Is dance dad a thing? 'cause if it is, it's not really something I go around advertising to people, but I guess you guys can keep my secret, right? Shhhh... As a freshly sprung adult all those years ago, I used to think, I wish there was a class for people called "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor". While I never did find and admittedly, I didn't really search for either, a class aimed at young adults who don't want to look like an idiot on the dance floor, I somehow fumbled my way through my 20s, had a child in my 30s who is now a budding primary schooler. I thought to myself, what are all the really important things in life that a man should know how to do and somehow "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor" came to mind -- so here I am. A middle aged man sitting in the waiting area of a dance studio while my grade schooler learns how to dance. Sure, he looks cool doing it, he's learning coordination, he's part of a team of kids doing something together, he's getting his energy out in a productive way, he's cart wheeling, front rolling, hand standing, back bending, stomping, popping, locking, pointing in a hip-hop-esq way but what is most important here is that when he becomes an adult, he'll be able to roll up to da club and show up all those other posers who only wish that they "didn't look like an idiot on the dance floor". No amount of best value for your money, conveniently located hip-hop, tumbling, tap, or ballet classes can even compare to the satisfaction he will have when he's in his 20s and ruling the roost. To my 21 year old son making bad decisions in life, I dedicate this review to you. Now please just let me get through these multiple days per week watching you fumble around on the dance floor trying to keep up with the kids next to you while you shake your tiny little groove thing! read more

My daughter started at Encore in 2021. The entire faculty at Encore has be fantastic. My daughter has enjoyed every aspect of the studio. They have been very welcoming to my daughter the whole way, from dance classes to competition team. It truly is an amazing studio! read more

Our daughter attended this dance studio for 8 years and it became a cornerstone of her childhood. We could not have asked for a better experience for her. Aside from the high quality instruction and amazingly talented staff/instructors, the studio really treats each child like a member of their own family. We watched the studio explode with growth over the years and even with the increase in numbers, they never lost the ability to give individual attention to each student and hone in and develop each student's gift in dance to make them the best they can be. Encore Dance Center is incredibly unique in the encouragement it gives it students to treat everyone with courtesy and respect and they model this every step of the way. When our daughter reached the studio's Company, they won awards not once, but multiple times, for being the most helpful and/or courteous to other studios during competitions. Today, they have continued to promote this ethic by making scholarship money available through a related non-profit if the Company dancers complete a certain number of hours of community service. I personally think this goes above and beyond what most studios provide. The dancers are taught to support each other and all other dancers, regardless of the fact that they are competing against each other. This then goes a step further and they are taught to support their community. In Encore Dance Center, our daughter not only gained a love for dance, but she gained discipline and focus that she carried into her college years, a high sense of confidence and self-worth, and the sense of an extended family through the studio's staff and other dancers. All of this for a bargain....the tuition rates were incredibly reasonable compared to other studios and my understanding is they have not increased since our daughter graduated in 2015. I only wish we had found Encore Dance Center sooner in our daughter's life (she started there when she was 10). It's the first place she visits every time she is in Phoenix since she left for college and it was so impactual that we continue to attend the recital as a family every year, even though we moved out of state after our daughter graduated. Poor business practices at Encore! Beware, they will charge your card without obtaining authorization from you. You CANNOT charge a persons card without consent from that individual, no matter what the situation is. There is nothing listed in the paperwork that says you operate this way. I was accused of just not wanting to pay-how about I just didn't want to pay with THAT card? Money is not an issue. If I had the time I would take them to court just to prove my point. read more

Regina, Jason and ALL of their staff make up this wonderful dance studio and my daughter couldn't be happier. She enjoyed dance at another studio for a few years, but Regina, her dance expertise, as well as that of her staff, gives this studio the hip vibe and technical knowledge that my daughter was craving. My daughter has been dancing at Encore for several years now, and we love this studio! Encore is a small, urban studio that offers a wide variety of classes to people of all ages in a centralized location. Whether you're 3 or 33 there is a wide variety of classes to choose from whether you want to learn ballet, jazz, hip hop, salsa, or any of the many specialized courses available. Encore also hosts specialty classes on the weekends from time to time with celebrity guest instructors. It's a very cool place, with a down to earth vibe. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for a place to dance! read more

My two girls are dancing at EDC and are growing daily in their dancing abilities! The entire atmosphere, from the studios to the personnel is dance-centered, family-focused, and, all about the dancers! We'd danced elsewhere for 11 years and we've gained as much at Encore in the six months we've been there as we did in all of those years. The technique is perfect and the choreography is up-to-date. It's a DANCE JOINT and an amazing place to be. It's affordable, everything is organized and simple to understand and the people who attend are wonderful! I took my daughter out of another studio due to drama bullying etc. we came to Encore in August and we absolutely love it here. It is night and day my daughter loves the studio, kids and parents, and teachers all of the teachers which is huge for her. Encore is like one big family doesn't matter what level you are or if you are on company everyone is treated equally. The owners are amazing. You are welcomed as soon as your foot enters the building. It is one big family with everyone working together. I can finally see my child with a spark in her eye and a smile on her face once again doing what she loves so deeply and that's dancing. We are blessed to be a part of the Encore family. I only wish I would have brought her here along time ago. If you are in doubt about where you are come give Encore a shot you won't be disappointed. read more

My daughter began taking classes at Encore 6 years ago. At the time she had a bit of an attitude and didn't do too well with other girls. She instantly fell in love with Regina and took numerous classes from hip hop (her first choice) to ballet, jazz, and lyrical. I watched my daughter blossom into an amazing young woman as well as an amazing dancer. Regina involves the girls and boys in the competition experience so that they have more opportunity to learn confidence and self esteem. My daughter has had the opportunity to travel to California and Las Vegas with the studio to participate in Nationals and Master Classes. Encore is not JUST family owned, it is a family environment. I checked other studios but found a less than friendly welcome to new participants. I couldn't recommend anything more than Encore and the skills that your child learns. My daughter now works at the studio as well as dancing and my youngest daughter is taking her first classes now. I am looking forward to another 6 years or more with the Encore family. read more
