I believe he wants to do right by his customers, but... when it all comes down to it he really only wants customers who are willing to pay premium pricing for average (at best) services. THE BAD - For me, his kindness ended when I simply asked him why he charges almost twice as much ($500 for my personal taxes compared to someone else who charged me $300 last year) as other CPA's when he is doing the same calculations for your taxes. After spending an hour and a half discussing my tax history with Albert, I finally asked about pricing. This is when he told me about his high prices. So I let him know that for the sake of time I would be willing to pay him to do my taxes this year, but at that price I would likely not continue to use him year after year. To my surprise, he got defensive at this point and let me know that I should probably find someone else to do my taxes because it "wouldn't be worth his time" to do my taxes for one year. What good business person turns down easy money when you have already done half the work? THE SILVER LINING - Although this guy completely wasted my time, I'm happy he showed his true colors. I have plans to purchase a franchise or start a business in the near future in addition to potentially investing in real estate. I would hate to work with someone who feels they are "too good" to work with me on my simple taxes when I know my taxes will become more complex in time. She also made accusations about how I switched CPA every year which I have been with the same CPA for over 20 years. She would ask for sensitive documents; I would upload them to the portal within hours. Then I do not hear from her for days. She would text me again days later saying she has questions and would like to schedule a phone/zoom/google meeting. Then I would respond saying I can talk and asked for a time that will work for her. Saturday was one of the options she gave me so I asked if 1pm works for her, she then accuses me of not being reciprocal and weekends are her rest and family time. I will be filing a complaint to the State Board of Accountancy. She is very unprofessional and unethical. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.
