Nevada County Mortgage - The Team

This review has been long overdue. The team at Nevada…read moreCounty Mortgage helped me purchase first home in March 2021. As a millennial, first time homebuyer I was constantly underestimated and had some not so great experiences. Previous to them, I had been to 3 other mortgage companies and one even told me to my face that they wouldn't make money off of me. The others would take weeks to hear back from and I was near the end of my rope. I'm not sure why it was such a challenge to find a responsive, professional and caring team but I am here to sing the praises of Nevada County Mortgage. They fought tooth and nail for me to get into my home. They understood my budget and never made me feel less than or like just a number. They don't forget who you are/your situation and were the best collborators. They were incredibly responsive and would be on email at all hours which was super helpful for time sensitive materials. Even almost a year later I am still able to email them with random questions and their thoughtful responses let me know they're on my side. I'm now plotting on my future second purchase and can't wait to work with them again. They also can loan in the ENTIRE state of CA! Don't even call anyone else. This is the team you want to work with. Paul and Shelly are Rockstars!!

Wendy got me the terms i was looking for and required very little leg work on my end. They did it all. The staff at Nevada County Mortgage is AMAZING. Not only are they knowledgeable, very professional and attentive to detail, but they are very friendly and an absolute pleasure to work with. I will choose them every time. I recommend them to everyone i meet. Well done guys!!

He kept asking for more money, in order to give us a home loan, money we did not have. We were ready to give up and continue renting, until our realtor gave us Glendora's number at Northern CA Mortgage! From the beginning, I knew that this was going to work out. Glendora was very friendly and helpful and just made us feel at ease. She found us a company that would give us the loan, even with a bankruptcy 2 years ago, and with an interest rate a lot lower than the previous loan officer from APM could get us. We are now in the process of moving into our new home and we have Glendora and Northern CA Mortgage Co. to thank!!! Just give them a call, you won't be sorry!

In a venture this big and confusing you need guidance and someone you can trust every step of the way especially if you have never bought a house before. I had started off with one mortgage broker that was just not a good fit and then I heard about Glendora and her values of being honest and caring. I decided to work with her and it was the best decision of my life. This was our first time buying a house and I needed someone with kid gloves to go over everything and make me feel safe. I was also apprehensive about a mortgage broker because they may not be the ones that hold your loan and then you are on your own. If you choose Glendora this is far from the truth. Not only can she shop the best rate but she makes sure she stands by our side every step of the way. She does not hold my loan and it has now been seven months and believe it or not I still have questions. Things come up that even the bank that holds my loan can't answer and sure enough she is still there for us. I really love the protections she wrote into my loan to look after us as well. My husband really loves the fact that she made everything so easy and seamless. I really appreciate her old school values that her clients come first. I can truly say she is more then just a broker to us now. She is a friend who has our back. I am really writing this because I believe everyone deserves a broker who will bend over backwards to make sure you are safe on your journey to your new home.

Suzanne Voter & Lisa Mahon made the impossible possible!…read more My husband and I are first time homeowners thanks to Team Voter. A dear friend of mine recommended we go see Suzanne to begin the process of purchasing our first home. From the very first meeting, Suzanne made us feel welcome and at home. She really knows the mortgage business inside and out and knows exactly what to do to make your dreams a reality. Suzanne and Lisa, throughout the whole process, were ALWAYS available to take our calls and guide us through understanding the sometimes puzzling maze of home loan procedures. I would also like to add that we were not the easiest applicants but Suzanne gave us confidence and believed in us from the very beginning. My husband and I have walked away with a wonderful experience with Team Voter. On a personal note, I admire so much the energy, passion and positivity that Suzanne exudes. She is a hard worker, efficient and kind. These qualities have a ripple effect throughout the entire workplace.

Thank you, Suzanne!

I actually just went in to get some cash for an upcoming trip (atm limit is $500). No lines - excellent customer service. When you read some of the previous reviews...they are very dated. I believe the credit union updated their "user interface" software and the review that complained that extra pmts went against principle versus being applied to her next pmt is just ridiculous. I would write a negative review if they didn't apply it to principle.

Wasn't going to write this, but after today, I'm so done with this CU!…read more I checked them out 5 years ago when we moved to GV. They got bad reviews on YELP, so I 100% didn't consider using them for my "local" banking, but they had a great deal on a HELOC, so I took that and hoped I wouldn't need to interact with them much. PROB #1: 2 years ago, I replaced a deck on my house. I used the HELOC to pay for deck, then a few weeks later, I went into the branch pay off the HELOC. I knew the online balance would not include the accrued interest, so I went into the branch (something I rarely do because I do everything via mail or online). The teller wasn't able to get the final pay-off number either (I'm sure that's not the current PC name for this position...), so she called the bank's Real Estate Loan Dept. This took over 20 min(!) - surely I am not the 1st person at this bank, to request a pay-off number FROM THE REAL ESTATE DEPT? At one point, the teller had the presence of mine to confirm that I did NOT want to CLOSE the HELOC - SAY WHAT? Who said anything about closing it, I WANT TO PAY OFF THE BALANCE...OMG - just the fact that she had to ask me that question sent shivers up my spine; I could envision a "so sorry Ms. X but, not that you HELOC is closed, we can't just re-open it because our teller made a mistake, blah, blah, blah". Thank goodness that didn't happen (but she asked me several times...)! FINALLY, a got the final payoff number, I wrote a check, thanked the teller, and left 95% satisfied and happy (I should add, that I even took the time to stop and tell the assist manager how much I appreciated the number of tellers available, so the line went quickly). 15min of "happiness" until I was in my car, well away from the local branch and my phone rang. It was the teller. She proceeded to LMK that she misunderstood what the person on the phone was telling her, so she didn't actually give me the PAYOFF number; apparently, I was given the "balance" available online i.e. it did not include the accrued interest. To say I was very annoyed is an understatement - how hard is it to get the correct number to pay off a loan?!!!!! Of course she apologized. Then she LMK that this really wasn't a big deal because "all I had to do" was "come back to the bank" and write another check...NO! I have driving away! I am busy! I already wasted over 30 min, then finally suggested she just take the funds directly from my checking account, which she did, and I moved on - I didn't even waste my time to write a horrible review on YELP, kudos to me! PROB #2: UNTIL TODAY - I am doing my accounting (for 2025 - my bad) and noticed I got hit with a $10 fee in my 1st US CU checking accounting for the past few months. I do not like to pay these fees, and I try to be diligent about keeping min balances, but I couldn't recall what the terms were for the ckg acct were, so I called to find out. First of all, there is NO local branch number - the only number is the call center - GREAT LOCAL service, NOT! After dealing with the horrible AI VM thing, I was finally put on hold for the next CSR. The woman I spoke with asked me for the account number, my name and my PW. I asked for a hint re the PW and she said she couldn't give me a hint - SAY WHAT (I have 15+ banks accounts plus investment accounts and, well you get the idea...) - they all give hints or have alternate ways to ID me (Soc Sec #, mother's maiden name, specific things on my credit report, etc.) but NOT 1st US CU - I was at a dead end! I finally asked for a supervisor. Before doing that however, the CSR again, had to LMK that it's the CU's policy to not give hints - YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT(!)... and, if she can't get me a supervisor (WHY DON'T YOU at LEAST TRY FIRST?), I may have to wait up to 24-48 hours for a callback...WHY WAS IT NECESSARY TO TELL ME THIS before she even knew if a supervisor was available??? How did this REPEATED information move the conversation along? It did NOT, it just wasted more time...PLEASE JUST GET ME A SUPERVISOR! After making me hold for several minutes, she FINALLY got back and said she her supervisor made an exception and would allow a hint! But, of course, the CSR couldn't just "give me the hint" without letting me know (for the 100th time) that: "In the future, if I call, I would need the to give them the super-secret PW" - YES! You have made this crystal clear! I finally give her my PW and then there's dead silance....waiting, waiting...hello? "So Ms. X, you have an XYZ checking account that requires you to keep a blah, blah, blah..." OMG! WHAT IS THE MIN BAL number? I FINALLY got it and was able to get off that phone such horrible service, stupid policies and too much wasted time. RUN, do not walk from having anything to do with the local branch of the call center of this bank - unless you have to take one for the team and they have a great HELOC deal, but that should be a last resort...just saying!
