I should have read all reviews before I made an appointment with them, but I didn't because of the emergency situation. Like other reviews mentioned, I was there for at least 3 hours because they have only one doctor that takes care of everyone. The prices are almost double the regular dentist prices. The only reason I give 3 stars was that the doctor and the assistant were both nice and they took care of my problem outside of the regular hours. They are open 7 days a week for 12 hours. I have an emergency with an abscessed molar on a Sunday, so couldn't get in to see my regular oral surgeon. I called them and had a 4 pm appointment. I got over there at 3:50 pm (a 30 minute drive from my home). The receptionist tells me that it will be a 2-3 hour wait. I said, but I called this morning and have a 4 pm appointment. Didn't matter. Not only that, but they don't take Blue Cross dental insurance. The waiting room was full with someone sitting there with a dog on their lap. Very shabby place - I had really bad vibes walking in there to begin with. I will just have to tough it out until tomorrow and hope my regular guy can get me in. To begin with, you have to remember this is an emergency dental clinic! Even if you have an appointment and other folks come in with more serious conditions, you need to be prepared to wait. The receptionist was exceptionally pleasant and thoroughly explained everything regarding pricing. Note, again, this is an emergency dental clinic, so be prepared to pay higher than normal rates for off hours emergency support. I had an emergency dental situation come up over the weekend, and unfortunately my normal dentist was out of town for a number of days. Otherwise he would've gladly come in to help me. He actually called me from out of town and forwarded me to this location for assistance. I showed up first thing on Sunday morning when they opened and there was already a number of folks waiting. Upon arrival if you don't already have an account you will need to spend at least 20+ minutes filling out digital forms. If you don't have insurance bring a credit card! Basic services start at about $185 and go as high as you need for each additional service. I liken this place to a MASH unit. A single on-call dentist is available and works his way through the clientele based on their need similar to what you would find an emergency triage unit. I read reviews for this location and found many of the issues were related to waiting for extended periods of time for service. My suggestion is that you have a normal/routine dental need go to a regular dentist for a firm appointment and lower cost services. While I waited nearly 4+ hours, the wait was made clear, and I was attended to regularly with what I needed to keep me comfortable until the dentist could see me for an extensive dental procedure. This dental experience was far from normal, given that a number of the clientele that came in were an extreme pain and needed immediate attention. The dentist was to the point about options, regarding time and expense, and once I was clear on what I wanted to have done he went right to work. The extraction process was traumatic, difficult and incredibly painful done by a dentist with no bedside manner. I should have listened to my instincts to leave before the extraction but I was in tremendous pain and wanted relief and was assured it would be okay. At my one week follow up appt (which I kept since I had already paid for the service and was afraid of infection) I was told that a hard lump I felt in my gum was a bone spur and it would "work itself out" After a follow up with my dentist today, it is dsefinitely NOT a bone spur and is actually a broken buccal plate which was fractured during the extraction. I now have to see an oral surgeon to fix the fractured buccal plate before the process of an implant which will be another surgery and months of healing. I paid $1,750.00 for the extraction and bone graft - they broke my buccal plate during the extraction and the bone graft will have to be redone as a result of the broken buccal plate. If I could give negative stars for Emergency Dental of Omaha, I would. STAY AWAY. Wait until your normal dentist can see you, if at all possible. I had a filling that chipped on a weekend and told the receptionist what insurance I had. She said they had one provider who accepted my insurance, so I waited until the afternoon for an appointment with them. I paid TWICE on the day of, once for the initial consolation and again for the actual work. I was told insurance reimburses after. After getting my bill, the dentist I saw did NOT accept my insurance. When I called to inquire, the front desk said the OTHER dentist in the office accepted my insurance. I told them that the mistake was theirs to fix and they directed me to billing. Billing said it was the front desk's mistake and directed me back. I had called four times, each time put on hold, and then hung up on. I gave up until the cleaning appt at my regular dentist where he said there was still a gap on the filling that would decay if not corrected. I called back for warranty work and asked if I could be seen by the dentist who accepts my insurance. I was told that it needed to be the original dentist for it to qualify as warranty. I was scheduled for the next morning, except that original dentist was OUT OF OFFICE that entire week. Why schedule me then??? I was convinced to be seen by a THIRD dentist since I was already in the chair and worked on for an additional TWO hours for a small front tooth. I left bloody and sore. I would attach pictures if they wouldn't get flagged. Now I have a bill in my inbox, even after paying TWICE, showing they increased the amounts of the work that was done after the fact. I have a lot to say about this place. My husband needed dental work the day before a holiday weekend. I called every dental around, and this was the only place that could get him in. The appointment was at 5pm. We are an hour an a half away. We get there 4:45 pm. He doesn't get called back until 6:30 pm. They take your money before you do a thing. There must not be HIPPA in the dental field. Because as we sat there waiting you get to hear everyone's billing and dental questions. Once they got my husband back and looked at they had me go pay again, no papers or paperwork. Then they are going to do the dental work. They had to change the treatment plan a 3rd time and had me pay yet again. And still no receipt the response was he would get it when they were done. I did have our 2 kids with us too. So I was more concerned about watching them. Not to mention I just wanted my husband not to be in pain. My husband said he wasn't in pain when they did the procedures because they numbed him so much. Things were so unorganized that he had one tooth pulled and they started a root canal. They couldn't find all the materials to do the rest of it. At this point I had the 2 kids in the car. I saw a guy in scrubs outside get something from a car that pulled up. Pretty sure it was the material for the root canal. He would need to come back for a follow up for the root canal. So recap got there at 4:45 pm. Finally got done at 10:20 pm. He had a prescription that needed filled too. Let's here it for 24 hour pharmacy. So he calls to schedule follow up. He at this point has paid approximately $3,000. We have dental insurance too but not sure that mattered. He asked. So according to my paperwork I paid for this visit correct? I have not checked with my insurance company or bbb but I don't think the remaining root canal should cost this much. We are insured by BCBS Dental BTW, so as a participating provider, they should have filed the claim for payment before collecting any money from him. I came in because of a painful filling i had years previous. It was excruciatingly painful and i was crying from the pain. Sobbing actually. I got there at 10:15...my appointment at 10:30. Actually went back to get an X-ray at 11. Then proceeded to sit there in pain until Maria, the office manager came in and gave me some relief with numbing cream and then sending a dentist in to help. That's about all she did that was helpful. I came in to get ONE tooth either extracted or root canal. I was forced to do a full xray and waited until til around noon, 1 pm for the dentist. He then proceeded to pick at all my teeth and suggested a root canal over taking it out, but explained that's more expensive: but with an extraction he wanted to then do a bone graft for the future if i wanted implants. When i asked the price... the financing lady made me wait yet another 30-45 minutes. Came in with her stupid IPad basically demanding 3500 for 2 teeth removed and a bone graft and had me apply for the financing. Well the financing only approved me for 1300 (thank god) and that's when she told me simply getting one tooth pulled is $542 and i HAD to pay $62 today, $32 for the next 15 months. After paying $90 to be seen (when i have insurance). When i got my tooth pulled i felt so much pressure. It's normal, but i feel like i felt WAY too much. I started sobbing at the pain. As im sitting there, in tears. Maria walks over and basically demands i make a google review for her. I lock my phone and watch her walk over to get her phone and see if i made a google review. Two stars just for being open late. Minus stars, though, for our showing up for our appointment and them telling us they were running two hours behind. They expected us to wait two hours just sitting there in pain? Why didn't they call us to let us know they were so far behind? We live nearby, so we came home and waited until they called and told us it was getting close to them being ready for us. Minus stars, too, for it taking nearly four more hours once we got there. Waiting to get into an exam room. Waiting for a dental assistant to come take x-rays. Waiting for nearly 45 minutes for the dentist to come spend 5 minutes with us so he could tell us we needed a root canal. Waiting 20 minutes again for the office staff to get us a price quote on the difference in cost between a root canal and an extraction (almost $4000 for a root canal vs $455 to just yank it out). Waiting another 30 minutes for someone to come find out what we selected. A quick 5 minutes, of course, to take our money and have us sign our lives away. Waiting again for the dentist to come poke us with novacaine. Waiting for him to come back for 5 more minutes, only to have to shoot us up with more novacaine. Waiting again for the dentist to come. Ten minutes later he was done. The lesson in all this: take damn good care of your teeth so you don't have to use Emergency Dental. On October 16th, I visited this office for a broken tooth with sensitivity to cold. After paying in advance, I was told that the tooth needed to be removed . She also tried to convince me that 2 additional teeth needed removed that were not even causing me any complaints. I refused the $1900 and asked her to please focus on the tooth that was giving me a problem. I was met with attitude and she proceeded. She numbed the area and instructed me to signal if I felt pain. I felt pain on 3 seperate occasions. She then instructed her assistant to get a larger bite block for her. She proceeded to "JAM" this larger bite block into my mouth. So forcefully and far that it ripped the corners of my mouth. She then proceeded to remove the tooth but broke it off completely at the gum line. She got frustrated again, threw the tools onto the table and walked out. She returned, this time with a different tool. She aggressively began to grind into the broken tooth area, ignoring my pain. After 2 hours, she proceeds to stitching up my mouth. Unknowing at the time, she informs me that she had to grind out a section of my jaw bone to get the tooth out. This left a hole that 2 of my fingers could be inserted. She walks out again. Her assistant then comes back with a prescription for " ibuprofen " and states that I should take one if needed later. No guaze was inserted, or given for the bleeding. I was told that the blood should clot up after a bit and I would be fine. I was in that office for 5 miserable hours. I returned home. I attempted to relax but after an additional 3.5 hours of blood pouring from my mouth and the worst pain I've ever experienced, I felt that I needed to call them. I called, explained the concern of pain and the uncontrollable bleeding. I was told to "give it more time " by the receptionist. At this time the anesthesia was wearing off. The pain was so severe that my body was shaking. Blood still gurgling out of my mouth also. I called again, 2 hours after the first time I called. I explained in tears, that the bleeding is not stopping and now my body is convulsing from the pain. " PLEASE HELP ME. XALL ME IN SOMETHING FOR PAIN AND TELL ME WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE BLEEDING, PLEASE!" The receptionist puts me on hold forever, comes back and claims the doctor refuses to give you anything for pain. I at that point decided that it was best I go to the hospital. After walking in into the hospital with blood pouring from my face and crying, the doctor was infuriated. He attempted to contact the Emergency dental office however they were closed. After 2 shots, and oral pain meds, the hospital was able to ease my pain level and control the bleeding. They thought that this report should also be made. As of today, I currently have a portion of my jaw bone sticking through my gum, and still in pain. This office refuses to fix their wrong, and has been rude with every phone call made. This office also has simular complaints on Google as well as an F rating with the BBB. I am now faced with going to a PROFFESSIONAL dental office to have my jaw fixed and teeth fragments removed. Also, I think the health department should look into the cleanliness of this office ! If I could only turn back time, I would have checked reviews and would have NEVER went to this establishment. $659 for ONE filling which is absolutely ludicrous. This office gave me a good faith estimate which I paid in full, only to increase the charges after the visit, and now my account reflects a balance. I was in Omaha from out of state and had one of my fillings fall out so I went to this office on a Friday morning. They initially told me (& charged me) for a $185 comprehensive exam before I even stepped foot back into the exam room so I'm really unsure how they decided on that level of an exam prior to even seeing or talking with me. That should have been my first red flag. Once back in the exam room, they wanted to perform the comprehensive exam with a full set of panoramic xrays. I absolutely declined this as there was no basis or medical necessity for a panoramic xray of my entire mouth. The dental tech stated that this would lower the exam to a 'limited' and cost less but they could not refund any amount in their office and stated I would need to call the billing department for a refund. After the dentist did a quick exam, the front desk receptionist came back in to explain the cost of my treatment plan. She stated it would be $312.50. I mistakenly thought this included the initial $185 already paid but it did not. However, that was my mistake for not asking for clarification. Up to that point, I paid a total of $497.50 for ONE replacement filling since my insurance was out of network & I had to pay for all costs up front. When I returned home, I noticed my dental insurance processed a claim from Emergency Dental of Omaha in the amount of $659. Confused as to why I paid one amount and they charged my insurance a larger amount, I called the billing department. I was told the limited exam was more expensive than the comprehensive exam (please note that this is never the case in any office so I knew I was in trouble!). They changed the exam fee of $185 to $195 and refused to change it back or lesson it even though I had a lessor exam than what I initially paid for. They proceeded to tell me that there was a $161.50 BALANCE on my account as they were billing my insurance and I would owe any additional amount that the insurance does not pay. I told them ABSOLUTELY NOT as I paid IN FULL as explained to me in the office! The billing department did not care that the lessor exam was changed to a higher amount AFTER the good faith estimate was made to me & I paid in full for it. They did not care that I was told since my insurance was out of network, I needed to pay in full and was given a good faith estimate of $312.50 for the filling which, again, I paid in full. In the end, this office is charging a grand total of $659 for ONE filling. They are increasing prices AFTER a lower amount was quoted, agreed to, and paid. They are balance billing AFTER I was told I had to pay in full which meant IN FULL, as in NO REMAINING BALANCE but yet, here I am, fighting an additional $161.50 balance on my account. The last contact I had with the billing department is that I requested ALL electronic documents I signed in office, including the good faith estimate, be emailed to me. While the work itself was great, the billing was a joke. I signed a contract agreeing to the dates the payments would be deducted but I guess they decided to just wing it and take money out whenever they pleased, leaving me without gas to get to or from work TWICE read more

Dental service was good, billing is a nightmare. Do not sign up for automatic withdrawals for procedures as they will keep taking money long after insurance has paid. We need to set up a single payment of 288.00 which they took out even knowing that insurance was covering it and that would be refunded. Refunds are only done once a month so had to wait for the beginning of the month only to find out that the checks are sent in cycles. So wait some more. Finally get refund and the next month they deduct money again, but there is no balance due so at this point it is beyond a simple mistake and outright theft. And since they only refund once a month in supposed to wait almost a month and a half to get back my money that shouldn't have been taken in the first place. Even with the great care of the dentists I can't recommend this place to anyone that can't pay cash for procedures as the cost will end up costing more in the long run. read more
