The staff (most not all) are rude and do not communicate with family members about their loved one. They do not return phone calls. They talk rudely to the residents and about the residents to other staff members. My loved one sat in their soiled brief for over 2 hours on more than one instance because the nurse would not answer their call to take them to the restroom, which resulted in an infection. My loved one has also been given the wrong medication which resulted in an ER trip. Seniors deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, not like they are children without a say. Do yourself and your family member a favor and do not send them here for nursing/rehabilitation. I can't speak about the other parts but this area is horrible.

As of today 11-4-22 the residents are still not allowed to go to their apartments even to pick up their belongings. Many are living in hotels. The Mayflower neglected to take care of flooding which has happened in the past but this time it fried their electrical, the generator and the elevators. Here is the latest update from CEO Steve Kramer on 11-4-22: This week, we continued to make progress on repairs to our electrical system. We received two tractor trailer loads of temporary electrical gear, which are being prepared for installation once the demolition of the existing electrical equipment is complete. We expect demolition to be complete and equipment installation to begin by the middle of next week. Once temporary gear is installed and activated, we will be able to initiate elevator repairs. Again, much of this work is happening simultaneously. As you know, we originally asked residents to prepare to vacate their apartments for three to four weeks, based on information we had at the time. Next week will be the four-week mark - and while we have made monumental progress in a relatively short amount of time, given the scope of our repairs, we clearly will not be able to have residents return yet. Because we are still awaiting confirmation on lead times for some critical repair components, we cannot yet provide a specific return date - but our contractors and suppliers are working with us to expedite the process as much as possible. As soon as we are able to solidify the timeline, you will know. We've had a number of inquiries regarding concerns about the possibility for mold growth in the apartments. Please know that we are regularly monitoring the apartment towers, and both our Building Services Director and Director of Construction agree that this should not be a concern in the apartments. Additionally, the garage and areas that were inundated with water have been remediated and treated as well. Many of you have been visiting the new Mayflower healthcare building. If you do: As a matter of safety, please do not park in the designated Fire Lane when you first enter the new building's parking lot. The City of Winter Park has been issuing citations to vehicles parked in that area. Finally, I'd like to share some good news: Last night, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce held their annual Best of Winter Park reception. I am happy to let you know that, once again, The Mayflower was voted Best Senior Living! Congratulations! You are all a big part of helping us achieve this recognition. Steven Kramer, FACHE President / CEO

Caution: HarborChase of Dr. Phillips Assisted Living…read more My parents lived here for 41 days (Aug 15-Sept 25, 2025). After I filed a complaint, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) issued a 48-page Statement of Deficiencies citing failures including not following physician orders and medication-related deficiencies. These findings are public record. During those 41 days there were three Executive Directors (DJ, Tammy, and Heather). The Head of Maintenance (Luis) also left. When I moved my parents out, I confirmed a zero balance. Our sales agent had represented one free month. After move-out, Katherine Schachter (Regional Director of Operations) and Mark McBride (Chief Operating Officer) provided written assurances regarding credits and refunds. However, full billing statements were not provided until February 26, 2026 -- five months later -- After my parents had already moved out, we received two phone calls delivering the same recorded message from Heather (Executive Director) identifying by first and last name an Independent Living resident who had died by suicide. I reported this as a potential privacy concern. Based on our documented experience, I do not recommend HarborChase of Dr. Phillips Assisted Living. The response to my post is to contact HarborChase. No I gave you 5 months to correct your mistakes. Give my parents their money back!! You violated both the medical and financial part of the contract!

From the moment you arrive, it feels more like a five-star resort than a senior living facility. HarborChase offers an impressive array of amenities that cater to both comfort and enrichment. Whether it's the beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces, the fitness and wellness programs, or the vibrant calendar of social events, there's always something engaging happening. The dining experience is another standout feature. With multiple restaurant-style venues serving gourmet meals, HarborChase elevates senior living to a culinary experience. It's also worth highlighting that under the leadership of a new executive director, HarborChase is undergoing a noticeable transformation. Her attention to detail and hands-on approach are clearly driving meaningful improvements in resident care and overall operations. If you're basing your opinion on reviews from a year or two ago, it's important to know--things have changed for the better.

Hospice patients are put in the oldest building on the campus directly next and under the helicopter flight path and landing area. Next to ambulance parking and loading docks. Noise non stop. Our "finest" room had one sofa to sleep on. I had to fight w charge nurse to move chairs to create a place to sleep next to my husband. No cleaning in room for six days. Inadequate saftey in bathroom and a communal shower! Total bio hazard! Save that one nurse the staff was wonderful, doctor caring but when I raised hell about the facility I was told improvements would be made but they would not be moving patients to any of their new construction or newly acquired buildings. They simply DO NOT CARE about dying patients. Its been a month since I requested from the hospice manager to be contacted by his direct boss. Nothing. My husband's remark when transfered " I worked hard all my life to die in a dump" My family is forever scarred by this place.

The description of services and the initial at home set up was nothing like we were told. When calling to notify we were home & we were told we'd get a tuck in visit, no one ever came. When calling the woman fumbled the phone & said she'd let someone know. The communication has been nonexistent. No call, no help getting us prepared at home. My Mother is pretty much bed bound & her husband needs guidance. Her meds were supposed to be in a "bubble wrap" set, easily labeled & prefilled syringes...this is not what we received. The at home hospital bed with special mattress looks ancient & doesn't have leg rails...not ideal. If this doesn't change I will be seeking a new provider very soon.
