I've loved all of the classes that I have taken and the instructors are some of the best I've ever had in the industry. What I really like about this studio is their focus on the whole mind and body. What I really, really love about this place is the sense of community that has been created by the owner, instructors, and the staff. I always look forward to my workout and of course, I always feel phenomenal after my workout.

I can't speak highly enough about the culture and environment that Coaches Jeff and Leah have created! Their workouts are fun and uplifting, their advice is technically sound, and the atmosphere they cultivate is motivating and breeds health and wellness. As a healthcare provider, I will continue to send my patients to North Corner Studios because they will achieve their goals in a healthy way, have less chance for injuries with the form and cues that Jeff and Leah will teach them and they will definitely have fun along the way! If you are looking for a gym in the Everett area, look no further than NCS. This will soon be THE place to be for anyone and everyone looking to improve or maintain their health!

BIG KUDOS! I would like to send a big shout-out to the staff at Emerald City…read moreAthletic Club to go beyond to help a fellow member. I have been going to this establishment for 16 years and I could not be happier. The club put a lot of money into recent renovations and upgrades. It is up to standards with state-of-the-art equipment. Whether a person chooses to use the machinery for cardiovascular purposes, muscle strength, or weight loss, this is the ideal place to achieve your fitness goals! It simply is not possible to walk out the door without feeling a profound sense of accomplishment and better overall health. The best part of all is the staff. I have had Cerebral Palsy all my life. I have had to make do with one wheelchair to use both inside my home and in my car. It was in bad shape. There is a wonderful maintenance lady by the name of Jen H. surprised me and gave me a cool wheelchair that she had at home. This chair was brand new and is a great chair for me to utilize at home. But the kindness and compassion did not stop there. My old wheelchair was in desperate need of an overhaul. She went ahead and ordered me a new seat for the chair and new armrests. Now, I can feel more at ease knowing I have extra reinforcements with new and sturdy material. Now I have both a wheelchair for my house and one for my car that I can use at the gym. That made my life so much easier. Jenn and a courteous staff member by the name of John Y. volunteered their time and installed both items for me right there at the club. The staff is so caring and friendly, and they do put the customer first as you can see. There is also a friendly lady who works at the front desk named Jenny V. who helps me put my wheelchair in my car when I am ready to leave at the end of the day. The staff at this club makes me feel like I matter. They are like family to me. I am committed to being a lifelong member of this gym. I give my highest regards and recommendations to this staff and cannot speak highly enough about them. If you are looking for a new gym, please go to the Emerald City Athletic Club. You will not be disappointed.

The draw for ECA over big places like LA/24 hour was the smaller business vibe & I wanted to "shop local". I also liked the childcare options. 1. when we signed up at the Ballinger Village location with Brody, he made a big show of telling us (my husband and I) how they're a small business and they're not out to get money, he said most of them are just personal trainers or nutritionists, NOT BUSINESSMEN (i remember this line because he repeated it several times). So he encouraged me to sign up for the champions class. I asked specifically if I could cancel if it didn't fit my needs/baby schedule. He said "of course. But I'd recommend you try it for at least 60 days so you can really see if it works for you. And if you still need to cancel, just reach out. We're really chill here." This was near verbatim. 2. After more than a couple months, I found the champions class great for others but not for me/my toddler's schedule so I emailed to cancel which was the ONLY option I was given. And the email response was short, rude, and included a "$299 + tax downgrade fee" for the cancellation. Mind you, I wasn't trying to cancel our membership. Just MY champions access. I told them what Brody had told us just months prior and they absolutely didn't budge. That's fine. It's policy - I get it. But this is totally the kind of stuff big businesses pull and they should be up front. 3. We ended up completely cancelling our memberships (both of us) because we thought this way of business was shady and when you think about the cost and what they offer v. what big gyms offer (LA/24) then you'll realize it's absolutely not worth it. all that talk in the beginning is EXACTLY what it sounds like. a sales pitch. don't be sucked in. oh also. i left a review for ballinger which i think is their newest but i usually go to everett (my husband goes to ballinger and I've been a couple times) - uniquely to the everett location, everything is disgusting. I would NOT shower there if I were you. At least one different machine is broken every week, the bathroom is perpetually wet probably because they have no paper towels. Honestly we go to 24 hour now and it's a breath of fresh air. literally **I will say the teachers at the childcare are above and beyond. I have told everyone I know about our ECA experience and hopefully saved people quite a bit of $$$ but I have nothing negative to say about the teachers at childcare. ** in case my review is too long. read this reddit forum. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/oanvzy/emerald_city_athletics_a_toxic_manipulative_and/

I have been going here for awhile now…read more If you want to learn BJJ GI/NOGI/Street, a form of Boxing that emphasizes self preservation first, Yoga, Kettlebells, or just want to gain increased mobility used in other sports you need to give this gym a try. No need to pick and choose, you get it all for one reasonable price, they have morning and evening classes, and they also have kids and young adults programs. The instructors/owners are great people, will work with anyone, regardless of skill or fitness level. A lot of people I recommend this gym to are intimidated, especially about the boxing, but please don't be, they don't break people here, they train them. They start you out slow, and only add pressure as you get better, and you will get better! You only go as hard as you want to, and free form sparring is optional, and only after you get good enough to defend yourself. The BJJ is not oriented towards competition, though they will help you with that if it's your goal. They do GI, No-GI, and Street Jits/CMD/Etc on Saturdays. We have young guys and a lot of older guys as well. FYI The lineage is Machdo -- King -- Kolesar Even if your just into it for fitness you have to give it a try, you have never worked out until you have boxed, done a round of BJJ rolling, or hit the kettle bells. These are phenomenal cardio and muscular endurance work outs. Women and Men are pretty much in every class, it's a tribe and an extended family, everyone watches out for you, no meatheads, no crazies, give it a try. Finally don't wait to get fit, instead get fit while learning some valuable self preservation life skills!

No such thing as too young for boxing. Best thing about the youngest group class is high demand for discipline. Eric(one of the trainers and owner) is great with young ones, but also strict. Besides boxing you have option to do jujitsu, self-defense and kettle bells. All of that included in your monthly membership fee. Technically you can attend every day if one wants to. I will be joining my kids soon. It's a great place for the whole family.

Seems like it doesn't matter about customer satisfaction for them. They will Include any rule to make sure they are getting the money. Again, I like individuals here. But as business they definitely suck. I would not recommend being a member here cause as long as you are remember, you are fine but other than that it's a loss of money for you. Many would argue that I should have read terms and condition (which is in benefits to the club) but circumstances arise where you are an advocate to yourself. It's pretty good value, especially for families or if you want certain facilities, like the swimming pool. The staff are kind, it's a good mix of ages, shapes, colors and backgrounds of the other members which is cool because our family is mixed race. However, I sorely wish the staff would monitor members cleaning up after themselves more thoroughly. I maybe see one person a week wipe down their equipment after use which I find disrespectful. I hate complaining and have learned just to pre-clean and post clean everything I use but I feel like a better job could be done managing this issue if it were something staff cared about. Perhaps it's just me... The price for myself and my husband is $116 per month and while I know there are scholarships for folks per income needs- I would love to see children under certain ages be able to be added for free- it would be so nice to have access to childcare without having to add our daughter for a full price. My husband also just uses the pool and I would love to see pricing reflect this, for example, could folks just sign up for a pool pass? It's likely we just need to find somewhere else for him to swim so I can quit complaining.

I was on the hunt for a gym, a legit gym that had *weights* that weren't plastic and followed Covid guidelines. I found this understated gem after searching for some time. I have been through enough gyms. Golds was great until it went to 425 Fitness. La Fitness was okay-ish until Covid happened. Lifetime is super bougie and nice but could use a bigger weight area. If you're looking to take gym insta-pics for "fitspo" or bro and brood out, this isn't the place This gym is old-school perfection. It has weights. Like real iron weights. It makes you take responsibility for cleaning up after yourself and not drop weights like an idiot. The gym has all the essentials you need to do what you need for weight training, weight loss, etc. No frills, no bs. Gloria has been impeccable. I believe she is the owner (?) but don't quote me on this. It's a big gym with a small feel. No big corporate nonsense, no pressure. If you've ever been to a gold's gym and went there to do work, you'll appreciate it here. I love having real weights. I love seeing the machines that help you achieve what you seek. No fancy: here today, gone tomorrow machines, gadgets or hype. You get out what you put into yourself. I can't say enough good about this place. I almost don't want to post this cause maybe I don't want you to come ‍ but alas it's not about me and I want this place to get the recognition it deserves. Literally in love with this place and Gloria is super kind. 10/10

Pros: -Never crowded. Never wait for a machine. -Open 24 hours. -Significantly cheaper than other 24hr gyms. -Extremely well equipped with weights / equipment. -Gloria (the owner) clearly turned her passion into a business and you feel like you're buying a membership from a person who cares and not a corporation who only thinks about nickeling and dime-ing you as a revenue machine. -Excellent parking situation. -All weights are re-racked and easy to find (looking at you, golds gym with your 5lb weights). -EXTREMELY clean. Equipment, floor, bathrooms, everything. -No required long-term commitment. Cons: -No WiFi for video streaming (although I could be wrong on this, I haven't clarified with the owner). -No towel service. -No showers (working out before work means going somewhere else to shower or change). -Sets the standard for other gyms to match a little high. Going to be disappointed when I leave this area. The long: I can't really speak enough about this gym. It's great, and for the premium membership at $40/month, I can't ask for more. Gloria provides a more warm and personal experience that all corporate gyms seem to lack with a bored 18 year old behind the desk scrolling instagram and nodding their head at you when you walk in, or having to get someone else if you ask them a question. Gym is stupid clean. Like, I actually felt like I needed to pack a second pair of shoes to wear when I actually get to the gym in order to keep it that clean. Weights are all racked properly and numerous. Cardio machines plentiful. What could be improved? Dunno, to be honest. Maybe a phone charging station at the front behind the desk? Provided towel service? Showers? My gripes are tiny compared to the pluses. This place rocks.
