of the before and after. So far so good! I am fairly new to Emerald Magic but the few treatments I've had so far seem to be working great. My yard has been overtaken by crab grass and bare spots even though my weekly landscaper has been "taking care of it." The staff I've talked with in the office were informative. I will have to keep an eye out over the next season but by the looks of it so far, it doesn't seem like I am going to have an issue. Well, ok Craig (of Emerald Magic), here is the Yelp review that you requested via your own company's email. I already submitted an Emerald Magic in-house review but apparently that was not enough to get my dissatisfaction across. So here goes: To date the results of my poison ivy abatement, as done by Craig, have earned 5 stars. However, customer service, also done by Craig, dragged Emerald Magic down to a 1 star review. Typically the axiom of "a customer is always right, even when they're wrong" is a good business practice. However, in my case I'm pretty confident I'm right, but even if I wasn't had your response been better you'd be looking at a 5 star review. Both Craig (of Emerald Magic) and myself know I had a complaint about a particular invoiced and billed for visit. Thomas (of Emerald Magic) merely left an invoice/bill in my mailbox, indicating services that were performed on the day in question. This happened without actually executing those same services, which in my mind doesn't constitute a visit! Initially, Craig insisted Thomas was just there to drop off the bill (mail would have been much cheaper), which is ok but then why did the invoice show otherwise. At least had you followed the above "customer" axiom you'd have a happy customer right here. Eventually you appeared to capitulate and had Thomas (of Emerald Magic) perform a 'service visit' that your own paper trail showed I was still owed. Let me repeat, had this matter been addressed in a more businesslike fashion from the beginning, then Emerald Magic would be getting a 5 star review. Possibly Thomas (of Emerald Magic) didn't do his job on his first visit (Craig had professionally performed the earlier ones) or maybe Thomas was instructed by others not to do that which he had invoiced and billed for. I will never know the answer to my complaint. I'm pretty confident when I say to keep a sharp eye on Emerald Magic, as well as any other companies that show up unannounced as Emerald Magic has a tendency to do. Caveat emptor! read more

I was not happy with the service. I used them for 2 seasons. Last year the lawn was brown most of the summer. They told me it was because it was very hot. The bill still came every month though. I also was not happy with the weeds and was told by the worker that I have to request specific weed killer because they do not like to use it because it is expensive. They give a generic mixture to every lawn. Nothing specific for each lawn. I had them do a complete lawn restoration, and it is very patchy and thin. We were disappointed. My husband and I used Emerald Magic to do a complete Lawn renovation and to provide maintenance services throughout the year. We used them for a few seasons until when we noticed, the new lawn still had the exact issues (if not worse) as the original lawn. This year we decided to cancel our services. I've had these guys doing fertilizer and weed control for 4 years now. They do a great job and lawn looks great.

Everything was fine at the beginning of the season.My lawn was looking great. Then weed killer was put down in the heat of the summer. I had spots of dead grass all over. It took a few phone calls to get someone to try to get someone to correct this. When someone came, they raked up the dead grass and put some seed down without covering the seed, which became bird food. This was my first time I used Emerald, needless to say my last. read more

This is my second year using the Emerald Magic lawn care team and I have to say, I'm very impressed. I purchased my home in a fairly wooded area of the north shore where the soil is acidic, and the property prior to me owning it was poorly maintained. With the help of Craig and his team, they brought this lawn back to life. The large bare spot where a boat had been parked for years is now gone, and the front yard looks fantastic! The men and women there at Emerald Magic have been a delight to work with to get this lawn back to green and healthy. They're always polite when they show up and they make sure you're comfortable with the job before they leave. I wish I had before and after pictures to post because the transformation was that drastic.. after aeration and seeding lawn turned brown. called and they said they'd come out to inspect. They never came nor called. Three weeks later they showed up and did fertilizing literally 5 minutes. I watched them, they didn't cover the lawn. Called and complained they said the owner would call. Never bothered but they did bother to leave a bill. The worst service ever!! I had to look at a burnt lawn the whole summer due to grass wont grow when that hot out & crabgrass preventer down. Also, my lawn was mostly crabgrass after i hired them to prevent it. They consistently miss areas on my lawn to be fertilized! They dont return phone calls even when i leave messages for the owner Craig!! My lawn before & after reno is covered in weeds! I called Emerald for a quote. They returned my called and said they would call to set up a time to come. Perfect. Well all of a sudden I have a man in my backyard. I ask who he is and he says he works for Emerald and is doing the Quote. I tell him why would you just come in my yard without permission. He said i rang the doorbell that's their courtesy before coming into my yard. Even though he did not ask nor did anyone get to the door in time before he had entered the yard. He said that is how they do it. Then proceeds to say because one area is shaded that i cannot grow grass there and walks away. I said i was not using them after that. If i had my pittbulls' and he was attacked for entering the yard with no permission then what? Or if my kids were out there and now a stranger is in the yard with them scaring them then what? Asking for quote doe not mean you welcome yourself in someones yard without their permission and make them uncomfortable. Show's no professionalism or respect for someones safety nor property. Very sad way to treat people. Horrible experience. I expected more or at least the basic respect. read more

Well, I'm hoping for something better than what I received from Tru green. They were horrible. Their crab grass treatment was lousy and that is what ended up taking over my lawn. They actually ruined my lawn. Yea they came back and seeded and aerated, but they didn't even do that right. I'm paying a bit more now with Emerald so I'm expecting good things. read more

When I called about a lawn problem you sent someone out to fix it. It looks like the problem grass is gone but we'll see what happens come spring. Very reputable company that tries to help with lawn problems, as well as shrubs and whatever you have growing. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Emerald Magic has greatly improved the health and look of my lawn. My father used to use this company when I was a kid which is why I gave them a shot last year. Craig the owner usually seems like he really tries to have any issues I have addressed quickly, although I've had one issue I've been waiting to see addressed since last summer, so I'm just not sure where the disconnect is between him and the office or field workers. When they came to seed last year, they got seed in literally all of my flowerbeds, in the mulch where only my plants and flowers should be growing. So now I also have beautiful new grass growing in my flower beds, which is not a place anyone wants grass to be growing. I asked repeatedly for this to be addressed, they came once and killed it, but it also killed my regular lawn around the perimeters of my mulch areas where I obviously do want grass, so when they came to reseed those areas, they again got seed all in my flower beds, so I've been right back to square one with this ever since. They also got seed in all of my bricks/pavers so there's grass growing in all of the cracks of my bricks and pavers. I've been asking for all of this to be addressed again since late last summer and still hasn't been addressed. They keep promising they'll come back to handle this but so far they haven't. Other than this, I have to say my lawn looks great and I'm very happy with the look of my lawn. If they would just use a little more care when seeding around flowerbeds, and if they'd just come back to handle this one issue, I'd be 100% happy and most likely a lifelong customer. Using a spreader machine or throwing seeds haphazardly in the middle of the lawn is fine, but they should be carefully placing seed down near these types of areas I described above by hand, so as not to get this beautiful seed into areas in which it doesn't belong. Once they come back to address this issue I will gladly change my review to 5 stars!! read more
