Here's the thing: I found dresses I liked at pretty much every other store I had visited in the Tampa Bay area. But they weren't "the one" and I knew it. You see, there was this dress I had seen online from bridal designer Madi Lane that I had fallen head-over-heels in love with -- and I knew I couldn't make a final decision without trying this dress on. Just one problem: I couldn't find any stores near me that carried this dress! Even stores that carried Madi Lane didn't have this particular dress in stock. I started calling every Florida dress shop that carried this designer. Some would just flat-out tell me "no, sorry," while two offered to arrange for a loaner dress to be shipped in -- which was nice, but I'd have to pay, of course. The fee would be applied toward the cost of the dress if I chose it. I would've taken them up on this offer, until I spoke to The Collection, who told me they had the dress in stock! So I immediately made an appointment, and since it was far enough away that my friends couldn't join me on this particular weekend, my fiance actually came along for the ride -- but stayed down the street at Panera while I went to try on dresses. Melanie was my stylist, and as soon as she asked what I was looking for, I turned around and pointed to my dress -- which was on the mannequin in the window. "THAT ONE!" She grabbed it off the display along with a few other dresses that fit the style I was looking for, and we headed into the dressing room. Of course, we made the mistake of trying on "my" dress first, because I instantly knew that was it. I didn't want to take it off. Everything else just looked terrible in comparison. Melanie knew it too... but I didn't want to say it was "the one" because none of my friends were there for that "say yes to the dress" moment. You only get one of those, after all. And she understood, so she made a follow-up appointment for me so I could bring my friends back to Winter Park and make a day of it. A few weeks later, that's exactly what we did. We road tripped from Tampa and walked in, where this time Roya took care of us since Melanie was working with another bride. They had my dress all ready for me to try on, and as soon as my friends saw it, they knew it was exactly what I had been looking for. They brought us all out glasses of champagne, and let us take a million photos from every angle you could possibly imagine. I think we were there just as long as a regular dress shopping appointment, haha. Looking back at photos from that day, I have the biggest grin on my face! I've never been one who really cared a whole lot about fashion or high-end clothing, shoes, or anything of the sort -- so I had NO idea a dress could do this to me. Go figure. Once again, I did not want to take that dress off. Probably a good sign that I made the right choice :) That was at the end of July, and they told me the dress would be in by December. So I was pretty surprised to have them call me at the end of September to tell me my dress was ready to be picked up! I wasn't able to get over to Winter Park until about a week and a half later, but the pickup process was super quick and easy. It wasn't until this final visit that I actually realized there's a free parking garage right behind the building. I'd only found it because there was a massive street festival going on that made regular parking pretty much impossible -- but on all my previous visits, we'd managed to find street parking just fine. Although knowing the garage was there would've made it easier, haha.

We had the dress altered and our seamstress of 30 years did her best to create the fit. We were informed that there was not enough fabric to alter the dress correctly. After speaking with Calvet Couture, they recommended we take the dress to their seamstress. When we took it to their seamstress, she stated the dress needed to be one size larger to have enough fabric to alter correctly. They offered to send extra fabric in hopes that it will work. Three weeks before the wedding, they offer "possible" solutions with no guarantee they would work. Cutting it this close, a bride can't take a chance on a "possible". They denied a refund or even a partial refund and blamed the seamstress instead of taking accountability. Brides deserve a boutique that stands behind its sizing, consultants' knowledge, and its customers. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Hoping no one else has to go through this experience on the most beautiful occasion of a woman's life.

I had such an amazing time here. Kayla was my stylist and she made me feel extremely comfortable. I tried on 10 dresses in the 2hours I was there. Unfortunately my wedding is in 2 weeks and the dresses I did like would need 2-3 size smaller alterations which usually take 2-3 months. However I was able to see what I liked and didn't like. And Kayla was patient, funny and just overall a great time. I went alone and she made me feel as though I brought one of my friends with me. 10/10 recommend!

I booked a Saturday appointment, and although they do allow up to 6 guests, I just brought my mom with me for the appointment. Pros: free consultation, personal fitting room, one-on-one time with an experienced stylist, 2 hour time slot, lots of dress variations. Cons: $150 cancellation fee with 24/48 hour window depending if your appointment is a weekday or weekend, you have to wait in your car until the text you that your fitting room and stylist is ready (not great for Florida heat) Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Luxe Redux Bridal! They are a off-the-rack bridal boutique, so the dress you try on is the one you would be bringing home with you if you say yes to the dress. With that in mind, the stylist is accompanying you in the fitting room, assisting you get the dresses on and off to make sure they are being handled delicately since they are not sample dresses. They do mention this in the know before you go email, but I highly recommend wearing what you would be comfortable dressing down to with the stylist at your appointment, requiring underwear but strapless bra or shape-wear is optional. I tried on 11 dresses in the 2 hours I was there. I didn't find quite what I wanted but it helped me get a better idea of what I was looking for! They assign you a stylist but my stylist, Pamela was so incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. She picked the initial rounds of dresses and adjusted the selection based on my preference of what I liked and didn't like.

I made an appointment online the day before (essential - do it!) and was assisted right away when I arrived. Patricia gave me a tour of the store and explained how it was laid out/where to find the size and style of dress I was looking for. One of the great things about this boutique is that they actually carry plus sizes in store, unlike many other stores that do not. I needed to try on dresses in my size range - otherwise, what's the point? Their dressing rooms are nice and big so you have plenty of room to maneuver in/out of gowns. Patricia was super helpful in getting me in/out of gowns (some of them are complicated, ya'll!). There are tons of big mirrors on the walls once you step out of the dressing room to get the full picture of how the dress looks on you. Once I realized I found THE dress the process was very simple - I just had to put a 50% deposit down today and the rest will be due when the dress comes in (in about 6 months), which is standard. There was a small amount of paperwork to sign as well. Patricia sent me home with a folder full of info about my dress and I will receive an email/phone call as soon as it comes in. Once it arrives, I'll have to set up another appointment to do a final fitting to make sure everything is perfect. Overall it was a great and stress-free experience and I'm so happy I found THE dress finally!
