My son started seaside at age 2 and left at age 4.5. When we first signed up, it was for the trilingual immersion language program and advanced education that came with being a part of RSI. His first year was wonderful. I cannot say enough great things about them. Then RSI pulled out of seaside. They had a different director every year, a different curriculum every 6 months to a year, and around 6+ teachers left every year after our initial wonderful year. This school is struggling to figure out who it wants to be- do they want to be trilingual or do they want to be Montessori. Whatever they want to be, they don't tell all the parents about it. Positives: the teachers who have been with seaside the past few years are very nice Negatives: New directors every year, which meant a new curriculum and new vibe every year The administration who controls the directors did not have anything in place to keep the school afloat such as policies and procedures When I tried to reach out to admins (Ms Perla is particularly terrible at communication) to ask them questions, I go no response for well over a year. It should not take a year to tell parents the answer to simple questions. Last year's director screamed in children's faces and while a number of us complained about the discipline, the admins did nothing. Nada. I understand from a recent parent meeting we recently attended that state licensing is involved and they told parents licensing might reach out to parents and/or ask our children questions. Overall, if you're looking for your average school to keep your kid alive until 5pm this is fine. If you're looking for an advanced education, I would not recommend it. read more

Seaside Costa Mesa has been such a wonderful place for our daughter! She started when she was two, and we couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The teachers are genuinely caring, patient, and attentive -- you can tell they love what they do. We use both the before- and after-care programs, and it has been a huge relief to know she's in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment throughout the day. She is always coming home with new art projects, songs, and even little bits of Chinese and Spanish she's picked up alongside her English! It's incredible to see how much she is learning in such a joyful, play-based way. The other families are really lovely too -- even just from quick interactions at pickup and drop-off, there's a real sense of community here. If you're looking for a preschool that balances warmth, structure, and fun with an enriching curriculum, I highly recommend Seaside Costa Mesa. We are so grateful we found them! read more

We are really happy with Seaside Costa Mesa Preschool. My little one has been enjoying learning English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese as well as making new friends and learning about the outdoors. The director and teachers have been amazing and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. One of the best aspects of Seaside were the daily updates and photos that were posted on school app specific to your child for the 2-3year old classroom. This definitely helped us as parents know how she was doing throughout the day. The only downside is that the daily updates are only for this classroom and once the child moves up to the 3year old+ classrooms, the updates are only on a weekly basis, if any at all. Nonetheless, this school has been wonderful for my little one's education and social skills. read more

So happy to see Seaside Costa Mesa reopen after these tough last two years. The school has a unique sea based theme for kids to experience a colorful and interactive development environment. We considered tons of preschools in the past and this one stands out, especially in this part of OC, right next to Newport Beach. The spaces inside look brand new and very CLEAN, which was very important for us of course, you can tell its really well maintained and managed. From meeting with the director for the first time to speaking with the dedicated staff in subsequent visits, you can tell the folks really care about what they are doing and the kids are staying engaged and also having a great time. I cannot say enough good things about Seaside. I spent a lot of time interviewing and visiting different programs before opting to enroll my daughter at Seaside and it's been a great fit. She loves attending school, making friends and always has great things to say about her teachers. The director Mr. Gonzalez has been so welcoming and enthusiastic in making the place feel like a second home for the kiddos. The curriculum is unique with the trilingual studies, they get nature time as well as play time and have so many fun activities throughout the year. Her favorite has been Wednesdays water play during the summer session. They use brightweel to keep you up to date on their day to day routine. Ms. Pearla, the director, and her highly skilled staff are some of the best around. It says something when your kids refuse to leave school until they say good bye to their teachers and director. Ms. Pearla's staff has such a passion and spirit of the education of small minds. I have seen the amazing change in my son who was pretty minimally verbal at 2.5 to sprouting to telling me so many stories and details about his day with his teacher. We owe that to the teachers who have worked with him to develop those skills. Our family can't recommend this group enough. We love the curriculum and activities. Our daughter has been with Seaside for 1 year. At the beginning, she had a hard time with separation anxiety, but the school was very patient, kind, and worked with her to make her feel comfortable. She has come so far and actually misses school on her days off. The Director and staff truly care about the students and are open to listening to any parental concerns and suggestions. I went for a visit with my brother and his kids. The school is totally redone and looks great. I would have loved to gone to a school like this when I was young! this newly reopened school. My nephew and niece loved playing with all the toys and didn't want to leave. The staff was kind and helpful. My brother loves the school and says it's great value. My granddaughter started at Seaside in September. She has adapted so well. The teachers and the Director have made her transition into preschool the best. I used to carry her in . Now she walks in on her own and says goodbye to me. I find her watching shows in Chinese as-well as in Spanish. Within the 3 months she has been there she knows her letters , shapes ,colors and numbers. She is now trilingual. At Seaside they teach Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. My granddaughter speaks to me in both. I have to ask her teachers what she is saying. Not only is she thriving academically she is thriving socially: She loves to get up and go see her friends and teachers. I couldn't be more thrilled and blessed to have her at Seaside. My toddler has been at the school for about 5 months now, and I've seen a huge improvement in her communication skills, language and fine motor skills, and social skills. The teachers are beyond amazing and so incredibly caring. Mrs. Guzman and Ms. L are the best teachers your little one could have. They have played such a huge role in my toddlers development. The school director, Mr. Gonzalez, cares so deeply about the children and is in constant communication with the parents to ensure the children have the best and safest experience. The staff has been so patient and caring with my little one, especially since she has a great deal of separation anxiety. The educational program they provide is the best I've seen. They teach in Spanish and mandarin. In a short amount of time, my little one is able count in Spanish and say certain words in Spanish and mandarin. School safety is a top priority, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of our children. I love how the school keeps you updated about the children throughout the day. They provide notifications throughout the day, including meals and diaper changes/potty use. They also send pictures of your little one. My mind is at ease knowing my little one is in good hands.
