I've had two very positive experiences at Eminence Nail Bar, both of which were on a Saturday. Most recently, I was here for a gel mani and a regular pedi. I was one of the first customers (without an appointment) and they took me right away. My nail technician was Heidi. She took care of me the first time I visited, so I requested her again. Eminence Nail Bar has an insane amount of colors to choose from. I don't think I've ever been to a nail salon that had more than one basket of colors. Pedicure chairs are comfortable and offer massage. What really stuck out to me was the level of customer service provided. While your nails cure under the UV light, the nail tech comes around and gives you a shoulder/neck massage. Super relaxing. Another thing that I have NEVER gotten from another nail salon is a paraffin wax hand mask. They dunk your hands in the wax 3 times, and then your hands get wrapped with plastic wrap. You wait 5-10 minutes and they remove the plastic wrap. The paraffin wax slides right off your hands like a glove! I was so fascinated by the whole process, and the best part is it makes your hands feel extremely soft. Like a baby's bum! LOVED IT! Prices are fair. I believe it was $45 for both. I may be wrong, but I feel as though they have a cash special if you pay with cash instead of card. Definitely worth asking about. I came here over the winter and had a good experience. Staff was friendly. I asked for a spa pedi and it was awesome. It also looked great and lasted a good amount of time. I can't say those things this time around. I got a spa pedi this time too but it was kind of awful. I really wanted to like this place. I probably would have been coming biweekly over the summer since the location is so convenient for me, but that won't be happening now. My nails look like the paint will start chipping tonight. Staff wasn't friendly from my perspective. I even felt weird asking for my card stamped at the end. So I didn't. They didn't offer either. On the upside it was a clean salon. It's the only positive thing I can say. But that's a big deal so they get two stars for that. Maybe the tech was having an off or bad day. Not sure what happened, maybe I'll try again in the future sometime. Definitely not this summer though. read more

Owner is super sweet and they are much more friendly and courteous than a lot of the nail salons in the northeast and Philly in general. I was up here to meet a client and just took a chance . Not only Did They fit me in--they did so graciously . They have organic products but I got a standard gel and it was beautiful . They also will give you a free glass of wine :) Dee did my pedi and Annie was a sweetheart too. Let's begin with the positives. This place is definitely clean and hygienic which is a plus for me. The staff is pretty friendly and they try to make conversation if you are willing to talk. The negatives they pick and choose who they will offer wine. I received a pedicure and SNS dip on my hands. I thought I deserved a glass of wine with the amount I paid but unfortunately I was only offered water. My feet were painted average. The tech barely massaged my feet or scrubbed my feet. In regards to the SNS she took her time but unfortunately my nails are all different lengths. I pointed it out and the tech stated it's impossible to match. I don't think I'll return but if your looking for a average nail salon then this is the place for you. read more

This is definitely one of the better nail salons in the NE Phily area. The space was clean, the selection vast, and the staff was super sweet. I got a full set and my only complaint was that I wasn't asked to choose my nail shape. That is partly my fault since I couldve been a little more assertive and interrupted her while she in the process. Prices are as expected. Called and made an appointment for full set. Got there and no one had put my appointment in the books. I was told if I waited 30 minutes, the next nail tech would do my nails. Waited the 30 minutes, someone started my nails and stopped 5 minutes in because HER appointment walked in. So then I was relocated and told to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes until the next available nail tech. As you can tell, horrible customer service. I have a vacation planned, and leave the next day or I would have went somewhere else. Had they told me on the phone they couldn't take me, I would have just made an appointment else where. I'm just sitting here, currently STILL waiting on the next available nail tech. Not worth the hassle coming here. Never again. read more

This is a two week follow up from initial nail appointment. There has been no chipping and gel polish still has a shine. So I'll start off by saying the girls in here are beautiful, nice personalities, and the salon was beautiful. They had a lot of polishes, but alot of them were similar. My nails turned out nice and my pedicure and full set were acceptable-- Dee Did all of my work. They offered me water (not wine) which was a nice gesture. I got there at 1:30 got in the pedicure chair right away and did not leave until 4:25--work was pretty slow. But I will not be returning for the following reasons: --Pricing is Listed on thr menu differently than what I was charged. I was charged for Nail Shaping and having long nails... Never have I been charged a "shaping fee" or to have my nails "long"--but my nails are normal length. According to the menu I should have paid 55.00 dollars plus tip, I was charged 73.00 not including tip. )=. I couldda went to Center City and Paid less. I was also told about a 20% discount for using Cash but she said its a discount for "natural nails only".... What the hell?? How does tht even make sense?? So the last reason I won't come back is because while Dee was putting the acrylic on my nails(after doing 3 nails she kept saying "I don't like this acrylic, it drys too fast, this is the cheaper one" and said she has some of the other stuff she usually uses in the back. If you made a mistake and used cheap stuff on your clients nails and tell them, I would think you would change the product you were using especially if you're only 3 nails in, but she just kept going. She then filed my nails and said "yeah this acrylic is white it's suppose to be pink, this is def the cheap stuff--i don't like it"( so why would you think your customer would like it? Huh? Why?). Then after telling me she used the "cheap acrylic " she still charged me full price which was inflated from 55.00 in total to 73.00. I don't go to places to have "cheap" products used on me, especially when I can afford to have service with above average products--I don't patronize hood salong because they use the "cheap stuff". Today (June 16) my dad and I went to get manis and pedis and this place was amazing! I called ahead to make sure they accepted walk-ins (I was coming from far so I had to make sure) and we headed over. The place is very chic and clean. They offered us wine, water, or soda upon arrival. We started with pedicures and they wrapped the pedicure bath in plastic, which was a super plus. We had the organic pedicure and it was amazing! The staff here is very kind and they offer water, warm towels, and the salon is nice in appearance. Unfortunately, their experience is questionable and I am an extremely unhappy with the gel manicure and eye lash extensions that I received here. The gel manicure went from purple into a grey- beige spotting color within 25 hours. They did fix this the next day; but it still meant 2 sessions and 2 trips for me, something that is hard to fit into schedule and shouldn't have to happen with quality nail polishes. My lash extensions fell of within days, so free of charge, again, they added a few more hairs to the eye that was 1/3 bare compared to the other one. Once I got the lashes removed professionally (elsewhere) I was told they stacked way too many lashes per hair follicle. I am left with no lashes. I sent them photos as said I won't retuning but hope they continue their training process because I am extremely saddened to be left with no lashes, especially since this never happened with elsewhere. Losing my lashes was due to error on their part and they saw the message and did not even acknowledge my concerns. The staff is nice but that doesn't negate the fact that their work is low quality. read more

I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a clean, friendly atmosphere to get your nails done. Mo did a great job on my nails. She was kind and meticulous. The time she took to make sure my French manicure looked perfect was very much appreciated. So my understanding is they sold this business. There is only 1 girl I know still working there. Went back and tried the new employees but very disappointed. They lady I had do my nails tried but I have to say they look horrible and need done again after 1 week. I tried to tell her what I wanted when she was doing my nails but she didn't understand. My mom and I were a walk-in on a week night. The ladies working there were able to accommodate us right away. They were beyond polite and nice and made small talk with us. We got a mani-pedi and it was nice enough. They're priced a little higher than some other local spots but the services are the same. I opted to pay a bit more for the UV-less gell polish which I always get at my local salon and it ended up starting to chip in about two days. They put a base coat on my nails even though you're not supposed to with this kind of polish but the woman working on my nails assured me it was fine. Not sure if this was the reason my nails chipped so quickly but this was for a wedding I was in 2 days later so I was super careful with my nails. read more

I've been a regular at this nail salon for a couple of years now. I loved this place a lot up until recently. They're often short staffed, and will even sometimes help people walking in after before they sit me down. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind waiting at all. However, it doesn't sit well when one of the employees tell me they'll help me in 5 mins, then I'm waiting for 30. Even further, when I'm finally getting my nails done and someone is impatiently waiting to be helped after me, the nail techs will often rush my set to help the other client. Not a great look. Do NOT be fooled by the good reviews from a few months back, this salon was recently sold and is NOT worth the one star that I am forced to select!! Its sad seeing such a good salon go down the drain because of new management. Just like the two women below, I had my nails done here once after the new management took over and you could see/feel each stroke of the polish. I was cut and burned multiple times! Horrible service! I went into the salon with my sister just to take off the set of acrylics we had on. There was more than one person working there at the time but on person worked on both of us at the same time. We didn't mind that if she was going to do a good job. But no, it was terrible. She pulled off the acrylics, which I could have done at home. Then she buffed down my natural nails and made both my sister and I bleed. Today was my first time coming to Eminence. It is a nice nail salon. The inside is neat and clean. I got the $35 Spa Pedicure, and a full set, acrylic nails. The pedicure was average. They did take their time, but I feel they focus more on the spa part, messages, hot stone etc., then the actual pedicure. I haven't had a pedi since last summer, so I was in desperate need of one. I feel like she didn't work on my feet and dead skin as much as she could have. When I asked if they had any designs, they told me to just look online. Which is totally fine, but it's nice to see the salons work and designs they can do also. But they didn't have any. They did work a little slower. I was there for about 3.5 hours. The full set was average as well. They do use white acrylic, which I read in another review is because it's cheaper. However my nails were NOT cheap. I got gel nails. No design. I did get my ring finger a different color, but that's it. My total for a spa pedicure and full set with gel was $84. That is A LOT. I asked her to go over the pricing but it was a bit hard to understand. Pedicure was $35 plus $5 for each design so $45 total. Meaning my regular acrylic full set was $40. $23 for the full set, $10 for gel polish (which is expensive for gel compared to most salons). So I am a little lost where the other $8 came from. Anyway, the final look was just good. I was happy with them, except I did have some bubbles on my nails which was odd. The staff is very nice and friendly. Because of the pricing though, I am not sure I'd come back. But not against it either. read more

Never again!!!! I used to love Eminance I had gone every 2 weeks for years and I walked in 2 weeks ago to find all new staff. When I asked where Tam, Ella, Dee (etc) I was they told they all went back to school????? It turns out the shop was sold and they fired everyone.
