My family and I were first-time visitors to this two-story outdoor mall. It isn't a huge mall, but it's a good size with lots of shops, a movie theater, restaurants, and more. This well-kept and cozy mall offers guests both elevators and a central staircase to connect the two floors. The parking lot isn't large, which might make parking difficult. During our visit, we were fortunate that a visitor was leaving a parking spot just steps from the main entrance, so we got great parking. read more

A little strip mall right in the heart of the valley. There's plenty of parking both in the front as well As behind the business. You have a good selections or eating places too. The main being Chili's, and then smaller places. Also have teppan style at Yamato where it's similar to Benihana. The one that's always busy, More Than Waffles downstairs for breakfast and brunch. There's always a line when they're open. Also the hours are very limited as it's only till lunch. Then you have Michael's crafts which is pretty massive. There's a bank right next door. Another cool spot, Paris Baguette if you're wanting sweets and sandwiches. Amazing whole cakes too. Can't forget the movie theatre, it's a smaller Laemmle. This little strip mall does have a good charm to it. read more

It is a beautiful center. The outdoor courtyard makes everything secure and lovely to appreciate.

I'm surprised I never wrote a review for Encino Town Center since we've been coming here for 15 + years! I always loved this shopping center architecture wise, warm, cozy, elegant, charming. Typical California in the good way! They don't make them like this anymore! I used to come to Laemmle Theater here a lot, it's a great art-house cinema with a nice selection of movies. I used to shop at Pier 1, now a Michael's (line was long to go inside). Some of the stores and restaurants are the same, other have changed, but they always have fun, more ethnic variety of eateries, so you have plenty to choose from. The parking lot is big, but always crowded, even during Covid it took us a while to find parking. Even if it's a bit of a Ghost Town now with the theater closed and some restaurants, they did a nice job with the X-mas decorations. It's cheerful and fun! I had a nostalgic visit here, Encino Town Center is one of those place that I took for granted! Now, you start to value everything even more! read more

The Town Center is the hub of Encino... Many shops, places to eat and things to enjoy... It sits on the south side of Ventura Blvd and is home to long standing places like More Than Waffles, Laemmle Town Center 5, Michael's and numerous newer businesses as well as chain staples, Yogurtland, Juice Crafters, Chili's and The Habit (burger joint). The parking lot is usually always in flux... You can find something near the direction you're heading if a pinch of patient otherwise it's now a massive mall like a Westfield is a super plaza of outdoor enjoyables with some covered areas, lively plants, trees and comfort. Usually find myself here for a sale at Michael's but have taken in a movie on the lower level, enjoy brunch just across from that and had a post dinner dessert of the sorbet/frozen variety. Located right across from the sign for the Encino Commons (which is both sides of the block) on Ventura Blvd between Louise Ave and Amestoy Ave. read more

I was like born and raised in Encino from the 1960s to about 2000. I went back to visit recently and it was like, a total bummer! I mean, like, I was on my way to catch some rays down at Zuma 6 and saw this abomination across the Boulevard that reads "Encino Commons." It was a total bummer. Oh my god, gag me with a spoon! I mean, what's so common about Encino anyways? Duh! Someone at the old Town & Country, whatever it is called now...please, like do something! Have that gnarly sign removed. It's so, like, totally grody to the max! It's what we'd, like, call cheesy. And don't get me started on everyone calling North Hollywood "Noho." As if! I mean, duh! This ain't New York City. I've lived in the Southland since the early 80's. I had been wracking my brain about this shopping/dining plaza, since I vaguely remembered a different venue here from back in the day. Courtesy of a Google search, I figured out how to marry my memories with the previous history. There once was a magical place called Encino Town and Country Shopping Center on this site. It had a Houlihan's restaurant, plus a garden setting on a knoll. I recall going to Houlihan's several times and enjoying the vibe of the center. Now the center is a flat, mostly soulless place to go for a variety of restaurants, plus Michael's crafts store. Parking is often a hassle, but at least it's free. From the Ventura Blvd. level you'd never know there was an inner courtyard with fountains and a sunken garden level unless you had business there. We discovered that when we tried More Than Waffles a few months ago. The lower level was an inspiration! We've enjoyed cool treats at Yogurtland, and created our own pizza at Pieology at various times when our grandson lived close to this area. My overriding impression is that it's time for the owners to consider a visual makeover of the center. No way does it's vibe match the creative punch of the "Encino Commons" mega-sign which hangs over Ventura Blvd. in front of it. Instead, the tired architecture and mish-mash signage makes it look like an over-grown version of the many cheap strip malls in the Valley. My personal suggestion would be a retro theme digging into the Fixer Upper playbook of farmhouse chic. Encino isn't Beverly Hills, though many residents might be playing a wishing game that it were. Another way to go might be tropical-inspired charm, with a plantation feel. That might be more readily adaptable to some of the existing landscaping. The more we are crammed into smaller living spaces, the more I believe we crave public spaces which are delightful places to visit, even when running errands. Witness the success of the Caruso properties around the Southland. At present, Encino Town Center is a long way from that kind of aesthetic. read more

This shopping center has more than meets the eye -- if you have the patience to loop around and around the lot for parking, and then navigate your way through its confusing layout. Some of the businesses that call this place home: - Yogurtland - The Spot Hookah Lounge & Restaurant - Michael's - Donutella Cafe - New Look Skin Center - The Habit - Chili's - Kumon - More Than Waffles - NailGarden - Glow Med Spa - Laemmle's Movie Theater ...and plenty of small shops that are easy to overlook. Unfortunately, unless you have a specific destination in mind, you won't notice most of the businesses here. It's not an ideal place to browse around. The majority of the shops always look closed. Some of the bigger ones, like The Spot or More Than Waffles, are often busy and can't be missed. The plaza, as a whole, looks outdated and a little run-down. Lots of plants and trees that don't add to the aesthetics. It gets crowded on weekend mornings, mostly because of More Than Waffles. It also tends to get crowded in the late evenings and nights, thanks to The Spot. You would think there would be plenty of parking considering there's an entire lot and an underground garage area. Nope! Oftentimes, it's still a mission to maneuver your way through the narrow, one-way aisles. Some patrons park on the front curb for "short" stops. Unless you have a very specific reason for coming here -- like a certain business that isn't available anywhere else within 10 miles -- I would suggest avoiding this shopping center. read more

I remember it as the Encino Town and Country Shopping Center on this site. It used to be a cool indoor outdoor shopping center with a lot of greenery. I remember having great dinners at the Good Earth and Houlihan's. Go to the theater there and they had some shopping too. The mall It has changed a lot in the last 25 years. read more

HATE going to this place. Though, in all fairness, I hate most shopping centers and strip malls and malls of any kind. But I've never been so pissed at a shopping place that I've yelped it. It's such a parking klusterfuk (!)... so many people parking in the fire lane. I like this spot it has two of my favorite places, one is new look skin center and more than waffles. Love meeting my friends at this spot because it has everything from lots of food places , to dentists, frozen yogurt, Wells Fargo bank and even a movie theatre but I have never been to it. Parking is a little tough even though they have big parking it gets a little packed. So it's def. a good spot and it is surrounded by even more fun places to go to if you cross the street. read more

the little town center that...couldn't. I've grown up in Encino. And yes, I joined Yelp mainly because there's nothing to do in Encino, and I'm finally accepting that fact. this town center was, for me as a teenager without a car, like some kind of tantalizing desert mirage. A place where things happen?! That I could get to?! Well, yes and no. I do like the Laemmle theater; my friends and I have been hitting that theater fairly regularly since we were maybe 15? Yes, the place is old and run-down, the seats are ratty, the screens are small, and the median age of the clientele is 60, but in some ways the hidden unassuming character of the place has always made me feel a certain community protectiveness towards the old theater. Not to mention, those elderly people make for a very quiet audience. And I like all of the odd films they show - some, like the small independents or the rereleases, wouldn't be shown anywhere else. I saw Gone With the Wind there on the big screen when I was 17 - that was practically a full day event! I've often stopped for films i knew nothing about, just to see what they were, and have gotten rewards like Waking Ned Devine, and flops like Pumpkin (sorry if you like this one). I like Rubio's Fish Tacos; they make decent food, the outdoor patio option is nice, and I've always gotten a kick out of the random saltwater fish tank and the surfboard on the wall. I've always been intrigued by the travel agency on the lower level - it's so tiny and messy, and who possibly goes there? then there are some things which are OK. More than waffles makes fairly good food, and they have live music once a week, but it's pricey and not really that exciting. there's some kind of new trendy smoothie/yogurt place now, which is expensive, but alright the middle eastern restaurant, which I've never been to, has a hookah lounge, and I'm pretty sure live music. Might be worth looking up. Sky sushi was good while it existed, though it was overpriced for the quality of the food. (Unless Sky was over at Encino Place, in which case the review still stands, but it was located a couple blocks away) I even hung out in the frame store a couple of times. Yes, I was that bored. And they have some really nice frames. The rest offers nothing in the way of amusement or edibility. So, in conclusion, decent, but not great. read more

Be careful walking from Chili's restaurant to the underground parking at Encino town center as I tripped and fell on my knee on an uneven pavement on September 15,2019 at 7:20 pm. They need to repave that area as there is a raised strip of pavement. read more
