We came here on our date night of family vacation. My husband is a chef back home and we both loved the food and had no notes. We had the boom-boom shrimp, Parmesan oysters, and crab cake appetizers; the stuffed grouper and lobster were our entrees. The best food in Navarre, hands down! Even though they didn't have the calamari out as quickly as they would have liked-they still offered to plate it later and gave us an appetizer on the house which was brought out by the cook. So I'll start off with the positive! Service was good. Our entree's were good. I ordered the stuffed grouper which was tasty. My hubby ordered the grilled grouper...he also said it was good. Salads were great...Rolls were warm and fresh (strawberry butter was different...my 8 year old loved it though!) The view from the outdoor seating area is beautiful! Really my only complaint and to me why I only rated it 3 stars, was because our sides (creamy cheesy grits) were disgusting and cold. They were anything but creamy...They were very dry. Whoever is cooking those grits in the back...you need to use more whole milk to make them creamy and if they were hot, they would have melted the cheese which would have made them much better (better yet, when the grits have finished cooking, and still hot in the pan...throw your cheese in at that time and mix it in so it melts. The other person in our party said their side was cold as well (mashed potatoes). I'm sorry, but when you pay $40+ for an entree....your food better be warm. My other complaint was after the waitress asked me how our meal was and I told her about the cold gross grits, she offered to bring me something different...but I know better and declined. I ordered a signature cocktail cucumber basil smash..... it was suppose to have basil and watermelon I was served club soda and tequila w way too much sour mix. Traveling from New Orleans for a holiday weekend getaway, I booked a reservation for two for my husband and I. I checked the other reviews here which greatly helped to manage my expectations. This venue has two segments: a casual porch-style patio and a more "upscale" (for the Florida coast) restaurant, which is further divided into inside and outside patio seating. We were first seated pretty close to a strong fan and when I asked to be reseated, the hostess was happy to accommodate -- as soon as she cleared the nearest two-top. Our server, Stacy, was on point throughout our service. Drinks: I had the Cool as a Cucumber cocktail and it was delicious. The proportions were just right, but it warmed quickly on the patio. Starters/Salad: We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. It came with house tortilla chips, and we hunted a little for the lump crab. Bread service included yeast rolls with house made honey butter and strawberry butter. Our Caesar salads were Caesar sad. Wilted romaine and the dusting of dressing lacked flavor. I'd skip all of these in the future. Entrees: Husbae ordered blackened gulf shrimp with mashed potatoes. I went with grilled scallops and the Parmesan risotto cake. While our proteins were well-cooked and seasoned, both of us found the sides lackluster. The Parmesan risotto cakes were battered and fried, and primarily the flavor was herbaceous. It seemed like the risotto wasn't salted, and the Parmesan was strangely stringy, like a mozzarella. Notable: we waited a *long* time after the first three courses came out in pretty rapid succession. Our reservation was for 7:30 and by 8 we'd been served both the spinach dip and the bread. A little later the lackluster salads came. Entrees hit the table at 5 til 9. However, because our waitress kept us apprised of the status of our order, and since I'd read other reviews, we weren't too inconvenienced by this. read more

We had a large crowd post memorial service for lunch and everyone loved delicious food. I had the shrimp poboy with fries, husband had the Mahi sandwich, friends had the Mahi BLT as well as the Rib Cheesesteak. We started with spinach dip, calamari, fried mushrooms and fried mozzarella. Went here with the family. Upcoming entering and leaving the hostess said hello and goodbye, she was very friendly. The server was Johnny on the spot with refills for the kids. The food was good but not great for the prices that are on the menu. The one thing I did not like was the tip being auto added to the bill. We are a family of 7 and on the bill was considered a "large" party. I think that's messed up to do and the server was just wanting to make sure he got tipped. When we travel we like to find a nice place to have dinner. This looked to fit the bill for us, so we made reservations and dressed up a bit. I'm glad we made reservations, as they were quite busy. We enjoyed the meal, sharing Oysters Rockefeller and splitting a steak. They oysters were large and had great flavor and the steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. A generous Caesar salad with warm bread accompanied with honey and strawberry butter. The part of our evening that kept this from a 5 star review was we were seated at a table close to the front door that looked like was added as an afterthought. It was kind of in the way for the natural flow of things. Two of the chairs were next to aisles too close to other patrons/ and servers getting by. We were offered a table on the covered heated patio, but the live music was so loud we could not enjoy quiet conversation. We were informed the other tables were reserved and unavailable. ( we had reservations as well). We enjoyed the food, service was ok, but the seating arrangement left us disappointed. We feel when we are willing to spend over $100 for 2 drinks and a shared meal, we expect a comfortable relaxing meal. We were in town with friends and they took us to this place and boy it didn't disappoint! It is a very nice restaurant with some unique decor and they have indoor and outside seating for your pleasure. Our series's very friendly and shared with us the house specials as well as the popular dishes. We started off with the smoked bacon the bacon wrapped shrimp as appetizers. They were both delicious. The shrimp were grilled to perfection and they bacon had a sweet and smoky taste and the crumbled feta cheese took it over the top. We had THE LOBSTER and the jalapeño crusted grouper as our entrees. THT LOBSTER was deep fried and then fill with asparagus, lobster and shrimp and the tossed in a delicious sauce and then put back inside the lobster shell. The grouper was amazing! The jalapeño crust along with that sauce was definitely a taste that I've never had. The fish was so flaky and paired with delicious brussel sprouts and some amazing fried rice. Last but not least, the rolls are the best I've ever had anywhere! They also come with homemade honey butter and strawberry butter. Don't fill up on the rolls because it's easy to do. Yelp's rating for 2 stars is "it could have been better" so I guess I would give it 2.5 stars as the 3 rating is for "ok". It's been so hit and miss on this place. Really like the location and the fact that it's a locally owned place but I've been disappointed more often than wowed. This is from multiple visits so I'll list some of my experiences... Bay side deck: if there is music going on and a busy night, service is some of the worse you can experience. Servers are polite and very nice but I've waited a long time for simple things like a bucket of beer and even longer for food. My advice is to go to the bar and serve yourself. Dining room: Service is better but slow at times. I've had good meals but also bad meals. Fish and Grits served in a gravy of unfinished grits, salads that have soggy croutons (which I assume is because they were made in advance and thrown in the fridge. A simple thing to do is not put croutons on your ceasar until it's being served.) Steak that is not cooked correctly (rare instead of med/rare) which for a place that has 5 or 6 steaks on the menu you would think they would have that down. At times I have brought these to the attention of management and they will correct issues but I would rather not have any issues to bring up in my dining experience. It's dressed up to be a higher scale restaurant but ultimately it just doesn't rise up to that level. It's the details that make a good restaurant great. Stuffed grouper, scampi, mussels and oysters were all good experiences for me. Just wish it was more consistent. read more

We had an extremely bad experience at this restaurant and will never return. Our party of 10 was offered a 7:45 reservation on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. We arrived on time and we were seated around 8:10 - no biggie. However, several things went poorly and we did not even receive our food until nearly 10 o'clock. Our waters were not refilled until after asking & after our meal and as there. After ordered were placed, our server came back to tell us that half the sides we ordered weren't available. Once our food comes out, my husband had ordered the seafood Mac and I as told "we don't have the noodle for that, so how does shrimp scampi sound?" Not offered a menu to pick something else, basically just got told what they were gonna be serving him. When we see our food we are told that anyone who ordered Mac & cheese as a side we're given French fries instead. Again, no choice, just given fries. We ask for a menu to pick the sides we prefer and we are given one, then after several more minutes we are told the only sides available are French fries and Brussel sprouts. A ribeye ordered medium rare was fully well done, as was a filet ordered medium. They were thin and flavorless. A grouper ordered was overcooked and completely cold. Once our checks come, aside from being all mixed up and wrong, we were charged for the Mac & cheese when we didn't get it. Our friends who replaced a side salad with a side were charged $6 when they didn't get the side they ordered and got cold fries instead. We did not complain a single time or ask for anything for the trouble. The only thing our server Jessica offered was a single slice of frozen cheesecake and a single piece of lava cake for all 10 of us to pass around and share. She also said she had to "run" from her manager with it. The same manager who we never saw or heard an apology from. The only thing I asked her was for her to look over incorrect checks and she immediately said "I've been here 13 hours and I'm a single mom of 2." I get it. But we all work stressful jobs and it's our last night of vacation, AND we are all already being charged a 20% large party gratuity. Which when one ticket was $350; and there's 10 of us, that adds up. We did not leave the restaurant until nearly 10:30 to no fault of our own. My kids had been here last year and were excited to go back. My wife and I went with them this year. Ordered grouper and coconut shrimp. The shrimp was very good. The group was a little tough, but the worst part was the portion size. 3 small pieces that amounted to about 5 bites. Also ordered Brussels sprouts which was supposedly one of their best items. It wasn't. Very luck warm and essentially burned taste. I've had really good Brussels but these were disappointing. My biggest complaint was the 20% "tip" added because we had 7 in our party. The problem was, two in the party were our 3 and 4 year old granddaughters were counted as part of the group when I fact the server did NOTHING for them. One person brought us water and that was all the kids drank. Their kids menu food was brought out at same time as ours. Nothing from the waiter himself who was very nice at least. But didn't not offer more water for me (which I was out of) or any more for the others in our group. So basically, took our order, brought out bread, checked on us one time, and brought the checks. We ate about 8:00pm and the place was not crowded at all, so the waiter being "busy" was not an issue. Automatic 20% tip for the lack of attentiveness is excessive and what drives me away from going there again. I'm generally a very good tipper but I do it based on the service from the wait staff. Between the 7 dinners we paid $54 in tips alone! I'd be fine with an automatic tip if the service was better and it was 7 individual adults ordering drinks and food. But to tack it on for a dad and two very small children was over the top. Personally for me, I probably won't be back based on that issue alone and for the money, I can get seafood just as good elsewhere. read more

We visited on Thursday night and our group of 6 was seated immediately. Our service was friendly and prompt to start. The friendliness continued, but as the restaurant began to fill, the ticket times became very long and we wished we had just ordered entrees instead of stalling things with appetizers. The time between appetizers and main courses was extremely long. The tuna and oysters were good, nothing over the top fantastic. Other meals included coconut shrimp, scallops, and seafood chowder. One of our kids ordered Parmesan fries, which were on the kids and regular menu, and we were then told they were no longer serving Parmesan fries. Our host was kind and a sweet young woman, but I wonder if they were short staffed or if something happened at the bar. Cocktails took over 30 mins to come out. We were prepared to order two each to celebrate but the wait made us think twice. The food was good, as expected. However for an automatic tip on a party of 5 and a bill of $500, I'd prefer less alive and dead flies around the table. Absolutely DELICIOUS! Our favorite was the Mussels Diablo and the Oven Roasted Oysters. We came in for a few appetizers and a drink and we left so full and happy. When we come back to Navarre we will definitely visit again. The boom boom shrimp was good but not over the top my favorite. And the regular oysters only came with 5 instead of 6...but they were HUGE, so it was still good! Service was great. Our bartender was kind. The server on the patio didn't initially have any tables and she was talking about that a lot...she was talking to regulars, so they weren't bothered...to someone who was visiting it was a little off putting, but we still had a great time. We could tell they recently had some outside damage but the bartender shared what happened and we thought the repairs looked amazing! We had such a wonderful time at Emerald Waterfront, and a huge part of that was thanks to our waitress, Sophia. From the moment we sat down on the outdoor patio, she made sure we were taken care of. She was attentive without hovering, somehow always right there when we needed something--though truthfully, we never even had to ask. Drinks stayed full, food came out perfectly, and she checked in just enough to make us feel looked after without interrupting our conversation. It's rare these days to have service where you can tell someone genuinely takes pride in their work, but Sophia absolutely does. She went above and beyond to make the evening smooth and enjoyable, and it really elevated the whole dining experience. If you're heading to Emerald Waterfront, I can't recommend Sophia enough. Seating inside, outside covered, and outside against the railing. So comfortable!! There was live music on the deck. Just the right volume, as we were able to chat. Our waitress greeted us right away, and grabbed us drinks. The menu is large and covers everything you might desire! My husband and I are locals and decided to try Emerald for a date night with the new owner. We were pleasantly surprised with the changes. We made an online reservation for 645 for outdoor seating. Clean and pretty when walking in. We were greeted right away and taken to our table. Great views and covered area. Our waitress I believe her name was Billy Jean was amazing. So kind and knowledgeable! We started with cocktails and they were great- a bit small for $11. We also had the bacon appetizer which was absolutely delicious! We both ordered a ribeye. I had the Brussels and risotto cakes. My husband had a Cesar salad and the cakes. Our entrees took about an hr and 20 mins to come out- and that the only reason I gave them 4 stars. Our steak were done perfectly and had great flavor. I loved the Brussel sprouts! The salad was on the small side but good!
