The beef empanada was packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The buffalo chicken empanada had just the right kick without being overpowering. And the dessert empanadas... I don't even have words. Straight up addictive. And then she went above and beyond; threw in a free chicken empanada for my kids, which was awesome. But once I found it, I have been by two more times. Plenty of parking. Service (by the owner) is amazing. But the food: Empanadas are the way to go, but there are other options. Tomato and Mozzarella Empanada - sublime. Spinach Empanada - solid choice, I just love the tomato and mozzarella better. Chicken - good, but look for specials Burnt Ends - wowza, really unique a d delicious. Strawberries and Cream - another one of that is delicious and inventive. Empanada Lady Food truck hit the spot on the beautiful, sunny Sunday! Some friends had recommended I check them out so we found them at their usual spot on San Jose Blvd. They opened promptly at 10am. At first glance, the truck is so cute. I appreciate a good graphic design. It was on their truck and packaging. I was greeted by a friendly face. She was helpful in describing the day's specials. We ordered a boxful of savory and sweet empanadas: Beef, seasoned to absolute perfection! Shredded chicken, with onions and peppers. Hot and juicy! I always have to try the meatless option.. Spinach and cheese was great. The street corn empanada was one of my faves! And the guava and cheese satisfied my sweet tooth. Delicious! We waited a few minutes, as we were told they were cooked to order. Fresh and hot! There was one covered picnic table. We came with my pup so we just parked the car and opened the back for an impromptu parking lot picnic. It was awesome! There was also a local artist, selling paintings so that was nice to see as well. Can't wait to try the Sausage & plantain and strawberries & cream next time. Those 'nadas are worth mentioning. I got a trio of tomato and mozzarella, buffalo chicken, and beef. The first two are the owner's fave (and mine too), although the beef is a top seller. I think people get what's familiar, because that tomato mozzarella was incredible! The buffalo chicken was tender, seasoned well and had a nice kick. read more

The Empanada lady has proven to be delightful on so many occasions. I first found her at a local mandrin event at @tetherballcoffeee. So great to see local people support local people and her food was so good. Beef, chicken, and dessert- I tried too many to count. All served hot and with a smile. My only complaint was that I wish I had gotten there sooner because some of the interesting ones were sold out (a good problem to have because they were so yummy!) Mobile truck also means she was more than willing to work with my company to come over lunch when asked and got her contact to do so! read more

I really cannot say enough good things about the Empanada Lady! My families absolutely favorite food truck. The food is top notch. I've tried all of her empanadas now and haven't tried one yet that wasn't delicious. She has a regular menu of favorites and then rotates out specials. Sometimes she even has soups or rice dishes, the specials are not to be missed when you can catch them. We follow her on Facebook where she often posts what the specials will be coming up, that way we can plan ahead because she does sell out sometimes. The De Verde and Beef empanadas are my favorites but you can't go wrong with any of them. The De verde is a crispy delicious shell of green plantain stuffed with a gooey cheese that's so flavorful it catches you off guard. The beef is seasoned heavily and deliciously and packed full of meat, veggies and egg. The savory empanadas come with a handmade sauce that is like nothing I've ever had before, it's flavorful and bright and compliments everything. I wish I could buy it by the jar honestly. She has savory and sweet, the dulce de leche is mind blowing when you can get one. It's crispy but filled with gooey caramel that tastes like grandma made it. She has a little picnic table outside the truck so you can sit in the shade and eat if you don't want to take your food with you, but sometimes you can catch her on Uber eats if you want delivery. All that being said about the food, I also can't say enough about how nice the lady is who runs the truck, and when he's there her husband is super kind as well. She knows her regulars, she's always in a great mood and she's just a genuinely nice person. read more
