They kindly allowed one of my guests (MOH) to bring her 1 year old+4 year old. Parking lot is spacious-- I didn't have any issues finding a spot when I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment. But it was surprisingly full once I got out of my car closer to my appointment time. We were greeted by Mary, who also turned out to be my stylist for the day. We briefly sat down, answered a few questions, then Mary Godmother started working her magic. Mary was respectful and mindful of my budget, knew what and when to ask me in private (behind the fitting room curtains aka before hearing my hype crew's opinions), has the best personality, and clearly knowledgeable in what she does. I had no EXACT style in mind, but I did have a general idea and some inspos. By the 5th dress I tried on-- I was in shock by how much I immediately loved it. Tried a 6th one then back to the 1st one I really liked, but those felt meh after the 5th dress. Mary asked the right questions with each dress I tried on, actually listened, and ultimately guided me to the perfect dress that left me speechless first then giddy right after. THE dress felt sooo ME and absolutely made me feel like a BRIDE. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Mary! This just happened 5 days ago, so I'll have to post an update on how the rest of my experience goes moving forward and when I get the dress. So far, I am over the moon. FYIs: -When you click "Book an Appointment" on their website, it says "Our wedding gown price point is $1,500-$9,000", but in the store I was told prices start at $1,800. -I had to sign a contract that "All sales are final. No returns, refunds, or exchanges. No exceptions." before giving a payment for the dress. I'm not sure if the ~immediate~ 'final sale' is a standard as this is the only bridal shop I have been to, but I did not expect that to be the case on a non-discounted gown.

At the start of the appointment, we were given a brief tour of the store and then expected to pull most of the dresses ourselves. I had done my research ahead of time and even saved specific dresses on Pinterest that I wanted to try. When I showed these to my stylist, I was told they did carry those dresses, but I was still expected to search for them on the floor with my family rather than having assistance pulling options, which felt surprising and frustrating for a bridal appointment. Throughout the appointment, I also didn't feel very comfortable asking for help when it came to adjusting the dress for photos on the pedestal, so my family ended up stepping in to assist instead as most of the time the stylist stood off to the side seeming disinterested and offered no assistance. As the appointment went on, I was able to find a few dresses I liked but wasn't feeling like I had found "the one." I asked my stylist, Heather, for guidance on what else I might try based on the styles I seemed to be leaning toward, but was told there wasn't really anything else to suggest. This was disappointing given the size of their selection. Later, when my mom pulled a couple additional dresses for me to try, I was told I was running low on time and that if I didn't like those dresses, it might not be worth trying them on. The way this was communicated made me feel uncomfortable and rushed, and I ultimately felt a bit awkward continuing the appointment. By the end, I felt stressed and ready to leave, and although I did try on one final dress and revisit one I liked, the experience overall left me feeling disappointed. While I was excited going into Lilly's Bridal, I ultimately left feeling very underwhelmed by the level of guidance and support during the appointment. I hope this feedback is helpful for improving the client experience for future brides.

However, immediately the bridal gown consultant was rude and dismissive. I knew somewhat what I wanted but needed help finding the exact words for styles, cuts, etc. and she seemed less than pleased to help. Additionally, after describing what I hoped for in a dress and what I didn't like, all the dresses fell under the descriptions I gave for what I didn't like. I felt like my needs fell on deaf ears and they still pushed for sales at the end of the appointment. They were overall rude, stuck up, and tainted my dream of coming here to try on dresses. Here's the thing: I found dresses I liked at pretty much every other store I had visited in the Tampa Bay area. But they weren't "the one" and I knew it. You see, there was this dress I had seen online from bridal designer Madi Lane that I had fallen head-over-heels in love with -- and I knew I couldn't make a final decision without trying this dress on. Just one problem: I couldn't find any stores near me that carried this dress! Even stores that carried Madi Lane didn't have this particular dress in stock. I started calling every Florida dress shop that carried this designer. Some would just flat-out tell me "no, sorry," while two offered to arrange for a loaner dress to be shipped in -- which was nice, but I'd have to pay, of course. The fee would be applied toward the cost of the dress if I chose it. I would've taken them up on this offer, until I spoke to The Collection, who told me they had the dress in stock! So I immediately made an appointment, and since it was far enough away that my friends couldn't join me on this particular weekend, my fiance actually came along for the ride -- but stayed down the street at Panera while I went to try on dresses. Melanie was my stylist, and as soon as she asked what I was looking for, I turned around and pointed to my dress -- which was on the mannequin in the window. "THAT ONE!" She grabbed it off the display along with a few other dresses that fit the style I was looking for, and we headed into the dressing room. Of course, we made the mistake of trying on "my" dress first, because I instantly knew that was it. I didn't want to take it off. Everything else just looked terrible in comparison. Melanie knew it too... but I didn't want to say it was "the one" because none of my friends were there for that "say yes to the dress" moment. You only get one of those, after all. And she understood, so she made a follow-up appointment for me so I could bring my friends back to Winter Park and make a day of it. A few weeks later, that's exactly what we did. We road tripped from Tampa and walked in, where this time Roya took care of us since Melanie was working with another bride. They had my dress all ready for me to try on, and as soon as my friends saw it, they knew it was exactly what I had been looking for. They brought us all out glasses of champagne, and let us take a million photos from every angle you could possibly imagine. I think we were there just as long as a regular dress shopping appointment, haha. Looking back at photos from that day, I have the biggest grin on my face! I've never been one who really cared a whole lot about fashion or high-end clothing, shoes, or anything of the sort -- so I had NO idea a dress could do this to me. Go figure. Once again, I did not want to take that dress off. Probably a good sign that I made the right choice :) That was at the end of July, and they told me the dress would be in by December. So I was pretty surprised to have them call me at the end of September to tell me my dress was ready to be picked up! I wasn't able to get over to Winter Park until about a week and a half later, but the pickup process was super quick and easy. It wasn't until this final visit that I actually realized there's a free parking garage right behind the building. I'd only found it because there was a massive street festival going on that made regular parking pretty much impossible -- but on all my previous visits, we'd managed to find street parking just fine. Although knowing the garage was there would've made it easier, haha.

On top of the extensiveness of the alterations, the fabric of my dress is incredibly delicate and intricate, so I'm sure it was a challenge to work with. Tina and the other staff here are some of the nicest people. She said that they put love into their work, and both my parents and I could not have agreed more. They were kind and attentive and you can tell how much care they put into their work both during measurements and their masterful sewing. Beyond just doing the alterations, Tina made sure my mom and I felt comfortable putting up the bustle for my dress and teaching me how to sit in a chair without pulling on it. Every detail was thought of. We were incredibly impressed. Their work is actual magic! One appointment for measurements and one appointment to try it on and it was an absolute perfect fit. I will absolutely be coming back for any clothing that I need altered in the future.

Unfortunately, that was a very false claim on their website as there were less than 10 dresses to choose from and from a designer they are no longer working with. I was able to squeeze into several dresses and they put material in the back to try and show what it might look like if it closed, but it was very uncomfortable, very unflattering, and not the bridal experience I was hoping for. There were 2 gowns I loved , but neither close to my size so I couldn't get an actual sense what they would look like on my wedding day. There are no other options, you just have to buy the dress (both were around $1800 plus tax and alterations) and pray it actually looks good. That's gonna be a heck no for me. 5 stars for the salon and the personalized attention, 2 stars for the overall experience.

She was amazing, and I want to be her friend even outside of the store! She first gave me a tour of the entire studio, then personally took me around to each section and helped me pick a dress from each style. We tried one of everything to narrow down what I really liked, and then she picked dresses based on the pieces I kept commenting that I liked. She was spot on with her choices. She even made sure that my mom and sister felt involved in the appointment too. Stephany was perfect at showing every aspect of each dress and highlighting my features and listening to what I want. She even joked around with me, asked me about my fiancé, and just made it an all around fun time. The dresses they have to choose from are all so beautiful. It was hard to even narrow it down to one that I loved. The studio was comfortable and cozy (like my own living room) so I was able to feel right at home. Amazing experience, beautiful dresses, and wonderful customer service!
