Gauze looking thing found by battery

Went in for an oil change. Quick, affordable service however I opened the hood of my car and found gauze looking things (see photo) surrounding my battery.

I have been a customer of Aloha Motors since 2008. Gary will NEVER charge you more than an honest price for your work.

Great work. Reasonable prices! The dealer wanted twice as much for the work . Definitely a great place to leave your car.

Encinitas Aloha is the only place I take my cars to for maintenance or repairs over the past 10 years. Gary has never let me down.

They were very rude to my 25-year-old receptionist with two kids were very rude.. then they proceeded to tell the customer that they're overpaying for the car by the way this car is priced at 95% of the market meaning it's the second best price in the country for what it is. This shop doesn't even sell cars. They would have no real clue what it's worth. we have over 200+ cars with over 70 cars in the same genre. Been doing this for 15 years. If anybody knows right now, the market is up in the first place on Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini. I just never had a shop be so rude and proceed to go beyond their job into another job that they have no clue what they're talking about. I would strongly recommend going somewhere that's more courteous with people. I wish I would've recorded how he was talking to this gal.

Higher viscosity leads to higher pressures which lead to seals leaking and failing. I'm really surprised you haven't researched this. How about the leaking oil filter a day after install? Seems like a sure way to get more money outta a customer once their engine gets starved of oil. How about the sloppy work with oil left all over my car? Lack of care and integrity. How about the scratches from resting my tires on the paint of my car? Lazy and inconsiderate. Pulled from the article that copied and pasted "Engine Design Changes: Newer Toyota engines are designed with tighter tolerances and specific lubrication needs that necessitate these thinner oils, such as OW-16 or OW-8." Exactly my 2019 Lexus ux250 is a newer Toyota engine if you weren't aware , so why are changing it?
