Parents - please at the very minimum - watch your child the whole time! Please!…read more On 8/30/25, my son was day 1 of level 4, still not able to swim on his own. The GM and water watcher were chit-chatting near the pool for awhile instead of watching for safety. The instructor had him swim to the middle of the pool with her walking with him. Then she turned him around and had him swim to the other end alone. She turned around with her back to him, and started talking to the GM and water watcher. My son started to panic - ALMOST DROWNED. He was splashing, flailing, gasping for air with no one to help him. I was stuck behind the glass - I should have jumped up immediately and ran. But within seconds, he managed to get near the instructor and touch her. She turned around and put him on the step. Not one staff member had a look of concern or noticed my son - NO ONE HAD EYES ON HIM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE POOL NOR KNEW HE ALMOST DROWNED. I went to the front, and they brought out the GM. The GM didn't want to listen to me. She told me that my son kicked the instructor on his way back (by accident) and it winded her. She instructs all instructors to turn away from the student when they get winded. I never a person get winded and not take some deep breaths. According to the GM, "we all saw it [the kick and winding]." They apparently all saw it, and DID NOTHING. The GM didn't walk over to my son. So lesson here is if the instructor gets "winded" your child is on their own in the pool - the GM only cares about the instructor not your child. Here is my takeaway on the safety at Aqua-Tots at Stone Oak in San Antonio: - A video tells parents to sit out of sight for safety, so you won't even know if a safety incident occurs and when it does, they will tell you whatever. - The GM chit-chats in the pool area with the water watcher instead of watching for the safety of the students - If an instructor gets hurt, the instructor is first priority and the student is left in the middle of the pool to survive on their own. - I received an email from someone who didn't witness the event and said it was within safety of the school, so this incident is within the safety of their school - so you can see if that is safe for your child. - Some senior instructors seem bored and stare out at the parents instead of the student. I contacted HQ, and the owner called me afterwards, but we have left voicemails back and forth. I will remove this review if the owner or HQ gives me assurance and some details that more safety protocols are in place and the staff have been trained on these. Some examples: - No chit-chatting with each other once they pass the glass into the pool area; - If an instructor gets injured, the water watcher and/or management immediately step in to help the students; - Management re-evaluates staff for staff not paying attention to students - Close-down for some time (day or hours) if a near-drowning occurs, so staff can assess what occurred and how to prevent it in the future. My son feels traumatized - has flashbacks (searching left and right for help, wondering if he was going to run out of air and drown), wondered why no one was helping him. I hope every student and staff member are safe always, which is why I posted this review - so no one has to experience what my son did. God bless!

Now, my daughter is 4 and we are back twice a week! Obviously she did not retain anything, but we definitely did not have to start in that baby class again. The classes are kept small, the teachers are interactive and fun, and their program is fast paced. You're paying for lessons, not fun time - so I was glad to see that they pay close attention to the kids' progress so they can keep advancing them through the program to avoid dull, repetitive lessons. I get reports by email that tell me what she has accomplished. They do a great job of rewarding progress. I hope to send my son (now 2) as soon as he is out of his temper tantrum stage!

Seems like the instructors are more focused in getting the lessons over with as quickly as possible & waste so much time fixing/messing with kids' goggles! If the kids get 15 mins of instruction, that's a lot. Scheduling is difficult bc there aren't a lot of options. AND they false advertised about their promotions. I was told I'd get a 50.00 credit for referrals & a sibling discount, which I got neither!! I have been asking for a refund for these credits since we started & my credit card had been charged. They kept telling me someone would reach out to through email & that has been a lie! So disappointed in this business. Look for other swim schools! I also read that their instructors are not certified.

Love, love, love the Camp Active summer camp at Alamo Gymnastics! This is probably the most…read moreorganized and informative camp I've ever enrolled my kids in. My 9yo daughter went for 2 full weeks (8:00-4:00) and my 5yo son did 2 of their half-days (8:30-1:30). Both kids had a blast this summer! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. My daughter takes gymnastics classes here, so this camp is just another great service that they offer. Rates are on par with other camps. Electronic devices are prohibited during this active camp, which I think is a great policy! Kids do not need to be plugged in everyday. I like how the kids are grouped by age and each week has a different theme (sports, space exploration, safari, etc.). They do a theme-related craft each day, which is cute. We get a kick out of them, even though some are geared toward a much younger age than my 9yo daughter - we just giggle at those and I tell her how cute she is. She rolls her eyes - it's a lot of fun. They get free play in the little gym from 8:00-8:45 before they break into their age groups. They take a couple of snack breaks (dry snacks provided) and a lunch (parent provides). They go back and forth between the big and little gyms throughout the day, and around pick-up time (4PM), they're usually watching a movie. Sign-in at drop-off and ID check and sign-out at pick-up. You can register week-by-week online. You can uncheck days during the week if you know you won't be sending them every day and only pay for the days they will attend. This worked great when we had a dental appointment scheduled during one of the days, so I only paid for 4 days that week. They have a flexible refund policy too. You can pay an extra $10/day if you need extended care from 4-6 PM. The coach will send you an email the week before camp to introduce themselves and provide camp-specific info. This is a great touch and really helpful for parents to stay informed of procedures and expectations. One tip for them: update your information form that parents fill out to remove the info about swimming, since it's no longer offered during the camp. Other than that, keep doing what you're doing!

Ive been a member of Golds Gym Rogers Ranch since 2022. When i first began going, everything felt…read moreamazing and perfect, until i noticed certain things that are ignored, even to this day. I love the staff and their energy, this has nothing to do with the customer service part id say. -The Womens workout room. This room was actually what made me originally choose this gym, along with the fact that it was a Black Level gym that also had a basketball court and pool, but we'll get to those later. l loved the fact that there was a designated space for me to feel comfortable at all times, but the lack of care and the ignoring that is done to that room, quickly diminished any excitement or comfort that i felt. There is never a fan in the room, nor is there any circulation from air conditioning. They will actually use weights to keep both doors open for that reason, which in my opinion, completely contradicts the point of having a isolated area for womens privacy. I am a 5am-Goer, and without a doubt, every morning the paper towel dispenser along with the sanitizer bottle will be completely empty, which i would say at the same time also contradicts the point of having an isolated area for womens privacy. The leg press machine, ab crunch machine, leg extension machine, AND leg curl machine, are ALL extremely old and consistently are making loud screeching sounds from the wear-and-tear. The staff do not go in there at all to maintain cleanliness. Just this morning, i had to go to the front desk because during my last set of hip thrusts, which includes me having to be on the floor for the duration of that exercise, i noticed there were ANTS all around me. as im on the ground, all my belongings were on the ground, everything. i immediately got up and realized someone even wrote on the mirror "Ants on floor." I immediately went to the front desk about the ants, where he said hes never even been in that room before, and ended my workout right after. i had to go home, leave my bag outside, and immediately shower because the thought of ants being all over me and my things havent left my head since then. -Morning Towels. Every single morning i go to the gym, i ask for a small towel as i check in, because i like to have something to put over the seats on machines as most people do not wipe after use. Well, this is what i TRY to do, except usually they will tell me they dont have any because they're washing everything from the night before. This is pretty irritating, as a simple fix from im assuming night staff, could solves this easily.. which makes it minuscule. But pretty irritating it still occurs. -Basketball/Pickle ball Court Change. When i signed up for this gym, i did it along with 4 of my friends, who would all play at least an hour of ball after we worked out. Not only them, but there were always people using the basketball court for not only that, but for cardio, for drills, for working out. They'd play 3's, full teams, everything. it definitely brought most of the energy to the gym id say. On Sundays, they would even put up a Volleyball net for people to play, and without a doubt every single Sunday me and others would all play together. They ended up completely taking out the basketball court, replaced with a pickle ball court? or tennis? i dont even know. but i do know, every time i go workout, there is no one on it. no one able to walk laps around, no one able to just shoot hoops, no they replaced it with a very sport specific court, where its useless UNLESS you have a partner or there is at least one other person on the court, but news flash, theres never anyone just willy-nilly on this pickle ball court. And quite frankly, people arent exactly friendly unless you have your own stuff. -Steam Room. I loveee love love the steam room. With that being said, i use it almost every single day, and i can confidently say, it is not cleaned as often or thoroughly as it should be. I noticed originally in 2024 a piece of chewed up gum that was in the corner against the only window in the steam room. That piece of gum stayed there until mid 2025. And not only that but every morning there is hair covering the floor, the drain, and even the seats, which is another reason yall need those towels fyi. Yall post rules up about no shoes, specific clothes or whatnot, but you also fail to maintain any sense of cleanliness just in that one steam room. I think i would catch about 10 diseases if i walked in barefoot or didnt sit on a towel. Needless to say, this gym is in desperate need of some TLC, because from my experience the only thing they can really rely on right now are the long time members who dont care to switch, or fooling the new people into finding out the problems for themselves. i would really love to see change and be able to have my old friends that once went here to come back finally, but i absolutely dont blame them all for switching. i just wish you'd treat us all who stay, a bit better!
