Additionally, she does have 2-3 phone call meetings leading up to the wedding to thoroughly discuss ideas/decor/timeline/etc. for the wedding. On the day of, after taking pictures in the morning/afternoon, I arrived to the venue and everything was already set up- tables, decor, etc. After that, Emily kept everyone in check, kept us on schedule, and helped with procession/recession. First off Emily had the hardest job of having me as a bride. I hired her as day of coordinator after finding myself in the precarious situation of being overwhelmed and disorganized. After beginning to plan my wedding. I moved out of Southern California, I got incredibly Ill, had to take a leave of absence at work, house flooded, bought a house, so we moved again, many people passed away, I got animals we moved again and I got even sicker. I don't know how I would have done my 2 day wedding celebration without her. She pushed me to get things done so she could make sure things went smoothly when the time came and I am grateful for it. My husbands mom got sick and we had to rearrange the wedding and FaceTime his mom and literally my phone went missing right before the ceremony. My fiancé got his phone and she video called his mom the whole ceremony. We were also an hour late because I had a bloody nose after the photo shoot and had to redo my hair and makeup and cleanup (thank goodness it didn't get on my dress) Our credit card declined for one of our venders (out of state card for fraud of course) and so she was able to get that sorted super smooth. She literally did not need need me to micromanage much and I left her to organize as much of it without much direction from me because quite frankly I'm bad at making decisions. Had I had the funds I would have loved to have paid her to do more planning than just the day of. She and her team were organized professional and incredibly kind. If you are reading this first, hire Emily, second don't just do day of coordinating, you think you have things under control. You do not. So many things happen in a span of a year and you want someone organized to maneuver you through. Also for the beach setup she was a champ, I had to pay extra because we were running behind but she got the beach set up for that celebration and it went amazing. Wedding 6/11/23 OMG Where do I even begin?! If you are on the fence about whether or not you need a wedding coordinator or a day of coordinator...let me help you...you DO! Haha I had a short engagement. Less than 5 months. I felt like I did a good job of quickly locking down the venue and vendors. Thought I had most things under control. Wasn't sure if I "needed" a day of coordinator. Then, I came across Emily when I saw someone recommend her on a post in a wedding Facebook group I was a part of, and let me tell you I am SO glad I did. From the first time she messaged me to our first chat (that lasted over an hr), I knew she was going to be amazing! She is punctual, always responds quickly no matter the hr, is organized, has great ideas, the list goes on. For me, she mostly helped in figuring out the reception layout of both vendors and tables and reached out to the venue and vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. Additionally, day of, she helped with set up and decorating, and helped ensure everyone and everything went according to schedule as much as possible. More than all of those things combined, her and her assistant were just super cool and fun people to be around on our special day. Emily was the perfect combination of making sure I was where I was supposed to be at specific times and also was extremely nice and patient with me (even though I had a lot to drink and was having fun chatting with my people haha). Warning to future brides seeking a wedding coordinator: I strongly advise against hiring Emily from Enchanted Moments by Roses. My wedding day would have been ruined if my own family and other vendors did not step in to do her job. We entrusted Emily to ensure a stress-free wedding day, she unfortunately delivered the opposite. Here are the reasons why: * Initially Emily quoted an additional $200 for tear-down assistance, which I agreed to, but told me the day before my wedding that I would have no help with tear down unless I wanted to pay her and her assistant over double what she initially quoted me, with no other solution or follow up offered. * She told my catering company to set up 32 chairs for a 120-person wedding, (which makes no sense at all) causing undue last-minute stress on my friends and family who had to leave our pre wedding photo session to help move those chairs. * She failed to ensure clear seating for our wedding party, when I specifically asked her to confirm right before the ceremony started, leaving my parents standing during the ceremony. * She failed to properly set up decor and centerpieces, leaving candles unlit and tipped over in their vases and some decorations in disarray. Additionally, we found our folded reception napkins stuffed away in a closet and my family had to set them up * She mismanaged table settings, resulting in guests lacking plates and silverware. * Her assistant displayed useless unprofessional behavior, including being standoffish, and never introduced himself so we never knew who he actually was if we needed help. * She and her assistant were absent during critical moments such as coordinating the cake arrival, leaving my mother to handle logistics. * She promised since we didn't have any help for tear down that her and her assistant would help tear some items down before they would leave at 11. Well, they didn't. Me, my husband and our families did all the tear down ourselves. She just left without even saying goodbye or checking in to let us know that she was going to leave without doing what she promised. In summary, Emily's incompetence outshined her kindness. Despite my efforts to facilitate her role by creating a detailed spreadsheet, floorplan, labeled boxes, etc. she demonstrated a lack of preparedness and failed to communicate effectively and clearly on our big day and the days prior. I put so much effort into making her job easier and she made me feel like she had it all under control, with no follow up questions asked. Turns out the day of she didn't know where half of the things went when other vendors and my husband asked her for guidance, and she never thought to even call or text me with any questions. Instead I was being bombarded by other vendors with texts and calls about set up when I should have been enjoying my morning with my family. Her focus appeared to be elsewhere, including creating social media content for her instagram rather than fulfilling her obligations as a wedding coordinator. When I tried to discuss my post wedding complaints, she gave me nothing but unprofessional excuses and never took accountability. Instead she blamed other vendors. I now realize that anyone with a clipboard, iPad and some marketing skills can call themselves a planner/coordinator. Learn from my experience and make sure you do your due diligence before trusting someone with such an important role. I would not recommend her to anybody and I would tell anyone who is considering her to steer away. read more
