General so's style tofu with broccoli is amazing. Some of the best tofu l've had in the South. Regional vegetarians rejoice, they are happy to accommodate you. They may not be able to do everything, but they substituted tofu for the chicken in this dish without hesitation. read more

Can't say all Chinese doses are served the same. My wonton soup wash so fishy I thought we left last Fridays fish in the can too long. Received this to go took off the lid it was still steaming and putting off a very obnoxious Oder. We eat with our eyes ears and taste and today way too much fish sauce was hiding in that won ton soup! When calling to ask they told me there is only 1/2 scoop in each container, next time I went in I watched he put 2-4 in each soup I sure didn't like the taste the lie or the answer but in the past it was good at this last time not so good. read more

This restaurant prices have shot to the moon food that we got last fall for $20.00 is now $40.00. I see a lot of comments that the food is good we have a small Chinese restaurant where I'm from and I'm telling you it would blow this one out of the water, we don't purchase Teriyaki anymore from this restaurant the last couple times it was like eating a shoe tongue, we don't purchase Sweet and Sour Chicken or Chicken wings anymore because they were so dried out they were uneatable, in my opinion they are riding this inflation thing and just making their profits even higher, common give the working person a chance and stop price gouging for sub par food. My husband says that China 1 is his favorite Chinese restaurant yet. Meh, I think it is pretty good. We walked in and ordered to go food. It was ready quickly. The interior of the restaurant is nicer than the exterior lets on, so I uploaded some pictures your my Yelpitutes. We both liked our crab rangoons, and fried pork won tons. I did not think the shrimp was cooked long enough. Hubby said he loved the egg rolls, and we both enjoyed the General Tso's Chicken. My favorite item was the egg drop won ton soup. Got takeout from China 1 last night. My husband and I were visiting the area from Michigan. We ordered General Tso's chicken, pork egg rolls, vegetable spring rolls and crab Rangoon's. Everything was SO delicious! Very flavorful and definitely would recommend! read more

If you want better Sushi you might find it in Knox, maybe, but nothing better in a 30 mile radius for sure. The chinese food is very good as well. The staff is very friendly and hygienic. Its very quiet if you dine in. But you are well taken care of. I assume they do allot of takeout. read more

China 1 is one of the few Dandridge restaurants I keep on my Rolodex. The food is tasty, well prepared, and tastes fresh. I have not had a bad order yet and we've eaten there or brought home well over twenty times in the past couple years. Having had Chinese food at one of those places that requires you to go down the stairs in the rear of an alley in a seedy part of Washington DC only to find yourself in culinary bliss, China 1 can't compare to that. It is, however, worth every penny. If you want some excitement, forgo the packets of Chinese mustard and ask for their homemade mustard. Be prepared for a religious experience! read more

Excellent Food. Very adequate portion. I feel like you get a little more with carry out, but that may be me. I have had nearly every item and each one is very well prepared. Never greasy. always tasty with each dish different flavor not like some restaurants where everything tastes similar. The Place is easy to find and always clean. Service is excellent and staff is very nice. We have eaten there at least twice a month for 3 years and have NEVER had Bad food. We were in the area and I remembered I had bookmarked this place to try. We decided to stop in and maybe grab something to go. The decor inside was so cute that we decided to eat in. A young woman greeted us and sat us right away. We ordered some hot tea which was perfect for a cold day. We noticed they had many tofu options but didn't have one General Tso's style (my husband's favorite). We asked if they could make it as a special request. Our server talked with the chef and they were able to accommodate us. Ok, since this is my husband's favorite dish he has tried it at any and every Chinese restaurant that either had it on the menu or would make it special. This was by far the best! Seriously, the tofu was perfection! Crispy on the outside but not greasy. Perfect amount of heat in the sauce. Not to mention the fresh broccoli and perfectly cooked rice. We also tried the hibachi vegetable happy meal. Again, delicious fresh vegetables. It wasn't greasy or swimming in sauce. We also loved the veggie spring rolls and spicy duck sauce. The service was fast and very friendly. We also enjoyed the music and ambiance. We will definitely be back! read more

Very disappointing. From the reviews I expected much better. We ordered take out consisting of dinners of Roast Pork Lo Mein, Beef with mushrooms, and Hunan chicken. The Lo Mein was essentially without taste, as was the Beef with mushrooms. Hunan dishes are supposed to be hot/spicy but even adding mustard there was no "kick". The fried rice was closer to plain brown rice, once again with no taste. On the positive side, the egg rolls and dumplings were very good, especially the dumplings. The hostess was very polite, helpful, and personable, plus the restaurant appeared to be very clean. read more

We picked up from China 1 during our road trip stop in Daindridge. Sadly, we could not have been more disappointed. I knew from the first bite of egg roll that this was not going to be great food. The schezuan beef was watery. The hot and spicy chicken was worse than the beef, soupy and flavorless. The fried rice was edible but it did not appear there was any egg used in the preparation.
