I felt bad because it was a super hot day...and the property had a previous tenant who was a mess, with trash, spider webs, and a rancid smell in the garage, but Kasper worked diligently. There were also issues with the garage doors not fully opening, but Kasper was able to fix one of them while giving a diagnosis on what was possibly wrong with the other (we would need a garage specialist to fix). Our front door handle was getting stuck and we were having a hard time opening our front door. I contacted Empire Lock & Key through Yelp and was sent an email within 2 minutes. Since it was late in the day, he asked if he could come by tomorrow to look at it. He thought it might be an easy fix without having to replace the entire door handle. Kasper took it apart and tried it with a new spring but unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. He said he would go and get the exact door handle and would be back later in the afternoon. While the service could've been great, we were really disappointed that we were charged $25 for the guy to show up to our house and tell us he couldn't really help us without completely breaking off our Kwikset deadbolt. He insisted on charging us to remove it, but it would cost us X dollars to open the door and X dollars to provide/install a new Kwikset deadbolt. Well, we didn't need all of that since my Mom had kept our key 40 miles away. We declined the service, paid him $25, and went about our merry way back to Grandma's house. I work for a trucking company. One of our drivers was locked out of her truck and had her phone inside as well. We called Empire Lock and Key and they said they would head out but needed to contact the driver. I told them she was at a truck wash and gave them the phone number to their location and informed them the driver locked her phone and keys in the truck but had payment on her. They never showed up and left our driver stranded and never attempted to call our company back but when our driver found someone who had a phone she called the locksmith back and he said because she didn't answer his call he wasn't coming out.
