I'm writing this as my service from Empire has just been done (even before the stated time).. I called AAA for our vehicle being left on the roadside as it gave out on me while driving it. I had to leave it parked over night and decided I would have it towed back to our residence since our mechanic is closed til Tuesday. Denton called me as he located my vehicle (not by an address but only by landmark). I was home and ready to go down to meet him but he suggested since the vehicle is being towed back to our residence, he'll just tow it and meet me at home. Perfect. He came so quickly (roughly 10 minutes), unloaded the vehicle and wished us a nice day. Of course he's a local dude and we take care of our local people so he got a bottle of cold water and a treat from our bakery (special cinnamon treat made only during the holidays- our Mauna Kea bread). He even knows our bakery!! Everything was done so effortlessly and efficiently that I hope when we need service from AAA again, that Denton will be the one to help us. AAA sent someone from Empire to try to jump start my Jeep when I was stranded. That didn't get it going, so a new battery was tried. When that also failed, AAA had Empire send a tow truck. The driver was kind and helpful during this stressful time. The lady dispatcher at Empire was also so helpful and kept me updated. My business truck had a flat tire in Kapōlei. We had one more job and then I needed to get to the airport for a trip to the Big Island. I thought that I wasn't going to make my flight, because it normally takes between 2-2.5hrs for ANY tow truck to show up. I called AAA which apparently uses Empire Towing, and it took them 30 minutes to show up. I wondered why they were so fast. I found out it's because they have a lot of employees, more than other companies, so they can get to your location quicker. I also found out that employees enjoy working for Empire Towing, and it made a difference in my day. The young man who helped me was professional and did his job quickly. Kaena was dispatched via AAA battery service. I am very pleased with the service. His company and Kaena personally kept me informed on the ETA. He did a great job in performing the free electrical test which included checking the alternator not just the battery. Tests confirmed my suspicions that the 5 year old battery was bad and needed replacement. I appreciate Kaena being careful and laying out a protective cover on my car around the battery area to ensure no damage occurs to my car. I was heading to Ka Makana, when my low tire light came on about 10:15 psi. below what it should be called AAA. AAA dispatched Empire Towing, the kid showed up swapped out my tire put the original tire in the back of my SUV. Return my key and left when I went out to leave after my cousin's 50th birthday party. The cable and the hardware was on the ground. He never retracted it back into the truck. The tire was wedged between the wall and the seat of my car. No emergency number and no one answered my calls to come back and address it. Tipped the kid Twenty bucks, should have walked out to check his work, but didn't think a tire change would warrant that, and he didn't say it was required. He didn't check the pressure of thr spare and just put it on as is. I had to call my cousins to come and help me move the tire and retract the cable and the hardware. Now my seat scratched up the wall of my car, scratched up. Ask for another company. To add to this stress, my 83-year-old Mom worried the whole time, and it was night. If you're sending the inexperienced people out for tire changes, make sure they're trained correctly give them a checklist. read more

2023 started out looking like this: - car break ins on our street the day after New Years - car batteries dead in one of our cars the day after New Years - tried to get gas at Costco and card said "declined" two days after New Years Empire Towing to the rescue!!! Of course they couldn't help me with car break ins or the declined card at the gas pump, but they came out after hours through a Triple A service call when one of our car batteries completely decided to die for the New Years (see my other review on AAA Insurance, Hawaii). Empire Towing was super PROFESSIONAL from start to finish. They called to give an ETA, they texted to let me know if they were running late, the wonderful lady on the phone was a delight and so was Desmond, who came out to give us the diagnostics on our dead car battery. He was super polite, super nice, super helpful, super knowledgeable and had amazing skills. I don't know much about cars, but I had a great time watching him at work so skillfully, and reassuring us that the battery could be replaced tonight, which was a big relief because let's face it, dead car batts are a huge stress and inconvenience in life. I also appreciated the fact that he did not call me "aunty", a BIG WIN! Mahalo Empire Towing!!! It was my first time getting my car towed by great professional, personal and compassionate people. I called AAA roadside services which was the first time using their services after many years holding to the card in my wallet. AAA services asked me questions on my vehicle and recommended a private towing agency because my Honda Ridgeline was an all wheel drive. The wahine dispatch person which I forgot her name. She was an angel. She asked questions about my car and making feel everything going to be okay. Her compassionate voice kept me calm after my ordeal with my stalled car on the road side. They called me within minutes of me submitting my request, and even sent a text to confirm. The dispatcher was really pleasant, and the driver was very courteous too. Immediately after helping a neighbor jump his car yesterday, I got a flat tire pulling into my parking lot. How ironic! Eventually I figured out the best way to deal with the flat was to take the car to a tire repair facility. I knew through my insurance that I had roadside assistance. After talking with my insurance, they scheduled Empire Towing to help. Since my work hours conflicted with the repair facilities hours, I had to have the car towed by itself. One of Empire's staff called me to confirm all the information on the tow and verified where the keys would be. They gave me an ETA of 2 hours. When the tow truck driver, Micah, was available and heading to my address, he called me to inform me of his ETA. I reminded him that I was at work and the car was parked and ready for him to take. He was incredibly respectful and courteous. He was also very formal, which I appreciated. When he dropped off the car, he sent me a picture and confirmation. I thought that was a nice touch. 3/19/22 I've been a AAA member for 18 years. AAA works with local towing companies that get dispatched throughout the island. As a result, I've had many positive experiences with local towing companies over the years and this is one of them. Dispatch said that technician would take approximately 45 minutes to get to our location. Desmond ended up getting to our destination in 10 mins as he had a job in a nearby neighborhood. My niece had locked her keys in the trunk of her car. It took a few minutes , but he opened the drivers door and then we needed to go through the backseat to get to the trunk. Very courteous and professional. Empire's motto is: " In God We Trust" . It really was divine intervention as we were stuck in a church parking lot! read more

I hate thinking of myself as being a "damsel in distress" but darn car troubles instantly render me completely useless. Today after some errands at Ala Moana Center, I got back to my car...it wouldn't start and had to get it jumped. Fortunately my brother-in-law works in the area and came through with his truck and jumper cables. I was able to drive it all the way back home in Kunia, and luckily got it parked in our driveway before it died again. My husband called AAA to get the battery replaced. I called Geico to call for my mothers car to be towed, the person receiving the call was very professional. They initial quoted 2 hours, but later called within 5 mins that they will be sooner. The driver arrived in a flatbed, and was very polite. He even thanked us after taking our car to Jaguar. Again big different treatment compared to Tip Toes towing service. We ordered a tow through AAA. Empire was assigned to pick up my car. It was 3 hour wait. After 3 hours they said it would be another 3 hours . After 6 hours they said they could not find the order to pick up the car. They are terrible. read more

My daughter & I got in the car in the car at Pearlhighlands Center and it wouldn't start ! So called triple AAA & they dispatched over a battery guy. The guy got there within a hour but couldn't get it started and then diagnosed it as a low battery & alternator trouble so advised us that it's better to have it towed. The 2nd guy ( Kamu ) came & I asked him to check the connections to the battery ( advice from the auto shop over the phone after 1st guy left ) and sure enough it worked and didn't show any problem with the alternator!!! Hurray !! So Kamu was the MVP of the day and we really appreciate his expertise! Off we went to the Auto Shop ... both guys were very nice and I love their "In God we trust" logo on their shirts !!! They had even kindly arranged that the tow driver give my daughter & I a ride even though they usually have a solo passenger only rule with covid (luckily we didn't need it ). Driving on H-1 West bound nearing Kapolei off-ramp (exit 3) , I hear that awful sound of something hitting inside your wheel well. Then car starts to shimmer, I pull off behind the Exit 3 sign. Contact Triple A and they connected me with Empire towing. Confirm I needed flat tire changed to spare, I get a call from Apollo (service technician): he confirmed I was parked in a safe area and my location. Gave me a tentative ETA. Upon arriving; Apollo confirmed my identity, explained what he was going to do, took a few photos and quickly changed my tire. He then inflated my damaged tire and identified the puncture. I called AAA to tow my car from my garage to my mechanic, and AAA dispatched to Empire. AAA got the time wrong, but thankfully Shakila from Empire called me in advance to confirm the details of the pick up. She is so helpful, calm, and friendly--she made me feel so much better. The driver of the tow truck also called in advance to say he was on his way. I'm so sorry I forgot his name because he was also very helpful, and got my car to my mechanic safely. The towing was free through AAA, but if I had to pay, I'd call Empire first for a quote. Towing a car is stressful for me, but Empire Towing really made this as easy as possible.
