I have friends that run from Dr to Dr & seem to enjoy a full calendar of appts! Go figure??? Not this girl. Anyway.... On to Dr. Levitz! She's a one woman show. She's the only dr in her practice . Reminds me of going to our family dr in the 60's & 70's.... Dr. Harry Abe in Wantagh. In fact.... I haven't found a dr that I liked as much... until I found DR Levitz. The office is located in the Chase Bank bldg on the north side of Merrick Rd. Suite 300. The office is definitely NOT fancy at all. Far from it. But.... She is amazing. Soo caring & very thorough . She'll call you after hrs & always seems to be available. She's not a prescription writer so if you're the type looking for pain pills...she's not the Dr for you. She's very "by the book" & always looking out for your entire well being... Physically, mentally etc. She also offers a vitamin IV treatment. I've done it a few times & I did feel healthier afterwards. I've turned a few friends onto Dr Levitz & they go several times a week for the IV treatments. All in all.... I think she's pretty fantastic!!

My daughters school nurse called to inform me that dr matthews gave her immunizations that she needs for kindergarten not for pre k . I then called dr Matthews office to inform them. Dr matthews called me 2 mins later to argue with me and tell me that the nurse doesn't have her degree speaking of the school nurse as if her degree meant nothing. Then proceeded to tell me that i had no right to tell Her she gave the wrong immunizations. She was so unprofessional and I never experienced that with anyone. For her to hold her degree so high surprised she would speak to anyone in that manner. I only went to her because she was the closest doctor to me. But this on top of her wait time isn't worth it.

The first person I spoke with was a lovely woman who was very helpful. She said that they didn't accept my insurance. Once I heard the cost, I told her I would have to shop around. Once I hung up, I remembered that I have a Visa debit card linked to my health reimbursement account that I typically use to pay for non-covered things. I called back and got a different person. I explained the conversation that I had 60 seconds prior when I called and when I asked if they would accept my card (I've found that not everyone accepts 'FSA' cards as they are called) was met with "you should call your insurance company and find out if you're covered". I explained that I was already told that they didn't accept my insurance but simply wanted to know if they would accept the card. Again I got push back telling me to call my insurance company. When I asked to speak with the woman I had previously spoken with, I was told she was unavailable. I then said that I typically could find out if the card was accepted from the billing department and asked if I could speak to them. Again I was told they were unavailable. I then asked for the man's name. He said Todd though I'm not sure if he was being truthful since he know I was not happy by now. I explained that I would be writing a review to let people know how obnoxious and unhelpful he was. I am a business owner and if one of my people dealt with a potential client like that I would absolutely want to know. I also decided to take it a step further and tell the person who referred me to Real You what happened so that they didn't refer anyone else there.

I had an appointment with Dana once and she was also very good. Lillian was extremely helpful, detailed and personable. She took the time to listen, do a thorough exam and took into account health issues other than the injury that we were working through, which is extremely important. It was very apparent she cares for her patients and has a wealth of and knowledge in her field. I am grateful to her. The front end office staff was very kind, friendly and accommodating- big thanks to Denise and Kim. I would highly recommend Progressive Physical Therapy if you want a professional office that doesn't crowd people in, is very considerate and takes great care of you.

Real, down to earth, not fancy but honest, thorough and terrific. I had seen her for an intial meeting and then went back several months later for a physical. She remembered me. She asked personal questions that we had discussed on the last visit. I know she knew who I was. In a busy practice and being new, I was impressed. The only reason she got 4 stars is you will wait FORVER. Be prepared. For me it is worth it. I waited 2 hours to see her but she spent a good hour with me. She never makes you feel rushed. If you can sit there and not get frustrated waiting, she is well worth the wait. Don't be shy. she will look over every inch of your naked body and prod and poke but you will know you are in great hands and if she says you are OK and healthy, you are.
