I took my 3 year old Doberman to board and train for two weeks. The main reason was his uncontrollable reactivity with other dogs. He couldn't leave the house without a muzzle. We have had our 6 month old St. Berdoodle, Pepper, back from training now for roughly two weeks. She spent one week at Off Leash K9 Training with Sabrina at the beginning of the month. Sabrina was great at providing updates throughout the week. She talked us through the process and gave indications of what we could expect. Pepper went to the training about as young as they will accept for a puppy. So, we understood that some of her quirks were just her being a young puppy. Since returning home, Pepper no longer chews on the leash every time we walk. She "heels" very well. She's the only dog I've ever had now that doesn't pull during walks. Pepper will recall with "come" 90% of the time, even when she's really into whatever she's doing. She knows "place", "sit", and "down" very well. I have two very playful, sweet but stubborn dogs. I enrolled Balty and Charlie in the 2 week Board and Train program. They assign your dogs a trainer. I requested the same trainer for my dogs because even if I wanted to have them trained individually. I wanted them to be trained together. Balty my bernedoodle is 30lbs. much bigger than Charlie my 10lb. cockapoo. It has been my dream to be able to walk them together. It's utter chaos when I would try to since Balty would keep pulling and Charlie would get dragged into whichever direction that was! Thank you to their amazing trainer Dom, I am now able to do so! I get to walk them side by side with no issues. I gave Dom the major issues I wanted to him to focus on. I was so proud to see my boys doing so well in the videos they sent everyday. When Balty had allergies Dom let me know right away, and asked permission if he could give him Benadryl. He always kept me informed if the dogs didn't eat well or whatever. There was a turnover to teach me the commands and what to do before the HANDOVER. This program is also about consistency for the parents to continue the work that the trainer has done with your dogs. I was able to walk Charlie at Walgreens off leash and I was so excited. In August, my family adopted a very rowdy boy! His name is Blue. He came into our family with ZERO training and even less manners! Blue is your typical "bull in a China shop" boy and he's always coming in hot. This is a problem due to his size and strength. We absolutely needed help. I signed up for the 1 week Board and Train program. The enrollment was very easy and the instructions were clear. I knew what to expect from the beginning. Sebrina, a trainer, reached out to me a few days before Blue took off for "camp" to get an idea of what my major concerns were. She introduced herself and told me what to expect at drop off. Dropping Blue off was a breeze. Sebrina met me by my car and took him. Sebrina was very communicative with me during Blue's stay. I received DAILY photos, videos and report cards. This made me feel included in Blue's adventures. It also gave me insight to what I was going to be learning when Blue came home. I showed up to pick up Blue. Sebrina met me out by my car and walked me to a "demo room". She explained to me in thorough detail what Blue learned, how to operate the new E-collar (she even went over warranty information). I felt prepared to take ownership of the remote. Sebrina worked with me giving Blue his new commands. She made sure we were both comfortable the entire process. I wanted to update my review as it's been about 9 months since signing up Augie for the 2 week board and train. As I mentioned in my previous review Augie was great when he first got back home. I practiced with Augie regularly on his heal and recall using the collar with the goal to eventually stop using the collar all together. Unfortunately Augie will only listen to the commands if he has the collar on. Had I known that this training only works long term if you use the collar, I would have never signed him up. The only reason Augie listens with the collar on is because he is afraid of being shocked. My husky was a little sad and exhausted yesterday and today that it was rough to get her to practice her training but she is so calm now. Marissa did a great job training us on how to use the commands and work with our dogs. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is definitely the communication. When I first called for a quote and to ask questions I had. I was told a trainer will call back soon which they did. So then I ended up going with them, paid in full, and reserved the dates I needed. After several weeks, didn't hear anything and so I kept reaching out to the original person who I talked to. Finally weeks later, they sent me an email I was supposed to have gotten after my reservation and I set up my profile. Again several weeks past didn't hear anything and it was getting closer to the drop off date. I reached out again and the same person was like you haven't received any information yet. I replied no. We sent our very sweet (VERY stubborn) husky mix to off leash after watching ALL of their YouTube videos. One of our concerns was leash walking (he loved to yank me around the neighborhood). And if he was ever off leash, he was an accident waiting to happen. Despite our best efforts, he had absolutely no recall- even when I would bring rotisserie chicken to bribe him. I once had to get into a stranger's car after he took off on me and crossed a busy street in Fresno. I hated that we couldn't enjoy off leash activities with him. I was initially, like a lot of people, very against e-collar training. After doing some research, I realized that e-collar training IS the SAFEST option if you're working with a dog who isn't afraid of bolting away and running across dangerous streets to say hi to a squirrel. It was SUPER hard to be away from Oso during his training, but we really appreciated the daily report cards from his trainer, Ari. Unfortunately, Oso's time was cut a little short because he did catch a fever during his stay. Ari was very communicative and kept us informed when he initially stopped eating. We took him to the vet and once he was feeling better, Ari gave us the option to drop him off to resume training. We decided to just drop him off for a couple hours because we couldn't say "goodbye" to him again. If you have a dog with stubborn tendencies, don't expect to just send your dog off and for him/her to be "fixed" after a couple weeks. The staff members aren't magicians, but they are very talented professionals. They certainly laid down the foundation with Oso and taught us how to continue working on his skills. Please know that you have to put in work though if you want to see a change at home. Months later, we are still working with him every single day, and we now get to do things with him that we never thought were possible. We took our two 3 year old Cane Corso Mix boys to get trained because we were having some difficulty with both of them; they knew some commands, but they couldn't walk on a leash and they had some aggression issues. My dog completed a 3 week program with OffLeash K-9 and I am super satisfied with his progress. I was very skeptical that my anxious dog could benefit from e-collar training, but the trainers (Lilly, Moe and others) had the knowledge and experience to change how my dog interacts with the world. I am so impressed with the transformation my dog Theo had while in the wonderful hands of Geoff and the other trainers. The two week board and train was the best money I have ever spent!!! My crazy, stubborn, miserable to walk Aussie is now fun to be around, enjoyable to walk, and I feel so much more in control of him when out in public. Our experience with Off Leash Fresno and our primary trainer Courtney was fantastic!! We did the two-week board and train for our two Australian Shepherds (17mo male and 11mo female). We were having a lot of high-energy dog issues: constant barking in the back yard, jumping our garden's fence to bark at passersby, jumping on and barking at every new guest in our home, pulling hard on the leash during walks, even snagging food off the table when our backs were turned. We had tried every bit of training we knew how to do, but they were both stubborn. Enter Off Leash Fresno: great coordination up front, and they listened to every bit of input we could give about the dogs. They sent us updates via text every night the dogs were there with pictures and video, and answered questions that we texted back. On pickup, our primary trainer Courtney spent as much time as we needed training us thoroughly, and then we got to practice with the dogs and her. She was fantastic!! Most importantly, the dogs' behavior has changed dramatically!! They are so much better, and we now have the tools we need to keep their training up consistently.
