I was successful with Enara my first time around when I was near an office but remote didn't work for me. I canceled my membership back in Nov 2023 barely using their services, and they keep attempting to charge both me and my insurance. I originally called to cancel, then noticing I was still being charged 2 months later, I messaged billing in the app and sent multiple emails. I've also notified my insurance about the cancellation. I am now resorting to help to hopefully get someone's attention here. It's now been 5 months since cancellation and they are still attempting to charge me! read more

I had a referral through my doctor's office left multiple messages after not hearing from Enara for a week, Denise did not reach out until I had seen someone mention it in a FB reel and I had reached out to them after calling the corporate line easily 20x left messages just to see if my insurance covered it, what everything entailed for the $100 a month. No one is able to be transparent or upfront. They just want you to get an onboarding appointment. Obviously there is something going on if " customer/member support specialists" can't answer the phone but apparently will assist if you sign up and download the app. Terrible business practices. I would have considered joining but lack of communication and transparency left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I am going to be completely honest, I heard of Enara from my dad who has lost 70-80 pounds working with Enara and going from a medical diabetic to a pre diabetic. I wanted to join because I was at my heaviest and needed a change. 5'10 240. You will do a metabolic test, blood test, and body composition test. Based on the above info and my horrible eating lifestyle, you know that was not good. I had very high cholesterol, 34% body fat, and 16 eating on visceral fat (the rating in which how much fat is protecting your vital organs. I started the VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) their 90 Day Diet Program in March of 2020 as of today it is June 24th 2020 I opted for 1 additional month and I am down to 194 and about to push 193. See a little bit of the journey below. You can learn quite a bit about your eating habits and yourself during the program. I learned about my choice of meals and how bad they have been. In general, I never ate salad or high fiber foods, I have implemented those into almost every meal. I like tomato now, even though for the last 32 years I have hated them. Pico De Gallo still doesn't belong in a burrito, don't @ me. I over indulge in all of my favorite foods, non of which were remotely healthy. I was never a sweets guy, I just loved starchy, heavy carb foods like - boneless buffalo wings, pizza, burritos etc, etc. I have now figured out ways to still eat my favorite food but do it in a more healthy way I.e. boneless buffalo wings sliced and placed into a salad. Dropping the amount of pieces I eat and upping my fiber in take and feeling fuller longer my consuming such. Fast forward to the present day, I retook my body comp at the end of my 90 days and my weight was down to 199, body fat was down to 24% , visceral fat down to 9 (below 10 is good). I have made huge changes!! I had my blood tested this Monday and I can't wait to hopefully see some changes in a week when I do my revaluation. I kinda want to keep this as my own little secret, but at the same time get the word out about Enara! Ooohh.. the inner battles.. so here goes! I've lost about 35 pounds and 15% body fat. The more important measurement is that I feel like my senses are a little sharper, my body feels more capable and in balance, and I feel more confident. Enara guided me through a reeducation of my diet in a nonjudgmental, caring atmosphere. There are many 'programs' for weight loss, Enara was the first one I found in my research that dealt both scientifically and holistically with a person's specific body analysis and their food intake. I have been working with the team at Enara for a little over 2 years now and they have continued to exceed my expectations. With the help of Dr. Bailony and Danielle I have been able to lose 35 pounds and correct my hypothyroidism diagnosis. I have also been able to bring down my BMI and cholesterol. They have made necessary changes and updates to the app and added additional functions that I really appreciate and their IT is very quick to respond. Plus you can even have visual appointments over the phone with your providers, which comes in very handy for my busy schedule! The team provides you with so much knowledge, via the info cards that are sent to your app daily, to keep you motivated and on track but also is not pushy or discouraging if you miss appointments. I have really enjoyed working with Danielle! It is very easy to talk to her and I have come to think of her as a friend who wants nothing more than for me to be healthy and happy. We get along great and our 20 minute sessions usually fly by and we both wish we had more time to talk. I never feel uncomfortable or judged at all around her. I love that each visit, whether it be weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly, you get to hop on the scale and see your weight. Once a month they do the body composition testing and that has been SUPER helpful to show so much more information more than just your weight. They break it down into where the weight is (left and right arms, legs and your rear), what your BMI is, how much fat and how much muscle you have and even a few more things that I'm forgetting right now. The visual representation and the fact that it shown your progression from months past has served to motivate me more and more. They also are always asking for feedback from their patients and what they can do better or add. I signed up for the program a month before I actually received the diet. Stephanie, the office manager was a nightmare. She insisted she sent me a scale which didn't arrive for a month. She thought it was funny that she had 2 Mayas enroll in the same week. The scale arrive 1 month after it was promised to be mailed. I had 2 interviews with dietitians. The first one didn't work in the afternoons, so I was changed to another one. lol I actually paid before I received a scale or a diet. Then I saw Dr Alexander ( she is rated with 1 star online by other patrons.) who was a massive disappointment. She is unorganized, and not competent. She is uncaring, and emotionless. I asked to see another doctor and Dr Alexander told me I wasn't a good fit for the program. Stephanie, the office manager, told me she would respond to every review I gave to increase their stars. Needless to say I need a supportive team, and organized people on my team. I informed Stephanie, the office manager , I am withdrawing from the program within my 30 days, and she still has not send me verification she received my notice. Help is out there. Enara is such an amazing program! I was so confused about food and needed to be "reeducated". I could not stop the snacking and needed accountability. Rebecca, Mayble, and Leticia have been so supportive throughout the process. I was on the Stepwise program and loved the fact that I didn't have to count calories and that it focused on whole foods without too much restrictions. It is hard work, but the guidelines are fairly simple. With my daily pictures, Rebecca provided recommendations on meal composition and portions, educated me along the way, offered strategies to handle certain situations (traveling, navigating the holidays, enjoying a night out, etc.) and never made me feel guilty. Mayble took me on a tour at Trader Joes and showed me exactly what to shop for and what to pay attention to. So eye opening! Reading food labels was not part of my shopping routine and now it certainly is! Leticia helped me look at the big picture, checked in on my overall health, and tracked my progress. I have lost about 25 lbs and have been able to maintain it. I cannot recommend this program enough! It is so comprehensive and supportive. I have always struggled to some extent with food and my weight. At one point of my life, I was able to reduce my weight significantly through proper eating and a fair amount of walking in lieu of driving. That said, in the decade that past since that successful change, I gradually put on weight increasing from 218lbs to 280lbs. With that weight gain came metabolic risks, joint pain, energy-level decrease, etc. Having read a series of articles about the success of diet programs - and in particular those that were physician-lead, I was encouraged to find Enara Health. After an initial consultation with Dr. Bailoney, we agreed that the "Best" course was to approach my journey toward better health via a VLCD program ("Very Low Calorie Diet"). Dr. Bailoney informed me of the pros and cons, some of the clinical evidence associated with such diets, the risks, as well as conducted the appropriate tests (e.g. EKG, labs such as HgA1c) required to ensure that the program was "right" for me. He educated me on my condition, showed me how to use the digital tools (application for iOS) and discussed how to document my food choices and use the application for learning about blood sugar, metabolic syndromes, diabetes, etc. The result has been that I am nearly through the VLCD and have dropped approximately 50lbs, returned to a "normal" range for my blood glucose and am well on my way to improving my health (and appearance). The differentiator here has been 1.) The approach of the physician (i.e. not just telling you to "avoid white rice", 2.) The technology enablers that allow communication outside of appointments 3.) The education I have been given beyond what I ever knew on these topics (food choices, impact of fructose, glucose, processed foods, etc). Absolutely life changing!! The team here at Enara Health have changed my outlook on nutrition and health. I was overweight, ate anything and everything without knowing cause and effect, and as a result, I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout, and was pre-diabetic. The primary doctors throughout the years prescribed a total of 3 blood pressure, 2 gout, and 1 cholesterol pill, that by the way, I would need to take for the rest of my life....Dr. Bailony and Team proved them wrong, and with the right plan, proper education on diet and exercise, and dedication, I was able to kick all of the pills and am currently only taking half a pill (which will most likely go away as well with the great blood pressure results). I'm fairly convinced this is an insurance fraud/scheme of some kind. I called to learn more about the program and the receptionist told me that they couldn't discuss it over the phone, so I had to come in. I told her that I live in the East Bay and the drive is not sustainable for an ongoing program, and she responded that much of the program could be done over the phone after the initial visit(s). She took my insurance info to confirm eligibility (I thought nothing of it). I came in for an initial visit. I filled out some paperwork, and specifically told the receptionist that I wasn't ready to sign on for the program yet because I needed to learn about what it entailed. She told me that the first month is risk-free and I wouldn't be billed if I didn't follow-through with the program. OK fine. I sat with the doctor who took my measurements and told me I was fat (which, of course, I already knew, hence looking into a weight loss program). It was a very strange meeting. She mentioned ~5 times that they could proscribe drugs, but wouldn't talk about what the diet program was, what types of foods, etc. She told me to make a follow-up appointment with a nutritionist who would break it all down for me. I reminded her that I would need to do much of the program remotely due to the location. She said they would make sure insurance covered 'telemedicine' and let me know. Figuring I didn't have much to lose (except drive time to the peninsula), I made the follow-up appointment with the nutritionist and drove back out. Upon arrival, I asked the receptionist to confirm that 'telemedicine' was covered on my plan. She told me it was not (she didn't have to look it up, it was right there in my profile). The program was no longer an option for me, so I asked her to cancel my application. I was annoyed that they didn't call and tell me this, but OK, I guess I could have called them to confirm as well. As of this point I still have no idea what the program is about, have had no instructions on what to do or not do, and haven't received any kind of medical or dieting advice. I wrote it off as a strange encounter that didn't pan out for my weight-loss goals. Then I got the bill. They billed my insurance $300 for providing preventative medicine. COMPLETE CRAP. read more

Yet despite it's growth, Enara continues to provide the same care and support when I first started. Everyone on the team really fits "the family." It also remains life changing. My visit to this office was both informational and refreshing. Found him on ZocDoc and he was conveniently located on my way to work (I commute from San Francisco to Santa Clara). Upon entering, I expected a cookie cutter office with a secretary that doesn't care who you are and says take a number. Instead you're greeted with a bottle of water and fill out your paperwork (if you didn't already electronically) on a couch. No more than 1 minute later your appt. has started. I have been on every diet you can think of since I was about 12 years old as I was a "chubby" even as a kid. After yo-yo dieting and always ending up eventually gaining back the weight plus more this seems to be the answer for me. Don't think it's easy because it's hard work and dedication but I was able to lose 30 pounds and maintain it for almost 6 month (so far). The good thing is that the program keeps you engaged by monitoring you and keeping you in check with doctor, nutrition and fitness training.
