Great location and the can usually get in for an appt pretty quickly. The staff and providers are great.

Extremely disappointed with the administrative communication at the Apex office. A doctor ordered an MRI for me, but despite multiple phone calls, Emerge never actually submitted the prior authorization to my insurance company. I am living in severe, continuous shoulder pain and cannot get sleep, yet my urgent medical requests are being completely neglected. Patients shouldn't have to chase down an office just to get standard authorization filed. I hope you have a great night sleep tonight, with my shoulder I won't. If you read this you should be ashamed of the level of care or maybe better stated - thanks for the "uncare". read more

I have been coming here for years. Can't believe I have never done a review. I do have an account on their "patient portal". This site does a good job of keeping up with all of the care you have had. I messaged through the portal that I needed to see my Dr and they got me in in 2 days time. It was quick and easy. I them received follow up texts and emails for verification purposes. When I arrived for my appt, check in was quick. They collected my co-pay and I was called back within 15 min. Everyone was friendly and professional. In the past, I have also done PT at this location. No complaints about that either. Just ask questions --- be sure you understand the process. read more

I was told that Sundays were only days they do MRIs at this location They didn't tell me other location options. The machine they put me in was a torture chamber. I screamed bloody murder to let me out the 1st time so they adjust the foam airplane earplugs and put hard flat plastic panels on each ear. They slid me in again and again I was screaming screaming let me out. I was pulling up my head and body which I strained trying to get out. It was unbearable. The highest level sound a human can stand before it gets unbearable is 120 decibels and I swear mine was higher. My head was rattling, I couldn't hear my voice in the normal way when I was talking. All the muscles and bones were strained to the max. I have really loved EmergeOrtho but I am so traumatized I dont even want to go to the good machine which I had prior, at another of their locations, until the trauma and anxiety wear off. I ended up in an Urgent Care Center about thirty minutes later. My neck, head, shoulders, even abdomen were feeling like there had been stressed and strained. Also I was worried about my ears. At WakeMed Urgent Care they found no perforations in my ears. They treated my neck and sent me with a Rx for muscle Relaxers plus a strong lidocaine gel. I cancelled the appt I let them to go to the other location and backed out of that one. Too traumatized. My theory: the MRI Machine was from the 60's and the two people in there were clueless. To be fair and just, those two technicians should have to experience what I did. I want to know some things: why did the phone operator tell me I could only get an MRI on a Sunday? Bribery, side hustle ? I want to know the make and model of that machine, and when it should have been retired. I want the names of the technicians. And a good attorney. All names of attorneys are welcome. Only honest will be considered. read more

Update: the lower back surgery was agreed on by multiple doctors and I went ahead with Dr Hannibal. You'd be hard pressed to find a better doctor. An absolute pro from top to bottom. The surgery has been successful so far and I can say this even while still in recovery only a couple of weeks out. It'll take the nerves a little to get back to normal, if they can, but I'm confident I have a good care team. Thanks very much team! read more

It's pathetic that nobody at this facility values patients time and there is nobody to inform them what is going on. I have been here once. Initial visit went okay. I have reached out for two days now with zero response from the doctor that saw me. I'm still in a lot of pain in my knee and am wanting an MRI as this pain has gone on two weeks now..... crickets. Watched about 15 people be called before me and when inquired, was told they didn't call me since I had an appointment and the others were walk in's. I was seen by Dr. William Hage and never want to be seen by him again. First my appointment was at 10:30AM and he did not come into the room until 11:10AM...absolutely ridiculous. Secondly he spent maybe 3 minutes examining my knee which I have been struggling with pain for a while now with no relief despite multiple different things. He automatically just said i was overweight and that's why my knee was hurting. Told me to get ozempic. Did not want to listen to what I had to say and just kept saying it's because i'm overweight. I asked about an MRI and was denied my request. I have been seen at this office by other providers with no issue and this experience makes me never want to go back. read more

Wow! Had to come here for knee pain I'd had for over a month. I called and the administration was able to get me in the same day that I asked to seen. I waited for a few minutes after arriving and then got a few x-rays done. The PA that came in was very kind and understanding about what I was experiencing. I ended up having to get cortisone shots in both knees, which was a lot of pressure and pain, but the PA helped me relax by being so kind. I have to go back to visit a doctor at the end of this month, so I am happy and relaxed to see someone new. I am hoping with lots of exercise and weight loss the problem with my knees will improve. I am staying positive and that has a lot to do with Emerge Ortho! read more

A Shocking Experience: A Negligent Medical Provider's Mishandling of a Broken Wrist My Review: I feel compelled to share my harrowing experience with Emerge Ortho who mishandled my broken wrist, resulting in prolonged pain, loss of function, and unnecessary suffering. The incompetence and disregard I encountered throughout my treatment were nothing short of alarming. Upon first visiting Emerge Ortho with a broken wrist, I had hoped for expert care and a prompt recovery. Unfortunately, my encounter with Dr Kuremsky and his staff quickly turned into a nightmare. From the outset, after being placed in a cast, it was clear that something was wrong with the cast that had been placed on my injured wrist. I immediately voiced my concerns regarding the numbness and tingling sensation I was experiencing in my fingers and hand, but my complaints were brushed off without any serious consideration. Without even an examination or evaluation, an X-ray was performed and the on-call physician assistant {They x-rayed with the cast in place} told me 'it doesn't look much different from earlier x-rays so we are just going to wait and see. Again, an examination or evaluation was never performed before or after the casting. What should have happened is the cast should have been removed and a new one placed. What made matters worse was Dr Kuremsky's staff's complete dismissal of my ongoing discomfort. Despite my persistent complaints of intense burning pain, tingling, and numbness, the provider continuously downplayed my symptoms and failed to take appropriate action. I was shocked by the lack of empathy and attention given to my deteriorating condition. To add insult to injury, Dr Kuremsky's documentation of my progress during follow-up visits was deeply misleading. On each occasion, he falsely claimed and documented examinations that were never performed. He documented that I had full strength and mobility in my hand, without even bothering to conduct the necessary physical tests to validate these assertions. This careless negligence further exacerbated my frustration and eroded any remaining trust I had in this medical provider.   Finally, after enduring months of unbearable pain and a rapidly deteriorating condition, I demanded an electromyography (EMG) test to investigate the cause of my symptoms. The results were nothing short of alarming: "severe impingement of my median nerve" due to the improper casting, the cast was applying severe pressure on the median nerve. The gravity of the situation was so severe that emergent surgery was required the very next day to release the trapped nerve. It is utterly inconceivable that such a critical issue could have been overlooked by the doctor throughout my treatment.  And furthermore, if the physical assessment had been done, why would the EMG show dramatically different results than what he documented one week prior? The road to recovery has been long and arduous. It has taken me a grueling 11 months to regain some functionality in my dominant hand and experience partial relief from the constant pain that has haunted me. The unnecessary suffering and setback I endured due to this medical provider's negligence cannot be understated. I implore anyone seeking medical care for a broken wrist or any other condition to exercise extreme caution when considering Emerge Ortho or Dr Kuremsky. (I requested that the documentation be amended indicating no examination was performed and they adamantly refused. A simple evaluation testing sensory function would have displayed a concern) Their lack of professionalism, dismissive attitude towards patient complaints, and failure to provide competent care have caused me immeasurable pain and a prolonged recovery process. No patient should have to endure what I have gone through, and it is my sincere hope that my review will serve as a warning to others seeking quality medical attention. It is very sad that we cannot trust this group of orthopedic medical professionals and I know that they did NOT care for me with competence. Went in to get fluid drained from my knee. My knee was completely swollen and the pain from the fluid was really bad. When the PA drained the knee, it was not the normal yellowish fluid as in the past. The fluid was blood. The PA asked me if it had ever been that color when getting it drained. It had never been cherry red. The PA stated that that so much pure blood was "concerning". The PA did not know that this was a Hemarthrosis. After withdrawing 120 cc of blood, the pain was almost completely gone. PA provided no post procedure instructions on how to care for the knee at all. And worst of all, he did not know it was a Hemarthrosis that, if not cared for correctly, can damage the knee permanently. When I got home, the knee began to swell again, filling with Blood again to the point that it was worse than when I went in. I called emergeOrtho in Apex and told them and asked if they could drain the knee again. They said they refused to see me anymore for this issue and to make an appointment with a doctor. I had to call an ambulance to take me to the Emergency so that a real "Doctor" could drain the knee again (220+ cc of blood). I was also told specifically how to care for a Hemarthrosis. The swelling never returned after following the Emergency doctor's directions. What is even worse, I had to pay over $773 out of pocket for incompetence. Don't waste you time with these PAs. Especially with joints that you depend on everyday. See a real doctor, that actually has experience enough to know what he/she is looking at when they see it. Another thing for all you "self pay" folks out there. When you ask what the office visit will cost, they refuse to tell you that they have three level determined by the PA. The office visit alone was over $325. I have never paid that much for an office visit with any real MD in my entire life. They surprise you with the outrageous cost and then inform you that you agreed to pay the bill. What they refuse to tell you is that the mystery office visit cost will be, until you get the bill. OT review: The staff is friendly at this location. This is my go to Emerge Ortho and each visit has been great. For the last year I've been dealing with tennis elbow. I met with the doctor at this location and he suggested OT. Tammy is my therapist and she is wonderful. I was hesitant there could be any improvement but after 2 visits the pain and elbow movement improved tremendously. After almost 2 months of weekly visits, my pain level has decreased and I'm so happy I am seeing improvements. I appreciate all her suggestions and willingness to listen to my concerns. The young man who greets all the patients is awesome- he is such a good example of what warm and genuine customer service is all about. In January of 2019, I had neck surgery utilizing one of Emerge Ortho's physicians. The surgery went fine and I received what I thought was very good care. The reason for the one star review is due to what happened afterwards. As I was getting ready to leave the hospital, a guy in street clothes comes into my room with a chart containing all of my private information and he tells me that my doctor sent him by to fit me for a neck brace. Being that I had just had two discs in my neck replaced, this seemed like a reasonable requirement, so I let the guy put the brace on me and I checked out. Three months later, I get a bill for the plastic and Styrofoam neck brace (about as complicated as a pool noodle) saying that they hadn't been paid I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that the reason they didn't get paid was because they had not submitted the proper documentation. I then called Emerge back and told them this. Long story (about 15 hours of my time into it long) short, after making numerous attempts to get the matter resolved (which would have only required emailing a copy of the prescription for the brace to my insurance company), I get a collections call from Don Joy. I was scheduled for a follow up visit today, so I figured that I would talk to them about this when I got there. That is when they attempted to hit me up for a co-pay, even though this was a follow up visit to a surgery that my insurance company paid about $90,000 for. When the check in person told me that she had to charge me the co pay, I asked to speak with a supervisor. After sitting for about 20 minutes, I was called up to the desk and a lady listened to me, then read the notes and then printed up the prescription that had not been sent to the insurance company (so they had done it, but hadn't bothered to send it to the insurance company). She also told me that I was outside of the "global period" (whatever that is) and that I would have to pay the co pay. Emerge was the one who told me that I had to come back at 6 months...I"m feeling fine...so, I don't think that I should have to pay for an office visit. So, I attempted to reach out to my doctor's office direct to let them know what was going on and my call was intercepted and I was referred to a lady name Sam who was identified as a manager. If I wasn't pissed off before I talked with her, I definitely was afterwards! She was rude and when I mentioned that I had paid over $90,000 for this surgery, she asked me if I thought that I was entitled to free medical care forever since I had paid for this surgery...she then said, "and besides, it was your insurance company that paid for the procedure; not me"...to this, I say BULLSHXT!~ My wife, me, and my wife's employer pay a lot of money each month for that insurance and regardless of who cut them their check, we're the ones who paid for this! When I asked to speak with Dr. Musante's office, I was told no...when I asked to speak with Sam's supervisor or somebody in an executive role at Emerge, I was told curtly that Sam was as high as I was going to get... Yelp, I think that you guys are higher on the totem pole.....So, if you are in need of orthopedic care, please let them know that you read this review and decided to go elsewhere! read more

Update- went to pick up the CD of X-ray images today. Again, these are images my insurance has already paid for, and that EmergeOrtho 1) won't make available via their portal and 2) they make you physically come in to pick up (with an injury, natch). There was a sticky note on the CD that said "Low Copay- Charge $10." So if you didn't think they were a bunch of money-grubbers already... Rude front desk staff, very focused on money. the good- the PAs and nurses are great. We've had two emergencies (both ankles) that we went to Emerge to get treated, and both times the actual medical staff were great. the bad- the front desk staff is ruder than the DMV. I don't know what is going on with these guys, but they are perennially exasperated and outright hostile to patients. I came in Weds an hour before close, and the guy at the front desk (name withheld) was just plain mean and irritated that I had come in during business hours with an emergency. After treatment, I was waiting for a ride and had two people come out into the waiting room to ask me to leave. They have no benches or seats outside and I had just been treated for an injury. When I needed a copy of my x-rays, they said they don't make them available online through their patient portal, that it's a $10 fee and you have to go in person to request them. Again, this is for patients who have just had an injury significant enough to seek urgent medical attention... I have to drive to your office and pay you? It's obvious that they don't want you seeking a second opinion or taking your care elsewhere. I'll probably come back if it's an absolute emergency, but any ongoing care I'm going to go somewhere that's professional. read more

I can't say enough about this office. I was severely injured at work back in September. I tore both ACLs in my right and left knees and my meniscus in left. My first visit with a PA to initiate the recovery process was great, he was very nice and recommended a few specific doctors to see at the office. We are now 6 months into a very long recovery and I can't say enough about this office. The office assistants know me by name and some days I don't even have to check in, they just tell me they got me covered. Doctor Hage was my surgeon, and will be again for my second surgery. He is very knowledgeable and realistic about things. My PTs and the PT assistants are AMAZING! The PTs are always upbeat and happy and always give the best positive vibes in their facility, which is exactly what you need when you have gone through a traumatic injury and are mentally struggling. My son was seen for a second opinion for a sprained ankle with severe pain. Two days later the pain was worse, with redness and warm to touch. A PA called me after I requested an appoinment and said they wouldn't see my son due to a fever. I explained all the symptoms and he said to deal with the fever at home then they would see him. I trusted my gut and took my son to emergent care and they sent him to the ED. He had a bone infection and had emergency surgery hours later. If I had listened to the PA at emerge my son would have lost his bone in his foot or worse. read more

I went to The Apex location after hurting my knee. I was told i broke my need and all they want Ed to do in sell me a $105 knee brace, $32 pair of crutches he's and scheduled $500 MRI. I used the crutches for a half day, wore a brace and two days later I no longer had any pain. For $250 I had an X-ray to have my knee misdiagnosed. If I broke my knee I would not be walking and moving without pain. Not good experience. Self healed read more

The diagnosis and treatment of my shoulder injury was fine but was later surprised after being billed $127 for a $16 (@CVS) shoulder sling. Given the prevalence of high deductible health plans, there's really no good reason the staff didn't make me aware that there would be an incremental charge if I accepted the sling. I left a message with the staff manager asking for a call back to discuss their process, but my call was not returned. read more

Got an appointment within a couple days and they're keeping the process moving quickly to treat my knee injury and get me back to my normal self soon. We'll my daughter had hurt herself at gymnastics pretty badly. So I picked her up and we went here. The people there were so friendly and there wasn't too much of a wait. When we checked in it was easy. We just had to fill out information on a iPad they gave us. This is great for emergency's and they give you X-rays here too. read more

I thought maybe I just got lucky for my first visit (X-ray, consult, air cast in 40 minutes!), but I just went for my 2nd visit and once again the staff (special shout-out to Karen Hood) was so professional and nice. read more

Dr Matthew Bogaert PA-C is amazing! We came here for a second opinion and I am glad we did. I left the other place wondering who the Dr was. At the other practice I was given three choices. When we came here, I was reassured that my son was in good care. After reviewing x-rays, Dr Bogaert took control to make sure healing could begin. I felt like he was more concerned about what would be the best prognosis for my child. The two nurses Brooke and Chelsea were great! They charged $400 for my son's boots while the same brand and type cost $60 at Amazon. He was supposed to have them for 6 weeks, but within 3 weeks, velcro came off and they were not staying on his feet. When we went to get them replaced, they were rude and wouldn't replace them. My family has had to visit Triangle Orthopaedics one more than one occasion for minor injuries and we have had nothing but excellent experiences. The staff is very friendly and, most importantly, knowledgeable. Their goal is help you heal and carry on with your normal daily activities as soon as possible. They do not make you come in for unnecessary appointments and they are not just out to make money. Every visit, we have been seen promptly. The last visit was for a sprained LCL. Thank goodness for their urgent care hours. My son was xrayed and examined and we were out of there in 30 minutes. All their diagnosis and treatment plans have been spot on. Triangle Orthopaedic Associates PA has several locations in the Triangle. The Apex office treats conditions from sports injury to urgent care injuries such as weekend broken legs. They even have on-site x-rays and are cheaper than going to urgent care or the emergency room. Last week I made an appointment for my son because he was having knee pain. Dr. Wilson was very thorough and concluded that my son has tendinitis in his knee. The office was very crowded and we did have to wait quite awhile, but it was worth it. We even met one man that comes twice per week for physical therapy after a car accident. I definitely recommend going to Triangle Orthopaedics for joint pain, physical therapy, or even for urgent care. read more

I recently moved to the Raleigh area from Austin, TX and have been trying to find new doctors as I am disabled from two car accidents. I needed a pain and Orthopaedic doctor, so I called to make an appointment with Triangle Or tho. Not a good experience from the start. Vicky is the receptionist I was dealing with. The first time I spoke with her, she was extremely condescending on the phone and obviously judgmental since I asked about pain management. They will not schedule an appointment for you until they receive your records, which was fine. They evaluate your records to determine whether or not you can be seen for pain management then they call you for your appointment. I didn't hear from them even though my pain management doctor in Austin faxed my records, so I decided to call. Once again I get this Vicky. She says yes my records were received and let me see what the notes say. I get her "oohing" and "aaaahhhhhh-ing" and finally a "HUMPH". Vicky then asks me which office I would like to be seen as there are 13 locations-I tell her the location nearest me. It takes her 16 minutes to locate an appointment which is scheduled for over a month from then. This is ridiculous when you have 13 locations! I even ask her if there's a sooner appt. in a different location. No she says. I am debating on whether to keep the appointment if for nothing else than meeting with Vicky's superior and let them know how she treats new patients or just cancel since I found a different doctor. If I do decide to go, I will edit the review to let everyone know what to expect when going to this doc. So far I will give them one star and that's only because there's no "negative" star choice. read more

I've had a headache for five years been to so many different doctors, came across triangle-orthopaedic-associates website I was very excited this place could finally help me. I called told and them exactly my problem and sent over my medical records. I could not wait the two weeks. Big mistake getting my hopes up. Dr. Arcedo rushes in and talked to me like I've seen him every day not like I'm a new patient. Then tells me he does not work with headaches then asks me why I have them. If I had any results from others I would not be there. He didn't even look over the records I sent in two weeks prior. Just very disappoint. read more
