I just bought a new horse trailer and did not want to pay the $20.00 each, plus shipping, the manufacturer wanted for duplicates on their website! As I noted, these were unusual size and shaped keys, so I really did not have a lot of hope when I pulled up to the store. I walked in, showed them to John, and he was like, "No problem. ". Five minutes later, $10,00 for both, and out the door I went. Nice guy. Great service. Fair prices. This is why I like to shop locally owned and operated stores! Could be here in 30mins great. Quoted me $95 to put a lock on a bedroom door. When done wanted to charge me $250 to just change the doorknob to one with a lock on it. After arguing a few mins, settled on $200 to get him out of my house. Asked for a receipt. Got a very generic receipt that didn't state actual name of Tom's Lock & Key but said 24HR Locksmith with a different phone number. Receipt name said technician was "Mike". Phone number was also different on receipt than person that called me.

Ron gave me a quote upfront and honored it, even when additional complications came up that easily could have justified charging more. After getting the first key made, I asked him to cut a second key. During the process, we ran into some mechanical issues with the vehicle that had absolutely nothing to do with his work. Instead of rushing out the door, Ron spent extra time troubleshooting (3hrs! For reference this was suppose to be a 39-45minutes job) and trying to help solve the problem. What impressed me even more was his professionalism and transparency. He took multiple videos throughout the process so I could see exactly what he was doing and understand the challenges he was running into. Then came the part that completely blew me away. Because of the extra time and inconvenience, Ron insisted on giving me a discount. I told him it wasn't necessary because he had already done great work and fulfilled everything he promised. But he wouldn't take no for an answer. In fact, after I had already paid him, he literally reached into his wallet and handed me every bill he had on him to make sure I received the discount. I've never seen anything like it. His exact mindset was that he cares more about doing the job right and earning his customers' trust than taking money he felt he hadn't earned. During the process, my BCM failed -- an extremely rare issue according to multiple mechanics, and something no one could have predicted. Even though the cause was unknown, Ron immediately took full responsibility. He spent more than five hours working on it that first day, and another four hours once he figured out the solution. He never once tried to walk away or shift the blame. Instead, he doubled down on making it right. It was quoted a tiny bit high but still around the competition (most quotes came out to $180-280), but was completed higher than competitors in the end. That being said, I don't know if the actual price from competitors would have been higher than their quotes. For transparency here, I paid a $65 service fee plus $55 per house lock. The mailbox was a higher charge at $125. I was quoted $200-300 (probably assuming 3 locks rather than the 4 I ended up needing); it came out to about $410 plus tax. The result is the same. I have a fully rekeyed home and mailbox. Service was excellent. The vehicle was well marked and the Johnny was very professional and easy to work with.

I would have rated 10 stars but i was not given the option.... Over the course of two weeks, and after a few " scheduled "appointments of "no show" with another company, I had enough! There was 3 no shows(for scheduled appointments) no phone calls unless I CALLED THEM, and got 'I don't see you on the schedule' or 'were on a really large job' I asked why I had not been called to reschedule and the response was ' I don't have an answer for that' I would have waited until after business hours in order to get this resolved. When it comes to my business receivables, I need them out of the mailbox!!!! ....I called Empire Lock & Key Wednesday afternoon and Louk scheduled me for Thursday. My husband accidentally locked our keys in our van and he found himself stranded in a foreign area with hardly any money. We called several companies and they ONLY CARED ABOUT THE MONEY.. We told them the situation and explained what we could do to 7 different companies and we were so stressed out because we thought we were never going to find someone willing to help him. I lost my keys during a golf tournament on a Friday evening. I looked up and called several "24" hour locksmith. One even told me someone was on the way, later as I called them back there I was told he was sick. I called Empire and Luke answered. He came out himself and was very nice and pleasant. He had another technician come out to help make a new key for my extension. Service was first class and they cared about the customer. We set an appointment, which I then had to reschedule a couple of times. I had an emergency today and Kasper at Empire Lock & Key came to the rescue. I was having an open house for an investment property and the door to the detached garage was locked and we didn't have a key or a remote control to open it. I was dreading having to get it towed and taken to the dealership cuz that was gonna cost me an arm and a leg. Looked on line and saw all the great reviews so I called them up. When Andy arrived just a few minutes after calling, he was very polite and ready to go. Although it gave him a bit of trouble with his normal tools, he was able to program a new fob and extra chip key using his special computer that is normally used by the dealership to get it done and did it at no extra cost. Now I'm back on the road and have an extra programmed key just in case, and best part of it was that I didn't have to go through all the trouble with the dealership and down time as they are a mobile service. He took multiple videos throughout the process so I could see exactly what he was doing and understand the challenges he was running into. Then came the part that completely blew me away. Because of the extra time and inconvenience, Ron insisted on giving me a discount. I told him it wasn't necessary because he had already done great work and fulfilled everything he promised. But he wouldn't take no for an answer. In fact, after I had already paid him, he literally reached into his wallet and handed me every bill he had on him to make sure I received the discount. I've never seen anything like it. His exact mindset was that he cares more about doing the job right and earning his customers' trust than taking money he felt he hadn't earned.
