Zero stars if I could. I was surprised to get a text to provide a rating. Only use this pharmacy if you want your blood pressure and anxiety to go through the roof. I have used them for three months and every month it's a hot mess. They are disorganized and do not follow up. As a client I follow up with them at least a dozen times because they don't so what they say they'll do. Then each month we are in the red zone and meds are potentially not coming in time. I urge you to find an alternate pharmacy. I am moving on myself to another one because I can't handle the anxiety and the babysitting of this one. read more

Inconsistent turn around time from getting prescription to sending it out. Dosing also seems inconsistent-like it isn't mixed well enough before making the actual medicine, very long phone waits when calling with very unprofessional staff and not willing to help. New privacy policy at Empower is not legally compliant. I live in California, and the California privacy law does not allow forced acceptance of some types of cookies and tracking technologies -- AND it requires sites to accept a "global privacy control" opt out signal. Empower now blocks access to its site until you accept their terms. This is not legal, in California or in other states. Add this to the fact that you can't get a prescription filled to save your life, and I gotta find a new pharmacy. My provider wrote a prescription 7 business days ago with the statement of 4-10 days shipping. I have heard nothing from this pharmacy. I have emailed and I have called and sat on hold for 30 minutes trying to get my medication. Also due to fact it's still "processing" at this pharmacy I couldn't get a refund if I tried. I was looking for a specific brand of progesterone pills, that I couldn't find locally in Colorado. I searched the internet and empower listed that they carry this specific brand. I called to confirm and was told yes, they have this brand in stock. Had my prescription transferred and then the craziness began. Was told that the doctor needs to confirm the prescription. Then when it was filled only gave me 9 pills. I then found out that they don't take insurance and that there was a mistake on my order and need to pay over 90 dollars for my order. I told them that I paid for the nine pills and to just send me the order. THEN I was told that the order is being canceled since they don't have this brand. I have been trying to get some prescriptions filled at Empower for over 3 months. THREE MONTHS. I have spent hours on hold. My physician has called several times. They have managed to charge my credit card over $800 several months ago, but (1) charged me for meds that I did not order, and (2) have not shipped a single thing. I continue to call and email, and cannot get resolution. Meanwhile, every few weeks I get a message that they have some questions about my prescription, and to please call them. When I call, I spend about an hour learning that they will not disclose information to me, and instead want my physician to call to find out what they need. After many failed attempts, my physician refuses to deal with them, and asks me to get answers from them, which they refuse. And then the cycle repeats. I just want some damned medication, and you'd think that 3 months, and countless emails/phone calls, would be enough time to get them. But you would be wrong. Look elsewhere. read more

I've been using Empower for a little over a year. I have been patient with their long hold times and costs because I've been thankful for a compounding pharmacy that would ship to my rural state. I filled a prescription and paid close to $300 for it (I asked for the overnight shipping). After waiting a week without shipping information, I called them and waited the typical 40-minute wait time to see what was up. The pharmacist informed me that they refused to fill my order because they decided recently that my dose was too high and that I needed to ask my provider for a reduced dose. I caved and decided to reach out to my provider, who reached out to them. My provider ultimately wrote for a lower dose based on their recommendation/comfort level. I expected everything to be fine, but several days passed without hearing anything from Empower. I called, and (after another long wait) they informed me that they were still waiting on my provider. They claimed they spoke to their nurse and gave a generic first name of somebody they talked to. I've been with this provider for a while and know no nurses with that name were at their clinic (my provider confirmed this). Empower claimed the dose was still too high and needed the provider to change it or try a different formulation. At this point, I've been without my medication for several weeks. I'm trying to request a refund, but waiting so long on hold is challenging when you work during business hours. It feels like nobody is communicating among the pharmacy/customer service staff. My provider and her staff can't keep calling, especially if they must wait on hold as long as I had to. If I could make any recommendations to Empower, it would be to notify patients if you are making policy changes that will affect their prescriptions. You could quickly send an email--you always send emails about new products--so this shouldn't be a challenge. Notifications will help your clients find other options. In addition, please don't take your clients' money unless you plan to provide a service to them. Finally, if you leave your clients high and dry, you should at least compile a list of other pharmacies you can refer them to. Abandoning your patients is unethical, and healthcare providers should be held to a higher standard. I will update this review if I arrive at a resolution. read more

Empower used to be a good business to order from, but something has changed lately. Back in March 2023, I had a prescription called in from a Dr and they said it would take MONTHS to refill, so I canceled and went with an different pharmacy. I decided to give them another try since it's been 6 months and was hoping they have gotten more organized with prescriptions... unfortunately, that is not the case. My Dr faxed over the prescripting TWICE, once last week and once this week, yet EMpower is unable to find it. When you all customer service, they say they are still behind and delyaed on filling prescriptions. Once you get someone on the phone, they aren't much help resolving getting the prescription. I've tried to givce them business, but like I said in beginning, something has changed and they just aren't reliable or able to fill prescriptions anymore. read more

This pharmacy has gone downhill fast in the last six months. It used to be great, but now hold times on the phone are at least 35 minutes long. I have had agents say they would check on the delay of my prescription and never call me back! It has taken at least 3 weeks to order and ship my prescription, UNHEARD OF!! Do not use this pharmacy. I was charged $604 for an order that was returned to the pharmacy. When I called the pharmacy they said that the order was non refundable and that I would have to pay another $604 for the order! I called several times to speak with someone from billing or a supervisor with no response. I wish I read the reviews before doing business with them. Avoid at all costs! Please know that I have made every attempt to allow them to rectify the issue and they have not. They charged me $100 for my medication and never sent me the medication. They hung up on me, lied to me, acted as if I was in the wrong for asking questions. I am not one to write bad reviews but if I can save anyone the trouble of dealing with the issues I have, then it is worth it. The company then said they sent me the medication but for some reason they don't know why it never showed up at my house. Disputing the charge now. I don't believe that anyone answers the phones here. I continue to get automated calls and emails that my prescription is ready to process, well duh!! I just can't get anyone to help me to do that. I have nothing but great things to say about Empower. Their products are top of line and they always ship my medications super fast. People complaining about waiting times to ship - check with your provider when the order was placed. Mine was taking super long to be shipped, I called Empower and they told me the order was placed 2 days ago instead of 7 days ago, which was when last I spoke with my provider and requested a refill. Yes, I was on hold for 30 minutes with Empower, but I also understand people flooded telehealth because the flex rules will change by May 11th, and people just want to take advantage of the 180 days grace period before they need to find in-person provider and pay triple compared to telehealth. No pharmacy was ready for this, and to over-hire just for a month is pointless from a business standpoint. Customer service was great, my order shipped fast, top of line products. Thank you, Empower. Terrible pharmacy to deal with. Wait times over an hour on the phone. Impossible to stay on track with medication when shipping is delayed weeks (after charging you for overnight). And yes, I'm aware that once it finally does ship it comes overnight, but making people wait and wait and wait after paying is ridiculous. I love using Empower & have been using them for years. I was diagnosed with a hormone deficiency at 14 years ago. You wouldn't believe the amount of money I used to have to dish out each month for my prescriptions. Compounding pharmacies like Empower are definitely the way to go! I am about to move to California & I was pleasantly surprised that Empower ships to all 50 states. It's a relief that that's one less thing I have to worry about with my move! I just read all the negative reviews, and am quite confused as I haven't had a single bad experience with Empower. The customer service staff I speak with on the phone are always polite, and have answered any questions I may have. The shipping is fast & they often upgrade my shipping at no additional cost. Empower is a compounding pharmacy contracted by Defy Medical Spa. Defy basically takes $100 from you and writes an RX that they send to Empower. I should have realized when Empower had no limits and I could order as much and as often as I want, that something was awry. It took about a month to get my first order of Tirzepatide which they mixed with Niacinamide though neither Defy or Empower could tell me why. My first order cost over $600 including shipping and was 2ml mix they called 2mg Tirzepatide and 17mg Niacinamide. I began taking it and felt nothing but assumed that's because I was on the lowest dose. I ordered the 2nd vial early just because it had taken so long and I wanted in time for when the first vial ran out. Defy called to suggest I order the 4ml vial since I'll be using it faster now so I did. It cost me $1,016 including shipping. it took 2 weeks to receive and I contacted Defy (no contact info for Empower) to tell them the 4ml vial that cost twice as much was the same size as the 2ml. They explained (after talking with 3 different people) that the pharmacy uses the same size vials (5ml) and just fill them to appropriate amount i.e., 2ml or 4ml. They had me send photos when I told them the unopened 4ml vial was only half full and the 2ml vial was just under half full after me using 4 doses. They had the pharmacy call me. Emplower told me "I looked at the picture and it looks about right". When I explained it was barely more than the 2ml vial after 4 used so it could not be double she told me "well maybe they overfilled the 2ml)! I don't know about you, but I don't really want a pharmacy eyeballing my medication when they mix it or measure it. On top of that, I highly suspect but cannot yet prove it is not the medication I thought I was getting or it is strongly diluted because even at 4mg I felt nothing. No loss of appetite, no side effects, NOTHING! The pharmacist was unable to explain that. I still have the vials but am afraid to take them since I don't know with certainty what is in them. I am now taking the lowest dose of Zepbound which is the manufacturer of the drug and it is working. So, buyer beware. This pharmacy has multiple complaints, lawsuits, and FDA warnings for things like mislabeling, ineffectiveness, and even sanitation. We have no way to know what they are really giving us. Defy should take some responsibility since they contract them but they are just the middle man making a few bucks on their end. Empower, however, is charging these massive fees and I have no idea what I was injecting. I did not do my due diligence with them because I checked out defy who has good reviews and made a terrible mistake thinking they checked out the pharmacies they use. Empower was nonchalant, didn't care about my issue and basically I'm now out over $1,600 plus what I gave Defy. I do have the vials but so far haven't figured out how to get them tested but I will. If its not what they claim it to be I guess my lawsuit will get in line. read more

Horrible! I was receiveing text and emails that a prescription was ready. I called and stayed on hold the miserable hour and a half to verify the information. When I drove the 25 miles to pick up the prescription I was told it was a mistake. I am handicapped and.use a handheld device to drive so this is not easy for me. Placing blame does not work. It was obvious that none of the staff did their jobs correctly. Poor management train your staff ir get rid of the lazy ones. read more

I use Empower Pharmacy for its compounding prescriptions. Their customer service is amazing! They are very helpful when you live over a 1000 miles from their location. Anytime I call and need assistance, they are super helpful and super efficient and take care of everything I need in one phone call. The medication I get is something my insurance won't cover directly, so I get it from this company and its reasonable for the type of medication and its cost in general. I like this service and will continue using them because of the need to be on the compounding medication. My insurance company recently started covering the generic version, but it doesn't work nearly as well so I am going back to the compounding version. Highly recommend this pharmacy for my purposes. Not sure what it is like if you just go to the local version in the Houston area. read more

Excellent customer service! I called and spent maybe only 5 minutes on hold, then was offered a call back, which I received fairly quickly i.e. 15 minutes. The representatives were awesome, super helpful and friendly. They took the time to explain and answer all my questions. Because of the medication I will be taking, I also needed to speak with the pharmacist, who got on the phone quickly and informed me of all the precautions and what to expect. This was 5-star experience so far! read more

Empower Pharmacy is a disaster. A simple Google search will back this up. They have been spiraling downhill very fast over a short period of time. Imagine going 30-days without your prescription medication! Not once. But TWICE! My first prescription took took over 4-weeks to arrive. My next refill took 3-1/2 weeks to arrive and when it did there were no barrels, hypodermic needles or prep pads included as were ordered (and stated on their website). I had to buy my own online which added an additional 5-days and cost me $48.00 additional. They provided no UPS tracking number so I contacted them via their website for shipping update and no one responded. My Dr. tried several times to follow up but they were on hold so long they could not get thru. My Doctor's office stated they have 800+ other patient accounts filling the same Px thru Empower and everyone is upset over long wait time and inaccurate orders. They are in the process now of changing to another pharmacy and said my next refill will be from another provider. read more

my doctor had actually put the wrong address for me and empower had already began the shipping process. thanks to a notification email they sent to me I was able to quickly realize it was going to the wrong place. I called empower around 7pm thinking this is never going to work and Empower came through and fixed the address after proper verification and the medication was sent without incident! so I've got to give them 5 stars. they also kept me updated that the change was made. it would be cool to somehow see a projected ship date since there is a backlog of about 12 to 14 days. mainly because the medication has to be refrigerated until used and I travel a bit. read more
