I went to see her for the CGC exam, and we went through all 10 parts. My dog did a great job with just a few prompts. She tried to nitpick a couple of things, but nothing major. The only part he couldn't complete was staying alone for 3 minutes with the evaluator--which, from my understanding, can be waived since he's my service dog. Then she claimed he failed three portions, which was simply not true. I was so upset I asked her to redo the test. She ran through everything on camera again, and he did great. Then she brought out another dog and started clicking while bringing it over--something no trainer should do. My dog gave a subtle growl but stayed in place. She jumped on that, said he failed, refused to continue the evaluation, and tried to push me into training with her. What a crook. If you use her, I promise issues will come up eventually. I paid $75 for that evaluation, and my dog passed the test with flying colors. WHAT A CROOK! FKIN SCAMMER. I thought I replied to her comment, but I sent her a message directly, so I am sharing with you what I said to her. Please work to uphold the integrity of the business: She contradicted herself, calling my dog sweet while claiming "aggression" was the issue. He passed every requirement except the 3-minute stay, which she refused to complete. Yes, he whined, but the entire interaction felt off from the start. We found Emily Scott through our Next door app and she came so highly recommended we felt she was someone we could trust with our little 6 year old dachshund who had been suffering with timidness and anxiety for several years that wasn't there as a puppy. She came yesterday for a consultation and implemented a tailored plan for behavioral modification. What we appreciated is she sat down and started from the beginning and wanted to know the timeline up to the onset of the anxiety and shaking/peeing. Within 15 minutes, with a few questions she was able to answer a question we had been asking for several years! She had figured out that our sweet little girl had been severely affected by an illness I had which resulted in surgery, treatment and recovery. Her words were, "Her whole world was turned upside down when she sensed what was going on with you and in the household." WOW, within 15 minutes she had an answer we had been looking for, for years! She sat and listened to the concerning behaviors and then explained the treatment ladder theory. That is you start out at the bottom step with simple movements being rewarded in a repetitive way with high value treats (Emily brings great chicken pieces for you to use) and then add something to that until you achieve the behavior you want without the negative reactive behavior! She was so kind, patient and our little girl that was so scared of anyone in the house was actually coming up to her! What a change! Emily reassured us that even with consistency, it could take weeks maybe a year but it would happen if we were consistent. We have searched for a behavioral modification specialist and during that time attended several obedience and reactionary classes but this was completely different. It was as if we were taking our little fur daughter to a Therapist to work through her mental struggles. In my opinion, Emily Scott is the best! She truly is a Dog Whisperer!
