I love this location and try to stop by whenever I'm in the area. The space itself is lovely and is very clean and well-kept. Whenever I get empanadas here, I make sure to eat in. The menu has a great variety of empanadas, including breakfast specific items and drinks. My favorites are the bacalao (fish) and shrimp. You absolutely must have to get the pink and avocado sauce for your empanadas as well. Staff and service are always friendly when I go. The empanadas are not as stuffed and a little on the smaller side compared to other places like Empanada Mama, but this place is definitely still worth the visit! read more

Wow. Great food, service, and ambiance. I had the following empanadas: sweet sausage, shrimp, mixed vegetable, spinach and ricotta, and apple dessert. Delicious. My favorite was the shrimp. Too much good food for me. My friend had chicken empanadas and a side of rice and beans. All good. They do label the empanadas by initials though its extremely difficult to see and read. My favorite is the S'mac and chicken which is filled with buffalo chicken and mac & cheese. It is always flavored to perfection. There is a vast list of vegetarian options with various fillings such as spinach and ricotta. I recently discovered that they carry apple pie empanadas. They are apple pie fillings with an empanada crust. The apple pie has a light cinnamon flavor and is full of apples. The empanadas are made to order and are always warm. They have a fill beverage menu and my favorite is the limeade; its topped with a fresh orange slice and blueberries. I would definitely recommend trying the limeade, its sweet, sour, and fresh. The shop has ~10 seats and I've never had any problem finding a place to sit. The empanadas can take up to 15 minutes to be prepared because they are made to order, but I think it is truly worth the wait. read more

Empanada city offers plenty of options of tasty empanadas. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was relatively empty. They have a few seats inside. I ordered 3 empanadas, the ground beef, cuban, and ropa vieja, and enjoyed them all. The exterior was crispy, and there was a generous portion of filling inside each empanada. I appreciated how each empanada was labeled so you know which one you are eating. The avocado sauce was a bit too creamy for me and I didn't taste the avocado. They advertise the empanadas as 4-5 inches but they felt closer to 3 inches. Regardless, it is a great place for a filling meal at a decent price point! read more

I love empanadas so when I saw this place on the same block as my work event I was excited to try it for lunch. However, I was beyond disappointed. The empanadas had no taste , no seasoning , the cheese in it wasn't melted it was just thick clumps of cheese. I didn't even eat the empanadas just threw them out after a bite of each. This time, the courier (Terri) allegedly delivered my food after I placed an order from this restaurant. They ran my doorbell and by the time I got to main door, Terri was gone... as well as my food. I'm not sure if Terry took my food to appear as if it was being delivered or someone swooped in and was monitoring the courier and stole it. I've already filed a complaint to the app from where I made my order. Another instance, which was some months ago, I went in person and the cashier/attendant at the restaurant was a bit dismissive. Unfortunately, I don't recall the young lady's name but they had long, dark hair. Empanada City does have some of the best empanadas I've had and a wide variety as well- there is truly something for everyone. The ones that I tried included the ropa vieja, pastelon, and the shrimp. Everything was absolutely fantastic and had such a generous amount of filling. The shrimp empanada had at least 4-5 shrimp and the ropa vieja was packed with delicious shredded beef. The pastelon wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad at all. I will definitely be ordering from here more- I didn't have any expectations but if I did they were 100% exceeded. **3.5 stars** Farabe and I came here because who can say "no" to an empanada? Everyone loves the fried pillows stuffed with goodness. Upon entry, we were greeted with tantalizing food smells. The restaurant had no indoor dining option available but, two tables outside. I noticed that most of the cashiers and service personnel wasn't wearing any masks. One of them had an air bud in her ear and I had to keep repeating myself. I didn't notice any music playing in the background so, I am guessing she was listening to her own music. It was just annoying to have to repeat myself a few times when she could just removed her headphones. Overall, I actually felt like the service was a bit lacking and unfriendly to the point of being rude. I ordered originally a shrimp and a plain chicken but, then downsized because of the attitude of the staff and because I was a bit annoyed that they charge extra for sauce (.25c). I feel like usually empanadas come with sauce and it's free. The plain chicken empanada ($2.50) was delicious and stuffed full with filling. Sometimes, you would bite into an empanada and get more air than filling. This wasn't the case here. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The empananda didn't need sauce but, when Farabe went to buy a container, they said they didn't have any available. I like that the outer layer was crispy and not greasy. Also very cute that they have a mold that prints the flavor on the crust in case you order multiple flavors. read more

Their extensive menu of over 20 different empanada fillings may have you believing they are a jack of all trades and master of none, but I tried a medley of fillings and thought every bite was a party in my mouth. They delivery quickly and and the empanadas always come piping hot when they arrive, wafting the amazing smell of fried dough through the room. Each crispy dumpling is stamped with their store name but also the filling of each so you don't have to wonder about the fillings and confuse one for another. Their filling offerings include BBQ chicken, shrimp, codfish, pizza burger, and broccoli & mozzarella, among many others. I love that they offer multiple vegetarian and even pescatarian options, so there's something for every palate. I particularly enjoyed the really flavorful shrimp empanada and another filled with guava and cheese. I'm chuckling remember someone posting a photo on Yelp at a different business of the inside of an empanada that lacked any filling and called it "empty nada." Perfect option for a quick lunch on the go! I decided to go with the shrimp, Americana, and Cuban. I honestly couldn't even pick which one was my favorite, because they we all THAT good!! I was a little disappointed with the rice and beans though. It lacked in flavor and was bland. My beans were also on the harder side and could have been cooked through more. First of all: this place still serves some of the empanadas I ever had, and I am very excited about the new shipping service nationwide given that I don't I've locally during the week. That being said, over the past months the quality previously fantastic service has dropped quite a bit. Staff behind the counter is frumpy and my past four online orders all had some mistakes. One was lost entirely, in others the sauces I ordered weren't added to the bag, were incomplete or got mixed up - with no explanation. Wow what a treat! I was driving distance from this restaurant and craving empanadas for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this is a Dominican empanadas place. The aesthetics are very clean, modern and hip with a small seating area inside. The staff was super friendly, our register guy even went out of his way and set up a cute table and chairs outside of the restaurant so that we can enjoy the beautiful weather while we indulge in our empanadas. We ordered quite a few and they were all super delicious and flavorful, the favorites were the Shrimp, Ropa Vieja, and the loaded chicken that came with tomatoes, bacon and cheese. Being Dominican myself, it took me to my childhood drinking the Morír Soñando (to die dreaming). If you've never had it, give it a try! it's a silky concoction of orange juice, sugar, evaporated milk over ice. It's a nice smooth light drink perfect for a beautiful summer day. My friend suggested coming here after a local visit to a few establishments and I'm glad we did. Options are always welcomed. The space itself stood out immediately with its cute, colorful, modern exterior on a mainly monochromatic block. We went inside to salsa music playing and employees have a lighthearted chat. At first they seemed a little gruff, but we would soon see an influx of pickup orders customers revolving in and out. I ordered the apple pie one and returned immediately to order 2 "plain chicken" (Def not plain, very savory). There was a small wait, but it was only because these treats are made to order! How nice!!! A freshly fried empanada without being in a cuchifrito state of being, lol. The apple pie one was a little disappointing, the apples were hard and a little plain.
