Great fresh food and quick service! The only place we go to for Asian! Clean restaurant, great prices!

Supper for three at rush time. Maple parking as this is an old Pizza Hut building. Seated quickly by very friendly hostess. Restaurant was full but flow was good and noise level was good also. Ecstatic to find out they had Thai Tea that isn't on the menu. Very good. Menu covers a broad range of Asian styles from Bento Box's to Thai dishes. We had two Bento boxes and I had a Shrimp Pad Thai and then we shared two rolls. Plenty of food left over to take home for lunch and snacks. All very good with typical large portions. Pad Thai had a little bite as it should so that is good. Good time and a great place.

I ordered wonton soup, potstickers, a Philadelphia roll and another roll but said I didn't want tempura shrimp just regular shrimp so they charged me two dollars extra saying that I had to pay more because they would put more shrimp. There was literally two shrimp in the whole roll so I don't understand why I would have to pay extra because I don't want it fried. The Philadelphia roll was all right in the other role was OK. Can't expect much from Sushi in a landlocked state. The wonton soup was kind of disappointing because there was literally no meat there was nothing inside of the noodle but the broth was good. I really really loved the potstickers those were super addicting so I'll come back for the potstickers alone. I tried the house fried rice and that's definite pass there's not very much flavor in it

Man that was a pretty pile of food!

This is a second review. Took the lovely wife to eat tonight. Went back to Emma's. They've remodeled a bit. It was busy. The young lady that waited on us was a delight- she laughed and spoke to us like we are people. She worked hard and did a great job. I had a happy box which is a nice way to say a bit of everything. It was good. The missus had sushi, enjoyed it. We took some of our food home. Def will eat it tomorrow. Two things here: the waitress was wonderful. The remodel was nice. The happy box was a visual feast in and of itself. Ok, that was three things, but like Barbie said- math is hard.

Stopped in here for a late lunch on a recommendation from a friend. The food was ok. The service was attentive but not overly friendly. My favorite part of this lunch was my hot pot of Oolong tea. If i go back i will try the Thai section of their menu.

Superior service! Wow! This place runs like a well-oiled machine. We were there after church on Sunday and they were slammed but the staff was top notch and so friendly. We got two "happy boxes" and they were good. I had General Tso and my hubby had Steak with Scallops (instead of shrimp). Total, with an extra sushi roll and 2 drinks was under 40 bucks with tax. Good value, good food, exceptional service. We'll be back.

Now that I've been, I have to say it tasted authentic to me, at least based on the food my table had. Crab fried rice was delicious. They gave generous portions of meat in all of the meat dishes. The crispy duck was actually crispy. The food was well seasoned and not too salty. I think they actually do make their Thai tea because my tea was in 2 layers when it was brought out (tea at the bottom and milk at the top) and I mixed it myself. Though the restaurant was busy, the servers did their best to attend to you and came back to refill waters. The place was clean. Sufficient parking. Unfortunately, we didn't try the tum yum, which is honestly the bar I judge every Thai restaurant by (I want to taste that galangal and kaffir leaf), next time. Took pictures after we chowed down this time. I do need to warn that their medium spicy level is actually spicy, which I enjoyed, but others may not. I do highly recommend if you are in the area and craving Thai. ----------- Update: went back and tried the Tom Yum. It was good, but was missing the "kick" and depth of sour flavor I prefer. Also would add that the food can get pricey fairly quickly if you get multiple dishes. Chicken satay was delicious, highly recommend. I'd still go back and recommend coming here though.

We love Thai food, and having lived in the Seattle area for a long time, have eaten our fair of excellent Thai food. This was amongst the worst I've had. I was suspicious as soon as we walked in regarding the quality and standards we might experience so we wisely shared one dish-Panang curry with beef. My husband also got a Singha beer. My husband-who will eat what I consider the cheapest of beef and love it- would not eat the beef in this dish. He said it had a strange taste and texture. I agreed that it was unusual and steered clear as well. Be careful, they add 18% gratuity to your bill, then ask for a tip when they give you their device. Even without an additional tip, we walked out of there having spent $38 on a meal we could barely gag down, and one beer. Skip it!

None of the spaces are marked but it's not difficult to figure out where to park. Since the lot is gravel, be aware if you have mobility issues. You can park near the entrance but not adjacent to the building so there will be at least a short walk to the door. There is also a small step up to the porch in front of the door. The pickup window is next to the entrance door which is a nice touch as the interior is small and would certainly get crowded if to go orders had to wait inside. The interior is small with table seating for about 20. There is also a small outside patio for warmer weather dining. There are several windows allowing you to look over the very near river. We got there shortly before they opened and were seated within a minute of entering. We got a nice corner table next to the river. Our servers were very pleasant. They went over the menu and specials and were very patient answering any questions. One thing to note is they do not allow substitutions, so read the menu description carefully to be sure you know what you are ordering. We wound up ordering their daily specials. Unfortunately, I forgot to take note of what they were called. One was a curry and the other included short ribs and soup. We also ordered spring rolls. The spring rolls were brought to the table in about 10 minutes. They were hot and crunchy and excellent. The dipping sauce was a touch spicy and really brought out the flavor of the spring rolls. The main dishes were brought out after about another 15 minutes. The curry dish was outstanding. The meat was tender and seasoned very well. There was a slight overall spiciness to the dish, but it quickly settled into a warm glow that simply begged for another bite. The short ribs and soup special were also outstanding. The ribs were cooked perfectly with the meat falling off the bone. The soup was flavorful and the ingredients fresh. We ate until we were stuffed and then ate a little more. We simply could not finish everything and took the last bit with us, and it was just as good reheated the next day. We also decided to take a mango and coconut milk dessert to go for later in the evening. This was a wonderful finish to a great meal. The mango was fresh and flavorful. The coconut milk and sticky rice made for a great taste texture. For such an unassuming building the dining experience would rival that of any big city. The fact it is located in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina allows it to offer an experience unrivaled by any better known restaurant. If you are anywhere near Sylva, you own it to yourself to partake of a meal at Dalaya.
