No customer service, cheaper prices elsewhere. After getting my eyebrows done in the mall I remembered I needed some false eyelashes and some cotton rounds. Rather than go to target I stopped in here. There were two employees working and zero customers in the store. Found the eyelashes, $6 for one pair, and walked around the store a couple of times looking for the cotton rounds. Neither employee offered to help me find anything or was friendly, even though the store was empty. After feeling like they didn't want my business, I put the eyelashes back and ordered a 5 pack on Amazon for $8. It's sad when you try to support a local business but they don't treat their customers well. read more

This past Saturday June 8 we had decided to got to Grossmont Mall for the puppy adoption that was going on throughout the mall. when we first arrived, my daughter wanted to check this place out so we entered. When we first went in, there were 2 employees working and greeted us so we went around looking for curly hair products and noticed you guys had tester labeled on some of them, we proceeded to read the label and they were 2 products that caught our eye. We decided to try the products on our hair, noticed this lady walking around looking at us but at the time we were clueless of what she was doing, next thing I know the client goes to the register and said something to the employee, not sure what was said but immediately after that conversation the employee walked up to us and told us we couldn't try any products!!!! I was confused about her comment and I asked her not even the testers? She looked at us and walked back to her register and saw that same client whispering to her!!! This was the worst discrimination I have ever felt this place will not even look into it they will just believe others roaming around. That employee was a POS for harassing us we were just browsing and we have common decency and respect to only look at testers I was so disgusted with this place I truly hope the management team looks into this and fires that employee. If I was alone I think I wouldn't be so upset but having my sophomore in college daughter with me was truly a slap in the face for undermining me and for not following up just to verify that we weren't using new products I will never ever step foot in this place and I will let all my friends and patients know what kind of place they have running here. It's a disgrace that I'm 2019 we still have ignorant people like her. read more

Will never shop here again. I tried to return an item within a week with receipt and all and they would only give me store credit. Seriously? I'm reviewing for this reason and because the girl assisting us was rude also. Aren't you supposed to be at least a little cordial? I'm not usually a person who returns things so I didn't even think about looking up the return policy. It was a $30 item, but I just think it's crazy that in 2010 they refuse to give your money back for an unopened perfect item that they can re-sell and make a profit from... Was told I had 30 days to exchange and to keep my receipt. Also told to try the leave in conditioner I bought and if I didn't like it to bring it back. The lady who helps me was very nice and gave me what I thought was more then Enough information on everything in the store. However returned less the 24 hours later to return a pair of 21 dollar tweezers that did not work and was told I could not return or exchange. Very upset that this is not on the receipt or told to you at check out. I contacted the main office so hopefully this can be something added at check out to inform others or something so this won't happen to anyone else who shops here!!!!! read more

Their return policy appears to be made up as they go along. Had to return home to find the original sales receipt in order end up with an in-store credit. Too much hassle and phony attitude (they treat you like a liar) to finally make an exchange for the products we did really want. We won't be back. Customer service and return policy sucks. read more

I was approached by Angelica, who suggested great products and even offered to teach me to trace my brows correctly. In addition to the product suggestions, she also showed me brushes that would help me achieve a FLEEKY eyebrow game. One day I brought kids with me and they were a little noisy and the sales clerk was very rude to me when I checked out. I will NOT shop in this sketchy beauty supply again! I spent $50 on a large bottle of Joico conditioner. When I used it at home it was obvious that the product had broken down and was a weird consistency. My guess is it was very old and had gone bad... or they are carrying fake products. Avoid this place, as it's nothing more than a massive rip-off. I bought a $19 item here and tried to return it the very next day -- unused -- but they refused and would only offer an in-store credit. Although I was speaking to the cashier and was polite during our discussion, another employee was quick to jump into the fray unsolicited and reiterate the store's absurd return policy, which I thought was quite unecessary. (Get complaints much, girls?) They apparently have a sign stating the return policy (or lack thereof) taped under the glass countertop ("and it's on your receipt, too!," I quickly learned from Employee No. 2), but it's almost completely hidden by the forest of hairdryer displays, shampoo bottles, nail-polish racks, hairspray cans, etc. etc. that crowd the countertop. There's so much junk around that you can barely see the sign, and if you put a package down first to make your purchase (as I did), you're going to put it directly on top of the sign. Ingenious. If Empire Beauty Supply wants to avoid such complaints in the future, it should instruct its employees to verbally mention the return policy to all customers at the time of purchase. "Hiding the policy in plain view," which is what the current situation amounts to, doesn't cut it. read more

They only get 1 star because I can't give zero. The employees are extremely rude. Their attitudes are like they couldn't care less about their job. Their product knowledge is poor at best and they pretend to be experienced with hair dying etc. but they absolutely are not. I don't know if they give bad advice to be mean or if they are just really stupid and misinformed when it comes to hair (bad place to be working if that's the case) but no one should EVER take their advice. I cannot speak higher of the sheer majestic thrill that walking through the doorway of Empire Beauty can inspire in someone as hideously disfigured as myself. The counter help were so helpful and caring that I felt an overwhelming urge to toss each and every one of them into a sack in order to hide them under my stairs so I wouldn't have to share them with all you ungrateful heathens who don't realize how valuable having a beautician locked in your basement can truly be. Trust me, after thirty years of keeping a harem of make-up slingers tied to a water heater, they are not only fun to watch in high heels and size 1 super-mini skirts/handkerchiefs as they try to peddle zombie green nail polish and ice blue hair dye to middle age housewives, they also keep the rat problem down and are super low maintenance-wise; they don't need any food or walking, they never poop and a monthly trip to 7 Eleven will get all the magazines, Tic Tacs, and Camel Crush ciggies they need to survive. Unlike humans, beauty store counter girls seem to subsist on gossip and hateful stares which they impart with glee. But if you need to know what the hell business THAT GIRL RIGHT THERE had thinking she could dye her hair THAT COLOR or WHAT ON EARTH WAS SHE THINKING when she left the house this morning in THAT SHIRT and wearing THOSE PANTS, they will certainly tell you... At great length... even if you muzzle them... But I can't recommend highly enough the joy of tying up and keeping your very own abundantly coiffed and dolled up pseudohuman. Though they may seem like vastly more trouble than they're worth, the yearly compliment they pay you more than makes up for all the psychotic rages and incessant need to have their man tell them they're beautiful fourteen thousand times a day. read more
