While we loved ENC, for example, and even got a place to enroll, I can't have our kid looking at leaves all day long without any formal learning or curriculum. Coastal delivers both education (we want to educate our kids right?) as well as the essential outdoor play, interactive, creative and group play. The kids are great. The campus is fantastic. The ignorance displayed by Ms. Giuliana about the disease was insulting, she even asked me to consider enrolling my child at her school once the disease is "cured". I wish there was a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, unfortunately, there isn't one and there won't be for a while. Bottom line: children with medical needs are not welcome here because their medical needs are an "inconvenience" to the staff and other children in the school.

We were immediately impressed by the beautiful campus, and how clean everything was. We were so confident in what we saw that we put down a deposit that day, and our son started the following spring when he was two years old. Gaowa has been an incredible place for him. They nurtured his natural curiosity and love of learning, especially when it came to reading and math. He was reading before he turned four, and I truly believe his teachers played a huge role in fostering his love of reading, even bringing in chapter books just for him. When our son was four, we went through a period where he was having some behavioral challenges. Instead of blaming him or us, or making him feel like he was a "problem child," the teachers worked alongside us to give us tools to help him. They approached the situation with patience, compassion, and genuine care, and I'm incredibly thankful for the way they supported our family during that time. We put our daughter on the waitlist before she was even born. She attends Gaowa now, and we've made the decision to keep her there for TK instead of moving her to public school because the education and nurturing environment are exceptional. The teachers genuinely care about the children. They know each child as an individual and create an environment where kids feel supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. Like any newer school, Gaowa experienced some growing pains in the beginning. There was more staff turnover than we would have liked during those early years. However, through all of that, the quality of the education remained outstanding, and over time the school has become much more stable. If you're looking for a Montessori school that provides a strong academic foundation while also nurturing independence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning, I highly recommend Gaowa!

You can actually feel the love they have for each individual child that comes through the doors. My son loves them and tells me he wants to stay at Sunshine and doesn't want to go to kindergarten. I found Sunshine through Google. We came and sat in a class and were blown away. My son took to it like a fish to water and signed him up right there on the spot. I wanted a Co-op preschool. Not just because you can't beat the price, but also I wanted to be able to work in the classroom and see my child grow and flourish. I also loved that Sunshine is like a little community. Every parent there wants the same thing and works together to make sure the children get the most out of their experience. I can honestly say that I have made friendships here that will last a lifetime. Another reason we were sold on Sunshine is the amount of supervision the children get. Not only is there a teacher but also four parents working at all times to help. I know some other preschools that only had one teacher and have heard the horror stories. I always felt like my son was safe when I dropped him off at school and to me that was priceless! We can't wait to come back to Sunshine with our youngest, we would never go anywhere else. Because of that, I never would have imagined something like this could happen under Mrs. Priya's supervision. After noticing a change in my kid's behavior, which I had asked about a few days earlier, I decided to arrange an earlier pickup. Upon arrival, one my kid guardian saw Mrs. Sharon using what she described as a "rocking" method to help my child fall asleep. What was seen however, was very distressing and did not look like rocking. The way my child was being handled felt inappropriate and unsafe. Rough handling is completely unnecessary and inadmissible. Seeing my child treated that way left visibly distressed, and as a parent it was heartbreaking and disturbing. I withdrew my child from the school immediately after this incident. There are definitely other schools out there. Unfortunately, this was a very upsetting personal experience for our family. My older child was in her class previously, and my younger child is currently with her, so we have had the benefit of knowing her over time--and across two very different kids. She is genuinely invested in the children she cares for. Both of my kids have felt safe, supported, and happy in her classroom. She has a nurturing presence but also knows how to create structure and encourage independence in a way that really helps them thrive. I have only seen professionalism and dedication from her and we feel very lucky to have had her as part of our children's lives.

It's a bittersweet milestone as she has known MVP as her school since before she could talk. This is more than a school, it's a place where you feel like you can build your community with long tenured teachers and families. With only 1 class per age level, you really get to know all the other children and teachers so well! There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved- trunk or treat, thanksgiving potluck, Easter egg hunt, mothers and Father's Day picnics, holi color festival and so much more! They also are open pretty much year round, except major holidays which is so great for working parents to have dependable year round childcare. My daughter is more than ready to enter TK thanks to the thoughtful emotional, social, and academic education she has been exposed to at Mesa Verde Preschool. I feel fortunate I still get several more years here as my youngest is in the infant room currently!!
