    MD crab soup

So one cool thing about NE Baltimore is a plethora of old neighborhood taverns and dive bars. This one is in the heart of Parkville. I've driveen by hundreds of times and only finally went in. I love the place. The owner (Dan) and bartender (Brooks) introduced themselves and really care about their customers. The atmosphere is clean and divey in a cool way. Family atmosphere by day and great food!! I had a terrific MD crab soup and crab cake sandwich. The latter was impressive! A real MD cake...and substantial. Great sports bar with several TVs and an owner that loves premier league. A Chelsea fan though. Ha. Also, the carry a tap of Key brewing from nearby Dundalk. Terrific stuff. Rest of the beers are corporate but eh that's fine.

Came for trivia on a Thursday evening with some locals and the prices, host, and food was really impressive. Charm City hosts a great trivia game which complements the cheap basket of wings, fries, and soup of the day. Even with a full bar, we got our pitchers refilled quickly and food came out quickly, the only problem being that the owner or manager took 30 minutes after the game to sign the gift cards in order to give to the to the winners. There is a patio area, street parking and a parking lot, and there are several TVs inside and one outside in order to watch any games that might be on that night. Good music choices, good company, and really tasty wings!

Great neighborhood pub where you'll likely run into someone you know! Priced right and decent food. The bands are awesome too!

Cozy neighborhood dive bar…read more My brother frequents Brannan so we went to check it out while I was visiting the area recently. My brother said he likes it because it's unpretentious and the regulars who frequent the bar are usually locals. He said it's always a good time as the people are cool and the drinks are fantastic. We actually stopped in for a midday cocktail on a Sunday afternoon. There were a few people there but not too many due to the time of day. We sat at the bar and an older gentleman took our order. My brother knew him so they chit chatted for awhile about the comings and goings of other locals. The bar is no frills for sure but I still found it warm and inviting. It had a certain charm to it that I can't really put my finger on. There are pool tables in the rear the bar and an electronic juke box. We played a couple rounds of pool while jamming to some tunes which was a lot of fun. I can't recall the name of the drinks I ordered but they were really good. They were fruity cocktails that the older gentleman mixed. He didn't skip on the alcohol either. We ordered 5 drinks total and the bill was just under $30. My brother told me that some people in the neighborhood look down on Brannan's because it's a dive bar but I had a great time. I didn't find anything wrong with it whatsoever. All the other patrons were really nice as was the bartender. The atmosphere was cozy and chill. I'd definitely visit again during a future trip.

I had a quick welcome from several people and could have stayed all night talking. Has pool tables, juke box, and regular American drafts. Unfortunately the disrespectful…read moreweather didn't allow for the grill to be open for burgers and salmon, but my friend was still able to get a beyond burger. The place was ready for us, when we said we would be there a little early. And our waiter, Manny (I think he's the only waiter), did his thing again. He brought out a really good mixed drink for my friend, which she really enjoyed. And he bougied up some sprites for my other two friends, which made them feel nice and fancy. I enjoyed my appetizer sampler. I'm not crazy about Pretzles - but this pretzel was fresh and sooooo delicious! Like a soft cloud, I just had to share. The shrimp tempura was also very good. It was a good choice for me. I was pretty comfortable after that, so I got some chicken wings for my main course, with more Thai chili sauce. The wings were really really good, though I'm not a drum stick fan. If I could go back and just have flats I would. But they were finger-licking good. The music from the bar next door wasn't too loud, as I remember last time. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers (got another believer in the Brussels sprouts, the soup was still faithful, and the tater tots made you wanna slap somebody's mama). I appreciate that everything always comes out hot at Reds. No one is getting anything cold unless that's how it's served! Really pretty and chill vibe to the place too. You can dress formal, or be dressy casual, or just plain. You'll never feel like you don't belong there. Just a good place to be. Always enjoy it there.

The place looks like it changed its model from restaurant to bar food & pizzeria menu. The old place had a chef picking items from the garden and changed its menus daily. I am sad about that. One look at the front page of their menu tells me we are eating from the delivery truck with dressed plates. But keep in mind they are using a different work model which may work better on my wallet. Other points; I also noticed their liquor store is expanding so this may be a welcomed addition/place for them to make their money. They are open on Sunday for takeaways. Finally, nothing has changed as yet about their beers on tap. They offer a good variety of beers, from tap to bottle or can. I am interested to see if the clientele change for the better.?.

I only took one star away because it was not made for those bigger sized folks like myself. They had horderves egg rolls, chicken and shrimp which were pretty good. They also had a friendly young lady working upstairs to take your drink or food order and she would bring them back. The music upstairs was being played by a person attending the party. That was a nice vibe because everyone got to request songs so all kinds of music was played. If you're a smoker there was a nice outdoor area where you could smoke. As I was leaving I noticed that they had a DJ on the first floor who was also rocking the music. Shout out to the DJ who was also rocking. Didn't even realize that I knew the DJ until he spoke as I was leaving. Not sure of his DJ name but, I know him as Mr. Gaines. If you get a chance check this spot out. It was a nice mature crowd.

The food was not good. The burger buns were dry and cheap, and the patty was extremely bland. It probably was the worst burger I have ever had. The kitchen forgot to send my burger out with the onion ring that comes on it, so I had to wait to assemble it. There was barely any bacon on it. Fries were bland. The only redeemable thing was the cajun shrimp appetizer, which was actually quite delicious.

He suggested that we get the crabcake rather than the other choices we were thinking about. We were not disappointed. The single crabcake was FULL of jumbo lump crab meat is served with hand-cut boardwalk fries and side of cole slaw. It was delicious! The restaurant has a bar area with high tops as well as booth seating. There's also an outdoor area that you can dine in during the warm weather. It's a comfortable cozy kind of place.
