My Dr. faxed my Rx to Empower in early December 2024. Empower has not yet filled it as of 2/12/25. Every week Empower says they are waiting for clarification or some new detail, and when that is given - they ask for something else. At this point they are asking for the exact same info that Empower received in December - evidently they lost my info, or are confused. Worst pharmacy I have ever tried to use! I wish I could give negative stars. Their phone lines/customer service is abysmal. I've called 3 times for a simple prescription refill and, each time, waited over 30 minutes. Once I actually bypassed the 'customer service general number', actually spoke to a human who needed to transfer me to someone who could take my payment. 43 minutes (and 43 times, a recording that said "Your call is important to us, please hold and we'll be with you shortly". I call B.S. My call is anything close to important. For the love of God, get your MD to use ANY other compounding pharmacy! Pharmacists out there? I see an amazing business opportunity for you. What is happening here? When I first started using them, they were great, but within the last few months they don't answer the phone! I've been calling for WEEKS. Nobody answers. Picking up a prescription for a family member. When I arrived I wasn't sure of the process and how long it would take. I walked in and joined the line of about 7 people. The woman at the check-out window who helped me was super nice! Looks like they stay very busy! When we called them to make sure I could pick up for someone else, they said yes and asked us to try to arrive before 7. I got here at 6:20 and the rx was still being processed. I left about 6:45 after waiting in the very comfortable and cool waiting area/foyer. Overall easy process. Now that we know the process, I do not mind picking up here again. Easy access from the Beltway and plenty of parking. read more

Dr Scott, who had never spoken to me before, despite me requesting to talk about the ingredients in my meds 3 different times, Called me one day to call me abusive, after I requested to speak to their clinic manager due to the ongoing ableism and bigotry I experienced from their admin every single time I called. Their pharmacy was just involved in shady behaviors and the clinic I worked with ended their entire contract with them. My new meds, which are liquid, are an entirely different color than what I was getting from Dr Scott at Empower; Maybe that is why he never called me back to discuss ingredients... what a gross man. Places like these are why medical spas are the McDonalds of healthcare; completely plastic people with no substance and no education. I had to call them 4 times for the same prescription due to some stupid email they continually send you saying there is a problem with the order. Why don't they just tell you what the problem is? Why do you have to call them, get transferred to the wrong person only for that person to tell you something you already know. I ordered my meds 5'two weeks ago and I have yet to get them. I am not sure that the customer service side of this pharmacy is still functioning. I think they are just taking on too many orders. Expect to not be able to get a hold of anyone, ever, no matter how long you wait on the phone. Oddly enough their automated subscription refill call-out still happens for my unfulfilled order asking me to call back - not possible. They like to say Empower "We will treat you like family."- by that, they actually mean they will take advantage of you, lie to you, and bilk you for every dollar. Take my story. As a former Empower Employee, I was due to get medication from their employee program. Little did I know, I was being laid off. They had 'difficulties' with my prescriptions for two weeks, from clarification to dosing, and set my order for pick-up (twice) despite me living in another state. Two weeks later, I was laid off in 30 seconds. I had confirmed with a pharmacist earlier in the day that my prescription would be delivered. It was still set as pickup. And then, despite messing around for two weeks after the prescription was called in, I was told I would have to pay full price in order to get it delivered. Being laid off aside, they messed around for two weeks and got the order wrong twice, ignored two attempts to address this as an -employee-, all in what I suspect was an effort to avoid paying out any kind of benefit. I could be wrong and it all could have just been (a series of) mistakes, but that would mean at best that they were incompetent. And at worst, they have no respect for their own word or company values and have no consideration or compassion for you as a consumer. If they treated one of their employees who became a customer, their "Family" like that, just think of what they'll do to you. read more

I responded to an ad online for weight loss. I answered a few questions and paid $179 for the first month of meds. They sent me my first dose of Semaglutide and I injected the 25% dose as directed. The next day I felt really bad so I decided to check my blood pressure. It was 210 over 112! I'm 75 years old and I'm fortunate to not have high blood pressure. It's typically around 120/80. I was really concerned so I went to the ER near me. They confirmed that my blood pressure was extremely high and gave me 2 shots of meds to reduce it. I was there for about 7 hours. Since Semaglutide is shown to actually lower rather than raise blood pressure I can only assume that they sent me a bad dose or something other than what I thought I was getting. I called and told them what happened and cancelled any further meds. Without asking I got a message saying they were going to refund my $179. A couple days later I got another message saying they were not going to issue a refund because the container had been opened. So whatever they sent me put me in the E.R. and I was out the $179. Truly a terrible experience all around. If you decide to go on weight loss shots I'd make sure I had a brand name product that was sealed at the factory rather than something someone thru together. read more

The repetitive recording "lie" about experiencing higher than normal hold time is ridiculous and insulting. If you have a LONG hold time, that is your NEW NORMAL!.
