We went for lunch today, and the ratings for this business are really unfair. I've been to this place three times, and today was the best. This is probably the best buffet I've been to in a long time. Our waitress was fantastic, friendly and all smiles. The lady at the front was nice. The place is clean, unlike what she people say. The food was tasty, well seasoned, and the selection was fantastic. All three times I have. enjoyed this place, and honestly the bad reviews are simply wrong. Perhaps their competitors are the ones writing the reviews. I highly recommend this place, and told my wife we need to comeback more. The parking lot was slammed at 2:30. The buffet was very clean. First and last time eating at this establishment. If 0 's was an option on the review, that's what I would've given. I was pressed for time at lunch, so I decided to give this buffet a try. I arrived at 11:30 a.m. when food items were being brought out fresh. I tried a number of different offerings off of the buffet and almost everything I tried tasted somewhere between mediocre and downright disgusting. I was able to consume very little of my food before cutting my losses, paying my check and leaving. Now the really BAD part... About an hour after eating and departing the restaurant, I began to have waves of nausea with serious stomach upset. This went on the remainder of the afternoon and evening and into the next day. Their is no doubt in my mind that this was a result of some or all of what I ate at this restaurant. There's nothing worse than paying for a meal and getting sick from it. With this restaurant being a place that I have eaten at since I was a child, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, these hopes were destroyed as soon as I walked in the front door. With the old carpet and fingerprint-smeared foggy fish tank, I knew this wasn't up to par. After being seated directly next to the fish tank, from what I thought would be a good experience for children, unfortunately it was a nightmare. Yes, the fish were funny to look at and the kid's got enjoyment from them, however, looking at the previous customers handprints smeared all over the fish tank just sets the mood for disgust. Routine cleaning of the fish tank should be a priority, just as cleaning a tabletop would be. That being said, the Chinese food AKA Food City microwaved frozen quality describes it at best. The chicken was rubbery and way overcooked, the ice cream from the dispenser is as cheap as it gets. I believe I made ice cream like that with a plastic bag at one point in my life. The dessert table was messier than the fish tank, with broken up desserts scattered all over the place, which made it impossible to select a food item properly. I grabbed "crab rangoons" (no crab was present, only cream cheese), fresh as they just put them out. By the time I sat back down, they were cold and hard to eat due to the rubbery texture. I started to lose my appetite quickly and it just kept declining. I did not dare touch the hibachi grill line, but unfortunately my daughter decided to get shrimp and noodles from that very line. After about 10 minutes of cooking, (or should I say, unsupervised grill placement), he placed a plate on the counter to signify that the order had been completed. When my daughter retrieved the plate and started to eat the shrimp and noodles, she quickly realized that her noodles were completely hard as a rock, and she drastically lost her appetite due to the hidden burnt mess that was underneath the noodles. Let me move on to the service. With this being a buffet style restaurant, service is reduced to maintaining drinks. We were there for approximately and hour, after about 15 minutes my wife had finished her water and did not get a refill the first time. Plates did accumulate on the table, there was maybe once that they cleared some of the plates. Your punishment: lack of care, poor quality and horrible service is your downfall. Find somewhere else to thaw your shrimp. read more

I haven't been there in a few years, but the last time I was in there there were roaches coming out of the ceiling and everywhere on the floor! They were falling from the ceiling into another party's table/food (they shrieked and left). I always knew it wasn't the cleanest place, but I chose to never go to the bathroom or look too closely at the buffet or anywhere else. The roaches were the last straw! I called the Health Department and they later said they found nothing! I saw, my son and my husband saw, and (unfortunately) so did my parents! Some things you just can't forget! read more

We've eaten there just once today but we were very pleased with variety of dishes. Usually Asian food buffets we've been to around this area are pretty lame. Staff was nice friendly. The only thing I wish the restaurant was a little more updated and cleaner. Bathrooms were messy and total blast to the past. Floors around food area did not seem to be very clean either. But as I said it's by far better buffet restaurant than most around here. We will be back. read more

Greeter was very friendly. The food was hot and yummy. They have hot wings on the bar and they are very good. Also a good sign when a restaurant is packed and it wasn't even lunch or dinner. My husband and I have visited this restaurant 3 times. It is the third time that I am writing my review. We will not be back. We showed up at 11:20 am. There was this poor older gentleman in a booth catty corner to us. Well, we started eating, and the man started choking. I turned around to check on the man, thinking I might have to give him the Heimlich Maneuver, but the next thing I know, he is vomiting all over the table, himself, the floor, etc. I felt so bad for him. I kept listening to him to make sure he was not choking. No one came to his aid, until I said something to the server that was helping our area. I told her, "That poor gentleman just vomited on his table and himself. Please help him. And also, you need to close that booth, and completely disinfect the table, seats, and floor with bleach to kill any bacteria." What did she do? She took one of the regular rags they use to wipe the tables down, clean it off, and then wanted to take our cups to get more beverage, without washing her hands even. We went out of our way (12 miles) to eat at the Golden Dragon. We have eaten here multiple times in the past years, and have been very satisfied with the food. I'm sorry to say, this visit was poor to bad. First, the food on the bar was not to a safe temperature. Some pieces of chicken, and mushrooms were cold in the middle. This couldn't be safe. Maybe they were left over from the day before? Multiple dishes were cold. We resorted to the hibachi grill in order to get warm food. Sadly, the hibachi cook badly over cooked our food. The beef was like leather. I asked for Mongolian sauce on my hibachi food, but it ended up dry and tasteless. I hope this was a one time mess for the Golden Dragon, because I really used to enjoy their food when in the Morristown area. read more

Largest and freshest oriental buffet in the area. Fairly clean. Never had tummy trouble...well I have eaten a little too much but learned my lesson and now I be sure to moderate my intake. Lol. A family atmosphere, lots of kids but never a problem. Can get busy but there are lots of tables and I never had to wait. Service remains consistent even when busy. Always a friendly face to greet you when you're there, and along with your normal Chinese buffet dishes, you have American favorites thrown in and a HIbachi grill to have your items cooked to your taste. I have ordered in the past never had a problem my favorite is the spring noodles. Went today to eat from the buffett and found a coarse white hair in my food plus the spring noodles had a really nasty taste. My husband didnt have a problem would have paid for his meal no big deal. But the manager didnt even apologise let alone give half off one buffett. I usually never have any issues when out to eat or ordering take out. Use to come here alot then I paid attention today at lunch. First nasty thing cook comes out of bathroom. On his way out blows a snot rocket in his hand and whiped it on his shirt. Entering the bathroom I see he left his poo in the toilet even worse the sink was dry someone didn't wash hands after dropping a duce. Back at the table waiting on wife to finish her fruit plate. In the end we had our son with us he is six he ate McDonald's before hand so getting ready to leave I have one of those small chicken wings on my plate he asked can I have it I said sure there gonna toss it or take it in the back and put it right back on the bar. So he ate it then the Chinese woman who is always in the front tell our waitress to bring us a new ticket they charged us a kids buffet price cause he ate the wing. This was an unfortunate adventure in local lunch buffet. The sign outside advertised the buffet to be 5.99 and we thought we would try eating there for our afternoon adventure. We were seated and never given a menu. As I am allergic to shellfish I have to be careful for cross contamination and could eat nothing from the Hibachi as the cooks don't keep a separate cooking area for folks like me. The options on the buffet were almost all shellfish in one way or another or simply were not labeled.. I was able to eat chicken and broccoli and beef and broccoli soup some fried bananas and a couple deserts none of which was any better than average (at best) the hot and sour soup was bland and not worth finishing. the server never gave us beverage refills, and took 30 minutes to bring the check. When we arrived at the counter to pay the bill for ONE PERSON, was 11.00 ?!?! It was then we were informed that dinner pricing applied all day... because of the shellfish on the buffet.. I informed the owner that I have a shellfish allergy and did not partake and that the service was substandard and the food was average at best. I was told "if you not like food no come back". I will NEVER set foot in this place again, this was by far the WORST dining experience in a long time. read more

We have been going to GD to eat for about 4yrs, about every 6wks or so. The food has always reasonably decent. We went there tonight about 615p, thought it was odd, not to many cars. This was the worst meal I have had in a long long time. We paid $40 for cold, old and dry food. IT WAS TERRIBLE!!! Yes, we said something, we were told oh, so sorry, we check. Really?!?
