Stopped in the get the emissions test done on my car I had completely forgot about it because I have been going back and forth to the hospital for my mother in law here in Calvert and my father in Salisbury. I explained that to them and they took my late fee off, that was extremely nice to know that they would do this. Any way my car failed because we have 4 other cars and the battery died because of that the information was gone in the computer so I have to come back after a couple weeks need to drive the car to get the information back on the computer. The Maryland Vehicle Emissions Testing is a GIANT and pointless pain in the butt. Maryland has 24 counties, but only the residents of 13 counties are penalized by this stupid system. Supposedly designed to create cleaner air, this requirement only applies to about 60 percent of the two million vehicles in Maryland. Why?? I live about a 1/2 mile from St. Mary's county, whose residents aren't subjected to this idiotic and expensive test every two years. That's right, every two years I have to waste a couple hours and $14 driving to a station 25 miles away so they can tell me my brand new vehicle passes the test. But people 1/2 mile away can drive whatever piece of smog spewing crap they want. I don't get it. Worse, Maryland has no safety inspections. You can drive any old unsafe machine you want, risk the lives of other Motorists and no Maryland legislator or public official cares. That's life here in the "People's Republic of Maryland." Years and years of liberal political rule untouched by common sense. But, at least it's not New Jersey. read more
