I wanted a D.O., not an…read moreM.D. From my experience, most M.D.s take a narrow-minded, non-functional approach to medicine. They're trained to treat disease, not prevent it. Osteopathic training is more holistic, viewing the body as an integrated organism, not simply the sum of its parts. Unfortunately, many Osteopaths disregard their functional training and essentially practice as M.D.s. I wanted a real, practicing Osteopath, not an Osteopath in name-only, so I Googled "Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy Las Vegas" and Dr Wirtz's website was displayed at the top of the search results. OMT is a little-known physical therapy, conceptually similar to Chiropractic, but practiced by an actual medical doctor, not a Chiropractor. I visited an Osteopath years ago when I was experiencing some back pain due to a sports injury and he fixed my back in one session. Currently, I have no pain, but I theorized any D.O. who actively practices OMT is a real D.O., not someone who settled because he couldn't get into an M.D. school. I'm pleased to report my research paid off. Everything about my visit to Dr. Wirtz's office was five stars. His office staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the wait time was minimal. Dr. Wirtz himself was amazing. He's obviously extremely competent, but beyond that, he communicated with me in an adult manner, without even a hint of the condescension you get from so many doctors. After reviewing my medical history, he ordered a bunch of tests. Without getting into specifics, I can say that some of the blood tests he ordered are consistent with what I'd expect from a progressive-thinking doctor, who's concerned with prevention, not just treatment. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased and recommend Dr. Wirtz highly!

However, I can say now that I have met with Dr. Wirtz, twice, that I am very pleased he is my doctor. His staff is very friendly and they call you personally to remind you of appointments. (it's not an animated system) The wait time is longer than I would care for, but when the doctor does finally, come through the door, he is genuine, personable and puts all feelings of nervousness at ease. He patiently listened to my concerns, and I never felt rushed or hurried. The best part was when he informed us that he will be seeing my wife and I for every scheduled appointment and, if at all possible, all the emergency visits as well. I personally have several health issues. I'm currently being treated by 2 other doctor's offices. It's very important to have my PCP as a quarterback of sorts to oversee and coordinate all care. My wife had blood test results from a wellness visit organized by our health insurance through Quest Labs. Dr. Duenas took plenty of time to go through each result with us. He seemed to have all the time in the world for us even though I'm certain that was not the case. I could go on and on and on, but I will leave with last point. My wife is Filipino and I chose Dr. Duenas because it showed that he spoke Tagalog. Even though she speaks English just fine, I wanted to be sure that my wife's care didn't suffer from any miscommunication. That worked well. He has a very straight forward tell it like it is attitude He does not sugar coat anything. If you are a smoker and need to quit to help your recovery, he's going to tell you, "you need to quit or your recovery is going to be F***ed". He isn't rude or heartless. He is just very straight forward. He has amazing surgical record, he has never done me wrong when it's come to any of my surgies. Yes I've had multiple surgeries only because of the problems I have with my spine that just keep getting worse, it's nothing that the doctor has done. He keeps fixing me. The office staff is freaking amazing, I not only have their personal lines at the office but I even have some of their personal cell numbers. If I need something . Back in 2014 when I was being checked into the hospital for my emergency surgery, my family was stuck in Las Vegas before we moved here, Nagy actually payed for a hotel room for my family to help us out while we were trying to figure out where everyone was going to stay and who was going to stay and who was going to go home and watch the kids and dogs. I worked as a surgical coordinator in Los Angeles for a decade, and I have never seen a medical office this disorganized. Regardless of the doctor's credentials or affiliations, the patient experience matters. I would not go anywhere near this practice after this experience. I'll be continuing my care at UCLA.

Today I was screamed at for almost 20 minutes by workers at this medical office. I've had multiple…read morenegative experiences, especially with the office manager. Today (10/17), when I was simply trying to obtain my medical notes, Vivian and the office manager screamed at me, continuously talked over me, invalidated the truth, and verbally assaulted me. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting where patients should feel respected and supported. My initial visit on 9/20 was due to a serious medical emergency--I was found unconscious and rushed to the hospital. I was seeking immediate outpatient medical treatment and expected the office to provide professional assistance during this critical time. However, that was far from the case. When I first arrived on 9/20, I was required to sign a privacy policy notice agreement but was never shown the actual policy. Later, on 9/23, I tried accessing my medical notes through their online portal, but encountered issues. Vivian helped set up my account and spent almost 30 minutes troubleshooting the portal, only to tell me she would call me back once she could see it from the user's perspective. I never received that call and was left completely in the dark about my medical records. Due to the condition I was in after the hospital visit, I was unable to handle all my medical and business matters, so my mother (who is my caretaker) called on my behalf. She also experienced passive-aggressive, uncooperative behavior from the office manager. Despite multiple calls and follow-ups over three weeks, we've received little to no resolution and extreme unprofessionalism. After more than 10 calls with no resolution and today's disturbing confrontation with Vivian and the office manager, I am seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the Nevada State Board for the mismanagement of my care and the verbal abuse I experienced. In the meantime, I've decided to maintain my composure, disengage, and pursue alternative care away from this toxic and verbally abusive environment.

Firstly, I wanna start by saying the staff has not been rude by any means, but just extremely unprofessional and unorganized. I started going to this doctor, specifically Dr. Noorda, because of the incredible reviews he had about him as far as his practice and medicine... I wanna make it very clear that I am only continuing to come to this office because of the incredible care that I've received from Dr. Noorda and only because of that. Otherwise, it has been extremely frustrating and an impeccable waste of my time... I Initially went in 11/26 to get blood drawn and provide samples that I was asked for for testing... When I arrived, there was a ton of confusion on what test were actually supposed to be performed on me so that was frustrating, and then after they finally figured everything out, and I was able to provide them with the correct paperwork, they took the samples they thought I needed it, and I proceeded to leave the office as normal... Literally less than three minutes later they called me back to back letting me know if I'm able to rush back in. They forgot to give me some test that we're on the list for me that day, which was already a red flag, but I decided that everyone makes mistakes and I went back in with no problem., Mind you I live over 25 minutes away, so this is not convenient travel wise for me by any means, but I will travel anywhere for good care. Fast-forward to today, December 4, I go in for my appointment to drop off the test that I was sent home with 11/26 to test me further, and when I went in to drop off the samples, everything appeared to be fine. I gave them to the phlebotomist, And I left... As per usual. Unbeknownst to me, I'm driving 25 minutes away to go back home and get back to work, I'm on a work call as I drive home and I noticed that Mountain View called me twice back to back... So now I have to go back for my appointment December 18, but we were originally supposed to discuss all of the results that I had already sent in, now that Appointment is essentially obsolete because the testing still isn't done, mind you I have driven back-and-forth to the office more than five times now trying to achieve the same results and something that should be extremely simple... all she could literally tell me verbatim was "well you don't have to drive back up here if you don't want to I was just making you aware"... Girl of course I have to drive back up there. This is my health we're talking about, no matter how frustrating it is I'm going to do whatever it takes to finally get these test submitted, but wow the hoops I've had to go through is crazy!
