Super cool, unpretentious addition to Hamilton/Lauraville. Micky's is a small but funky pib with a full bar, nice beer selection, and solid menu. They have 4-5 local craft beers on tap with a nice selection of others in cans/bottles. The bar itself is small--8 seats or so--but cozy. I enjoyed the "Buzz Off" pizaa--basically extra pepperoni. The wood fired crust was exactly to my liking...crisp with a little bit of char. Yum! Lots of great touches here, from the eclectic decor to the menu covers made from recycled LP covers. Did I mention eclectic? The three menu covers on the bar were albums from Connie Francis, Ronnie Dove, and Iron Butterfly. Prices are definitely reasonable and the atmosphere is great. Micky's Joint is the best thing to happen to Hamilton in a long time.

Fried pickles, roasted carrot with lemon whipped ricotta, pistachios and honey.

We had 3 cocktails which were all good. The April special app was the roasted carrots over lemon whipped ricotta....they could sell that ricotta for dessert! Yum! Had the fungi pizza, fresh mushroom, so good. No lies about the fresh cut fries. Homemade ice cream. The cherry chocolate chunk, I could eat a gallon. Vibe was chill, people were super friendly.

Awesome pub. We dined downstairs for happy hour. Fish and chips on happy hour is just 1 small piece…read moreof fish so keep that in mind but it was crispy, flakey and delicious! I also got a mushroom lasagna and it didn't feel hot enough/ didn't taste amazing after the first few bites. But hoping it's a one off and would like to try some other things. We weren't the biggest fan of the chicken sandwich (I think it was called the chicken royale?) we got either- it just didn't work with the combination inside the sandwich. Seemed like there was only 1 person running the whole downstairs (and maybe training someone else) but he was a burst of sunshine keeping it together. Because of the 2 dishes not really hitting the mark but fish and chips are great id give it between 3 & 4 stars! Will come back for the fish & chips and try something else as the atmosphere was lovely and service was nice. Also looks like they have nice deals for every day of the week at the upstairs portion.

The only odd thing was that our server seemed to change halfway through our meal without anyone mentioning it. The fried green tomatoes (not pictured) were excellent and definitely worth ordering if they're on the menu. I had the shepherd's pie--it had great flavor but was unfortunately very salty, making it hard to finish. Overall, good food, great atmosphere, and a spot I'd recommend if you're in the area before a show.

There's no flash. There are no gimmicks. It's a local bar to go grab a drink and you're not in the mood for the trendy packed spots. It's very unassuming and great neutral space. Anyone can show up, any time. Everyone's welcomed. You can have a good convo w/o having to scream thru it. MASSIVE PLUS *smile*!!! From a musical perspective, all sorts of genres pump thru the system and the ability to make selections is much better than other bars, which is great. It's even better when your selections are getting other people to enjoy the music and their time there, as well. Always a crowd pleaser. Aside from a fully stocked bar, there's a great beer selection. I happen to LOVE ciders and there's always an excellent choice available. The bartenders are always welcoming and accommodating. People come to unwind and have a good time w/o any pretense. I really enjoy the Tavern for that reason.

Shrimp Po'boy with tavern tots and remoulade sauce, the delicious bun, spicy pickles and fresh tomato really tie this into a cohesive bite.
